  1. so i got the wheels mounted and everything actually turned out better than i expected. trimmed the fenders a little bit but not huge gaping hole wheeler status. here's the before picture with my old worn out wildcat 31x10.5x15 and stupid enkei 15x8s , and here's the after with my new cragars 15x10 and my bridgestones 31x10.5x15 you can kind of tell there is stretching but not too bad actually.
  2. okay here's one for everyone. what in your opinion is the best sounding exhaust setup you've heard on a MJ. i have a 2.8 and when i got it was factory to a flowmaster. ripped the rotted flowmaster off and ran open cat sounded raspy and kind of rally car like. then one night we discovered that the cat was getting plugged so we pulled it and put a thrush glasspack with a flowmaster to 3 inch to the bumper. deepest sounding 2.8 ive ever heard. can anyone do one better? and yes i know your inline sounds great unrestricted. :clapping:
  3. ebay man. mine wouldnt run without it
  4. thats generally what i figured. thought that the washer bottle one was for the little light in the dash
  5. well i was planning on swapping the tires over tomorrow. until now. I'm going to swap 2 over to see what happens if it appears that I'm pissing up a rope then i will wait it out on my dreaded enkei/mustang wheels until i can find some 33x12.5s after the lift of course :D
  6. got my wheels today. discovered they are a whee bit wide though. still better off than those dirty nasty mustang wheels on them. got the brakes done too
  7. as ive gone through the front of my comanche x with a 2.8, ive noticed there are a lot of wires just kind of floating around in there. they all seem factory like a have some stuffed between the washer bottle and the radiator. they have plugs but nothing to plug into. theres some by the passenger side firewall as well. were these intended for the 2.5 and i don't have tbi so do i just have the remnants of a wiring harness. are there certain accessories that are intended to go there but didnt come in my trim level? more info on the jeep 1986 2.8 2bbl 5 speed 4x4. anybody have any ideas? pics will be up later.
  8. 4 inch backspacing on 15x10 cragars. so they have a bit of lip on em. I'm planning on using my already fitted 31x10.5x15 bridgestones. with the stupid mustang wheels it fits but rubs some suspension components. so i opted for some wheels with quite a bit more negative offset. i may have gone quite a bit too far in the right direction,
  9. fender cutting. i hate it and i think its the ugliest thing since canopies :fs1: . but as i am getting 15x10 cragars and going for the trophy truck look how can i trim my fenders without making it look like it was done in a highschool metal shop. not a fan of bushwacker flares the factories look the best. any suggestions? i got my wheels and measuring everything out i noticed any sort of turning will result in contact.
  10. this is great. i was about a minute away from buying rustys offroad fender bulges since my truck came to me with butt dimples.
  11. pulled my taco shell of a rear bumper off and started work on my tube bumper. its going to be a long few weeks of swearing a welding :wrench:
  12. this is a good one for you guys who love cheap jeeps. when i was 8 my dad taught me to drive stick on his 86 mj 2.8 5sp 4x4 it was gold and just the coolest damn thing when it came time i bought a 86 comanche x same everything except the color bone stock except for wheels and a cb radio and i loved the thing to pieces until some bastard took it upon himself to completely screw my chevy paint over with his honda keys. so it all took off from there. it started with a pushbar i got from a friend. then a tire blew out which ended up with me pulling the 31s off my friend suburban for free of course. then came new paint. being winter i went with snow camo and then from there i got a hold of a welder and just went to town. headache rack, spare tire carrier, light mounts, and then disaster struck my running gear as i was doing something i shouldnt have been doing in the school parking lot. my almighty dana 35 blew spider gears and my transfer case took a dump right on the pavement due to chain backlash. then came upgraded gearing from yukon and a rebuilt transfer case. then from there came a fancy stereo some boom and gauges. then when i got tired of the camo i got inspired by the comanche club logo. thats right. olive drab green with white chevrons. then came the eyelid headlights, turn covers and taillight covers. all of this i made myself and i would like to introduce my comanche. sarge he gets me anywhere and has yet to let me down or never start. and i drive it like its a stadium truck. 2.8 v6 5sp ax5 np20something dana 30/35 with 4.10s k&n and free flow exhaust to a glasspack and flowmaster.
  13. 17 and not mature enough to stop trashing my mj
  14. damn this is just the best bumper ive seen I'm going to try and replicate it for mine. if you don't mind. looks a million times better than the standard 2 pieces of tube welded together. just great job man 86 mj 2.8 ax5 4.10s yukon gears and lots of late nights "canopies are ugly and you should feel bad for trying to make your rig look like a suv"
