  1. I have a column shift cluster, but has lights on sides, not guages. 2 large guages in center for gas and sppedo, lights for temp, oil, and battery. Let me know of interested.
  2. I'm looking in the parts truck this weekend to see if it's what you're looking for, I think it is. I'll post up a pic.
  3. Bump! Anyone? Please! :help:
  4. It's a PITA to replace the little plastic "sockets" that the actual screws go in to. I had my 9 year old try to help since her hands are so small, but ended up wedging them on a really long scredriver to get them in position. It would probably be much easier if you remove the light housing/socket thingy (the metal part just behind the light).
  5. So investigated further theis weekend. Ground is good on fender. When trying the hazards with headlights on the left arrow on dash lights up but that's it, nothing outside lights up, and turn the headlights (or the hazards) off the arrow goes off. Still no turn signals. Bright lights do work if that matters. Downloaded and printed electrical troubleshooting guide, wasn't a whole lot of help (to me at least) as these are on different fuses and different flash relays. Read somewhere else it may be the hazard switch. Any thoughts on that, and if I'm going in that far (assume I'll have to tear down the steering column) should I go ahead and replace the turn signal wand as well. If so would one off a model with cruise work even though mine doesn't have cruise, in doing this could I add cruise as well (mine is a '88 4.0 manual, donor would be '90 4.0 auto)? If so what other parts would I need off the donor? This weekend was nice so arm signals weren't so bad, but in a month or two or in the rain it'll suck pretty bad, although I do have about 6 months to go til next inspection.
  6. Guess you still need this, what's your offer on it? I have no idea what it's worth and want to know if it'd be worth the pain of removing from the parts truck (which is a 90 4.0 auto).
  7. What happened to my bookmarks!? Hopefully I'm missing something and they're still here somewhere.
  8. I'm having exactly this same problem. Did this one ever get resolved? Mine worked fine when I got the truck, but since getting it back last weekend from having it painted the blinkers and hazards aren't working. I popped the hood and messed with a plug looking thing on the driver side fender (I read somewhere on here that there's a ground screw around there somewhere but couldn't find it, and when I unplugged whatever it was the truck started to die so I plugged that back in) and jiggled wires under the dash, started working for about 5 minutes then quit again. I'm going to try to find that plug under the steering column that was mentioned earlier in this thread and see if that works. Is there a blinker solenoid that may be bad?
  9. I like my Toyota Yaris, no pesky batteries to worry about and I get 40 mpg all day every day around town delivering pizzas, oh yeah, it was only about 12K. Figured the extra for the Prius wasn't going to pay back nearly as quickly as the ever so slightly reduced mileage of the Yaris. Do I want to take it off road or dirve it around after armageddon, no, that's what my MJ's for!
  10. Yeah, I was thinking the 22 days late was in reference to your gal...
  11. :fs1: And you had me really excited. You'd have to check more than the floorboards on that one for rust! At least it wasn't an MJ.
  12. So to be clear on the easier way to do it, remove the cover, slide the collar (in the axle part still) over to locked, reinstall the cover upside down, disconnect and plug vac lines. Is that correct?
  13. I've wondered about this to, seems to me there is some sort of something that clips on there, but neither my truck or my parts rig has one...
  14. Assuming to do this I will need the sensors off the engine from the donor as well as the cluster in going from idiot lights to full guages. Also assuming I will have to find a donor with the same engine for this to work properly. Are these assumptions correct, and if so where are the sensors located? Mine is a 4wd 88 Pioneer 5 spd w. 4.0.
  15. So in what year XJs or MJs are these clusters with real guages found? I want rid of the idiot lights too.
  16. You may get lucky and find one in the door panels like I did on my 88.
  17. Mine came with the blue, found bucket seats in tan, bought a parts truck with tan, found rust in my blue carpet so now I'm rockin' the tan interior, all except the dash, I'm too lazy to swap them out... Anyone shopping for a blue interior I have one (except a useable seat and the dash that's still in it).
  18. What would one expect to pay for a clean set of 4 used gambler/sahara wheels? I have a friend with a Wrangler that is getting new rims and looking to sell these, asked me for an offer. I like the looks of them and was wondering what would be fair to both of us? They are 5 by 4.5, is the backspacing the same? I think they'd look good on the 'manche. Thoughts or suggestions?
  19. Tobacco pipes, I have over 1,000. I think I got my first around 15 riding around to junk stores with my dad, that was my only (and I don't think I ever used it for tobacco) until I got married and my wife found out how much I spent a year on cigarettes, she asked if I could cut back or go cheaper somehow, so I switched to the pipe. Tastes better, saves money (at least when you're not buying new pipes every week), and there's a lot more choices for tobacco. Of the pipes I have less than 10 I think were purchased new, I prefer estate pipes (a fancy way of saying used pipes).

  22. PM sent.
  23. Also get the console and the rear mounting brackets for it, it works without the rear brackets but it's kinda wobbly. When getting the console also get the black vent adapter thingy (routes air to floorboards and through to back seat in XJ) that it's attached to or nested in.
  24. Did you ask a question, because I keep getting distracted trying to read this thread
  25. Having just done the opposite I can say for sure that you will need to switch the mounting brackets off the bottom of the slider rails, I have either a blue or a tan bench if you're interested, the tan one even would come with the auto mini console, although the shipping to Ohio would be a problem...
