  1. My uncles gf has some family ties to the dealership, or auction company or something along those lines. didn't pay much attention though
  2. I think its a common side effect of that "jeep thing" we all caught. Found a 92, 2 door, 2wd xj online for 2k...first thought is how can I talk him down to 1000 or less lol
  3. Well, went down today, everythings mostly re-buried from the rain, and way to swampy to dig right now. Played in the mud with the MJ, ended up with a hole in my drivers front sidewall....everyone is right. Mud=Bad things.
  4. Been a rainy week. Got a helluva storm last night, flooded my basement. Going down tomorrow anyway, hoping the waters not too high since its right at the edge when the waters down....here's hoping! :crossfingers:
  5. Bout as good a deal as this one. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/4082347143.html No title, missing most of the front clip, and doesnt run. Dude wants $1000 for it, really? Maybe $500, and thats just because it has nice tail lights and a nice tailgate...
  6. Why would anyone spend $2200 plus shipping for that, when you could buy a parts cherokee, ram, zj, mercedes, whatever, for that price, part out the vehicle, keep the driveline, and use the money from parting it out to sort out odds and ends for more power and/or effeciency?
  7. I dumped 1/3rd in about a 1/4 full gas tank,1/3rd in the oil, and the last third in the bb vacuum line. Drove about 25-30 miles and changed the oil. I wouldn't want the stuff in my oil and longer that that
  8. Totally understand! If I had a truck that clean it would be hard not to bring it in the house and sit in it when I watch Tv!
  9. When ya gettin his bumper to put on there? :brows:
  10. He can use the internet better than both my parents, and 90% of my aunts and uncles. Combined. Good looking shiner ya got there. Didnt break the trans on your head did you?
  11. You don't do a diesel swap for horsepower. You do it for torque, reliability, fuel mileage and the ability to run it on french fries. Well, yes, and french fry exhaust is totally a plus, but, be it hp or torque, still power hungry and the 617 can't deliver the power I'm pointlessly chasing. Although, I've been thinking about looking into the newer electronic injected mercedes diesels, since the mechanical IP is the limiting tuning factor with the 617s. still unsure what I'm going to do, just that i need to do something worthwhile when the 2.8 comes out.
  12. I wanted to do the om617 swap on my 2.8 mj, but the hp numbers killed it for me. What little info i could find on tuning it said that without modifying the injection pump your limited to ~145hp. And its a very costly mod. I'm a power hungry kid so 145 will never do.
  13. No, too much rain, the more unburied half was underwater this weekend. two days tops the water should be back down. Been anxious to see what all is under there
  14. Or just crawl under with a flashlight and look while someone starts it. If its bad, you'll know.
  15. Following that trend here's some tips on how to get to the "quit it" stage Also, some advice on the "hit it" part, if you can't figure it out :rotf:

  17. just because its above the sending unit doesnt mean its not the culprit. with the pressure created by your oil pump, should the sender go bad it will spray out like a garden hose. Crawl under the jeep, have someone turn it one, and watch the sender. Theyre like $2 to replace too. start with the easy stuff dude, more often than not it'll save you time, money, and a helluva headache.
  18. Eh, I'm just paranoid. Though I do agree about the battery life.
  19. Hmmm...bury it back up to the center of the wheel and stick some of those miracle gro stakes around it? Maybe i can a grow a model a coupe!
  20. Pretty sure there wasnt a 5.7 option in the ZJs, but a 5.2 and a 5.9?
  21. Been looking at upgrading to an iphone....good to know. Thanks for the heads up!
  22. The creek near me is rock creek, goes all through independence, but outside of here i don't know where it goes. Plus, unless its odd like the Nile, id imagine it flows south And title....maybe. its been on our land long enough ;)
  23. All it has to do is sit on your property X number of years and, so long as you can prove it, its yours. Dunno how you prove that though.
  24. My 2.8 averages 17 between city/highway driving.Granted, its gutless. Can do 80 downhill...85 if you add in a tailwind. But i can keep up with everyone on the highway. Not necessarily defending the 2.8, just don't want to discourage someone from an MJ solely because of it. With a time and mechanical inclination you can remove most of the vacuum and have an alright truck. Torquey enough to, say, pull stranded people out of the snow in the winter possibly? I've been wondering how well it performs compared to its larger option. Dunno about the snow, but I pulled my brothers XJ out of a pit he drove down into, and tried to climb back out of the 10' high sides. Buried his jeep up to the axles and my 2.8/ax5 pulled him out no problem, in 4high because i don't have 4lo
  25. When you coming over? Rob Hey MO isnt too far...
