Moving your alternator on a Jeep form the bottom to the top has to be one of the best mods ever done. And I think after replacing 3 of them should be one of the first mods on any ones list to do. There are some really good pics of this on the truck not my not my pics but it’s the same thing. Thanks for the pic rubix-xj Link 1 http://www.naxja.org/forum/showpost.php ... stcount=50 Link 2 http://www.naxja.org/forum/showpost.php ... stcount=51 I just took the pic of the piece you will need and mounted them together because I had the entire piece off already so why not take a pic or 2 before it goes on the truck. So first up what will you need a old a AC mount and an alternator bracket. This is off a renix motor going on a renix motor. Plus you’re going to need your alternator and a little bracket to hold the front off the alternator in place. Plus a couple bolts and different size nuts to space things in and out may not be the best way but it’s the cheap way. So on with the pics. First up is what you will need: This pic is every thing put together and shows the pulley side of the alternator and AC pulley You will see that there are bolts marked 1 and 2 in the next pic you see the spacer nuts need to space the alternator in/out to help align the belt. The next pic is of the rear of the alternator this shows how the old bracket will sit. Then the last few shots are over all shots. I don’t know if this belt # is right but in the link the guy is using a Durlast Belt #770K6 the only reason I say this is I have not put this on my truck I will update this as soon as it gets warm out side.

^^^Sweet I might have to try that.^^^ Here is what i would really like to have I like there brace http://www.rocky-road.com/xjcad.html I wouldn't think it would be hard to modify RC brackets to look like the Rocky Road's. -

Rokhound replied to mjeff87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
they work great only hung me up once but then again the rock also hung up a 44" TSL and I am on 34's here is the best pic i have of me being hung up And here is the video If you look at rocky road i think they have a set for the mjs with the supports thats they only thing that won't work. -
You no what i was saying sometimes you just need to word thing just right around the ladies to get your way :brows:
-
Nothing huge something like the last one i started to build for her but some guy wanted the motor and in the end bought the whole jeep. She was not happy about that but it happens. Plans for it are 4.5" RC lift with drop brackets trimmed fenders trimmed o fit 34's. My plans for it are really a street rig that i can drive out to where ever wheel and drive home.

Well yeah I mean doesn’t the Comanche world revolve around ME. Yeah the MJ is still going little more beaten then the last time I posted some pics but yeah its still going can't kill that 4.0. So you stepped up to 37’s on a 30 cool so have you broke anything yet. I want to get to 38’s but with every thing going the way it’s been going I am holding off on buying/build the MJ any bigger. I got the wife a 2 XJ that I order the lift for and should be here soon so I can get it in the shop and start working on it.

Going from a 5 speed to AW4
Rokhound replied to Rokhound's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
thanks pong I thought it had been asked but at 4:00 am i couldnt find what i was looking for  darn newbie -
Ok guys I don’t really want to give up my 5 speed but I am think that an auto is going to be really nice in the long run I mean its just a mater of time before my stock 5 speed gives up the ghost. I would love to upgrade to the ax15 but the cash flow is not there for me. So how hard is it to but an auto in my truck? The donor tranny is from an 88 XJ so i am thinking that most of this should just bolt in. 1. If I get the complete wiring harness from the donor XJ is it plug in play meaning does my truck have all the wiring there I just need to plug the wires in for the AW 4 or is it going to be more work than that. 2. I have seen the joy stick controller link here: http://www.awshifting.com/controller.htm and I don’t have an issue with running something like this but then I am up to the price of the AX15 So what do you guys think and no I am not looking for reason to keep the 5 speed I am a dye hard fan of the clutch it just I think for trail riding which is what I do 90% of the time there is no need for a 5 speed. So who has done this and what issues have you ran in to. Thanks.

We had a great time this weekend playing around in the truck I think we had about 125+ truck show up for this event we had people from all over Iowa Nebraska and Minnesota. We did have to battle the weather but once the rain moved out it was really nice. My wife said she took like 200 pic or something and like 2hr. of video so I got some good shot of the MJ in action enjoy. This is my truck with XJMJguy I think that’s what he goes by on here maybe not. This is how packed the park was: XJMJguy showing off Same guy stuck rear tire slid out of the rut and he got hung up so yeah I was nice and pulled him up the little hill. Me climbing a hill this was dump on my behalf because I had to get a run at it and as you can see my rear tire came up and I almost went over and that’s a long way to the bottom. Me playing on some rocks up at camp I got hung up going this way but I made it going over the side. And some random pic of guys out on the trail. The rest of my pic can be seen here; http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/vie ... id=6822645 Here is a link to more pics by some one else. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chadreschly
