Bumpers and sliders close to complete. Just gonna add small stinger to front. Gonna pull the locked 4.10 axles and install them into my 2000 XJ. MY 89' XJ already locked F&R w/4.56's. Got a set of axles w/4.88's locked, sitting in garage, ready to install in MJ. Also have set of long arms being built for installation! I'm sold on the LA's after wheelin' my 89XJ. Added a couple pics to show why. (yes,I know, limit straps next) Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found

WELCOME to CC, you've found the best site on the web to help or assist you in anything that comes along during your build. Can't express enough gratitude about the rest of the guys in this club. Enjoy the ride!!! ko

Didn't stop short of the CCV system either. Got up early and pulled valve cover, cleaned ports and reinstalled. Just waitin' now for an XJ friend to call to go wheelin' for a few hours. The nice thing about livin' so close to the Rockies, only a 30 min. drive to Eagle Rock/Saran Wrap off-road trails. If anyone is interested, there's a video on you-tube of a toyota wheelin an obstacle that I've taken my MJ through. Needless to say, I was mighty proud of her.Just Google it or go to you-tube site and type it in. Thanx again for all the help!!! ko

SUCCESS!!! Fuel pump, rear main seal, oilpan gasket and no leaks thus far!
-
Thanx MiniBeast!!! With a custom made punch out of a old Craftsman screwdriver and your encouragement of "don't be afraid to hit it", the seal is now on the floor!!! This is Exactly what CW's thread in the Pub is all about! Thanx again!!! ko
-
Can't get upper half of rear main seal to break loose! Tapped on it ,tried rotating crank, tied getting seal removal tool around it(won't go). Not sure how hard to hit punch, don't wanna mark crank. Any suggestions? Also, where the seal seats, there is a fine black line, is that some sort of micro groove? If so,mine has a very small smooth spot in it. Hope that makes sense. Was hoping to go wheelin tomorrow and check out my fuel pump install, but things are lookin bleak right now! Thanx, ko

I'm in total agreement, one AWESOME site!!! Don't get on as much as I like, but when I do, it's like family. My only regret is that I havn't had the oppurtunity to shake each and every hand of all of you! Thanx to all!!!!! ko

Hood Vent Install Opinions
ridergoatee replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just a little heads up on using jigsaw;sharp blade and don't let the metal start "rattling" under your saw. Sheetmetal is weak and I've seen cuts distort the metal. Heard mounting them up higher on the hood helps keep ice off windshield in the winter. I'll see this winter since I'm bound to see some of that here in CO.. -
Hornbrod and wildman  THANK YOU! In my haste to put everything back together, guess what I forgot to PLUG back in! Yep, tranny control! Right there under kneeboard panel!!
-
Thanx wildman, Why would the tv linkage need to be adjusted? What did I do to change that? With that Q asked, I could have quite possibly knocked wiring loose, will check, and you say that the aw4 box is behind kick panel? Thanx again
-
Swapped column shift to floor shift along with guage swap.Everything went well, swapped tranny cable too. Problem now is the tranny as no get up and go while in drive, like bypassing 1st and 2nd gear, nor will it kick down while in drive. If I take off in 1-2,the get up and go is there. Haynes manual mentions something about adjusting TV linkage. Does this sound right? Thought it would be simple swap. Column shifter and tranny was in park when I swapped, hooked up floor shifter while in park. Am I missin something? Thanx for any input. ko
-
One more follow up question. Am I lookin' at possibly only a pump and or sending unit too?
-
Will do,thanx again.
-
Looks like I'll be installin' a fuel pump Sat.. Thanx to all!
