  1. this really sounds like the tps to me had very similar problems with mine a couple of months ago. Ordered a OEM one, had to order it from ohio and have it shipped (closet one i could find to texas) bought it and haven't had a prob since.
  2. just some fishing pole holders that are made to be hung on the wall. I got them off ebay and made some brackets and thats it!
  3. I just picked up a 8.8 for my mj and I was on the search for a 4.10 31 spline one for a while I called at least 20 junk yards and I would say about half of them wanted a old axle in exhage or to pay upwards of a 100 core. I know it's crazy but junk yards are doing it now.
  4. Yes that should be about the ratio you need to run for 31's I'm runing 3.55's right now with 4.0 auto and 32's its not unbearable but i find my self getting 10-12 mpg and right in the shift range on highway.
  5. From what I heard there is not to much to it but I havent gotten that far yet. Keep a look out for a step by step install in my build thread in the next couple of weeks. I hope to have it all installed and rolling over to the local transmission shop to regear the front to 4.10's to match the rear in the next 2 weeks. As far as your 8.8 you lucked out pretty good and have the best one you could of got minus the 4.10 gears. They sell pretty easliy to any body that has a jeep and is looking for a replacement for that turdyfive also.
  6. Sorry guys should have cleared this up. Not all the LEDs are mine. My local collegic Offroad good got a great group buy deal on these LEDs I bought all the ones in the picture but planned on keeping 1 of the 40",20" and 2 of the square ones. I bought the other to flip but ended up selling them to my brother at cost for his jk.
  7. just looked all I saw were hitch style ones. and they are only 20 inches deep.
  8. it has to be atleast 32 inches in depth so I can fit my spare. Thanks for the info Ill look real quick on their web site
  9. I just got some led bars and don't know how to utilize my 40 inch one. here are the LED lights At the same time I'm tired of my 32" spare taking up room in my bed. So I figure I'm going to knock out two birds with one stone and put a roof rack on. After about two days looking at a million racks This is the one that I have found that has the best dementions. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350744360881?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I'm going to order these from jcr and weld some square tubing to them and then weld the basket to the tubing to attach it. http://www.jcroffroad.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_code=J&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=RCKMNTS I also plan on attacking a Hi-Lift jack to the back side of the basket and maybe a small shovel. Tell me what yall think about this. here are some pictures of the truck. Oh year I also have some A- pillar cherokee mounts I got from Detours a while back that I have yet to use. So I'm going to put 2 of the square 3x3 LEDS on the A pillars and I'm going to put the 20 inch LED bar on the center hoop of the bumper right above the hellas.
  10. I have one I'm putting in right now and I just order the 8.8 swap kit from ironrockoffroad.com. It is a great upgrade. Depending on what year explorer your 8.8 rear end is coming from, some are better than others. 97 and newer are best, they are 31 spline and disk brakes. If you look hard enough you can even find one that came with 4.10 gears if you are going to upgrade tire size from stock. 96 and down are 28 spline and drums. Still a good bit beefier than the dana 35 and still worth the up grade. The explorer bolt pattern is the same as the Comanche so you are good there. Also the width of the explorer 8.8 if I'm not mistaken is only about 1 inch shorter. So its not very noticeable and if it is, its nothing some wheel spacers and fix. In my option the ford 8.8 97+ (the one I have) Is the best, easiest, and cheapest swap you can do with out replacing the front axle at the same time and going one tons. Here is a 8.8 strength test. I think it is a very under rated axle as far as strength is considered. The 8.8 can almost hold its own with a d60 The axle shaft strength tested by Warn Ind: F8.8= 6,500 (lb. ft.) D44= 4,600-5,000 (lb. ft.) D35C= 4,000-4,300 (lb. ft.) ------------------------------- COT: Continuous output torque rating MOT: Maximum output torque rating (Numbers from January edition of Fourwheeler, page 60.) Dana 35 rear axle COT: 870 MOT: 3480 Dana 44 rear axle COT: 1100 MOT: 4460 Ford 8.8 28spline COT: 1250 MOT: 4600 Ford 8.8 31spline COT: 1360 MOT: 5100 Dana60 semifloat COT: 1500 MOT: 5500]
  11. Thanks thats what I needed!
  12. I need roof measurments for a mj. I'm about to buy the stuff for a roof rack and I'm not near my mj right now. Could some body give me drip rail to drip rail measurments and from the toop windshield trim to the back of the roof please asap.
  13. yea I know that. What are the tq numbers? all I could find was hp numbers. on diesels tq is usually 2 to 3 times the hp numbers right? that would put it at 100-150 ft lbs still... thats lower than the 4.0...
  14. is it just me or is that thing going to be very under powered?
  15. no sure why the pictures are not workin
  16. Well decided to buck up and run the car fax on my mj because every corner of it has me left with the question of WTF happened here?!?!?! and What idiot did that?!?! well so far that I can confirm this is how it sits today. And how it was when I got it. 1988 pioneer SWB blue 4x4 Rough country 4.5 in the front SOA with 9 inches of lift in back Original 4.0 engine with block warmer KPH odometer listed at 169,000km 2001 cherokee d30 1988 cherokee d35 1991 np231 Trans????? Major bondo work to the back left Minor body work has been done to from left Figured out it has been laid over on passenger side. It has a huge dent/ crease on the corner top of the cab/roof. Trans lines were pinched and patch from where the upper control arm mount must have shoved into them when it laid over and a dent in the oil pain from the same time. Here is the car fax report Hmmmmmmm learned something’s here…. -- Was born in CANADA! -- no structal damage.....uhhhhh not true haha. It has had to have been in at lease 2 wrecks and been profesionally repaired, and then laid over once. --2wd (which I figured it had to have been converted at some point in time.) ---And STOLEN!?!?!?!!?!
  17. Got a count on how many have sold and are left Pete? Just curious.
  18. How cheap do you think he would be able to do the logo for? 2x3 foot? On some sort of plexi.
  19. I have a guy that just recently fixed all my neon beer signs and he said that he can make me anything I want. So I asked him if he could make me a comanche club neon sign. I told him I wanted the logo done on some sort plastic and the the out line of the truck in green and out line the comanche club in white neon. kind of the same general idea as this one. Image Not Found He got back to me with a quote a little bit priceier than I was expecting. 600$ roughly 2x3 foot. He said he won't be able to do much smaller than that. Anyway, I can't afford that. So I'm passing the opportunity to see if any one does want to do it. I can get it done for you and then arrange shipping if you would like. I fig its pretty hard to find people to do custom neon work like this. In my ideal world, money would be no option and I would buy it and then auction it off and give the money to comancheclub.com for a donation.... But unfortunalty I have yet to figure out how to get my many money trees to bloom dollar bills...... This is the work he just fixed for me. All of these were broken and non functional and he blew new glass and other things on them and fixed them for 250. I thought he did good work for the amount he charged me. The star on the lonestar sign was broken and it needed a new one and the local professional neon sign place in town wanted 350$ to fix that one alone. so I got quite a deal with this guy.
