man i havent been on here in over a year. I'm diggin the update for sure. sarge blew a rod and i was forced to sell ive been rockin baja bugs for a while but this weekend I'm pickin up a 86 xls with a bunch of goodies for 700 bucks. god i miss posting up on here :clapping:

i was going to do something similar with sarge putting a radiator in the rear and a fuel cell. never had the follow though or money

well sadly sarge is gone. couldnt get it fixed so i had to sell it :( keeping my eye out for another one though. ive been without mj for about 3 months now and I'm feeling withdrawls.

so watching war of the worlds i caught a glimpse of some "sideburns" that i immidiately recognized. in the scene where they get abducted the truck that tom cruise jumps in is a jeep comanche!

i don't want heavy modification or i would get a 327 without a second though

i am planning on an offy intake and a edlebrock carb

well here is the thing I'm not using fuel injection I'm rigging up a carb setup from a 258 (preference) however I'm not above hammering. the biggest deal is the radiator setup i might order an entire front end conversion from 97+. I'm avoiding the v6 option because i want to run a strong trans and bigger tires in the near future.

i heard there was a problem with spacing on the intake ports on the 4.0 head where theres bumps for the injectors and the 258 intake doesnt cover that any thoughts on how to overcome that?

essentially besides the obvious fact of a motor and tranny what do i need to convert my 2.8 comanche to a 4.0 ive heard core support do i need a new radiator. checklist please.

my biggest thing is i want no electronics i like having an old fashioned setup electric fuel pump is okay but i essentially want a 4.0 with a carb on it so sweet

to keep it short i want a carbed inline six but in my area a 258 it a pain to find but parts are everywhere so how can i get a 4.0 to run off a carb for cheap. sarge needs a new heart and my 2.8 gave up the ghost before i could do anything worthwhile to the rest of the rig. I want a carb. i know all the advantages to FI but its my preference.

pretty much i got a buddy who has the same setup only in a cherokee everything mechanical is the same he claims his will go more places. i told him to fill his hatch with bark mulch and try to go there.

in the brief 2 weeks the jeep ran as i was driving it around ive become familiarized with an odd phenomenon. ive had multiple people tell me that comanches are garbage and cherokees are quite a bit better. these are comments from people with jeeps which threw me off because I'm used to toyota guys hating on my truck but jeep on jeep hate? has anyone had this happen?

i got a buddy with a cherokee who just rolled it he has a visor thats still okay ill see if hell pitch it for cheap

and for making my truck less safe? ive seen guys smoke their lights and people can't see them as well. lift their trucks which makes them more top heavy, add giant apocalypse proof bumpers which don't absorb impact. giant lights that blind people off the road. what makes me so different huh? has anyone ever seen what a warn bumper does to a car? i have i know the damage and what it can cause. i don't need the lecture.

okay really? i ask a question and i get trashed on i do expect a bit kinder words from fellow CC members. but i digress. i have drifted a pickup before and pickups are actually a lot easier due to the lack of weight in the rear causing it to move a lot more smoothly coupled with the fact that less weight means less inertia when exiting a drift meaning less speed wobbles. also its not like I'm going to slide every corner everyday of every week. i know when it might work out and when its a bad idea. isnt the point of jeeps to have some fun? i understand the negative criticism. nascar started as moonshiners and i everyone thought the first guy with a jacked up truck was a drunk redneck. but going screwy sideways is just a little fun on a friday night when i get off work. nothing beats the feeling of having total control over what most people would consider a trainwreck. if you guys keep thinking i should rid myself of my beloved mj because its going to get smashed and I'm going to hurt someone let me ask you this. do you think the first guy to do a wheelie on a motorcycle should never be allowed on two wheels? do you think the first guy to race from light to light should lose his license? I'm not saying that i can't possibly crash I'm the best driver. but i can handle my own behind the wheel of a manche. it is a irresponsible endeavor but like all of you guys said apparently I'm a kid for wanting to see what my truck can do.
