Had a 4 banger 5 speed manual once, did well once I was off road. Problem was driving and pulling the mountain passes to get there! Think I'll stick with the 4.0's unless I decide to trailer.Here's a pic of my ol' 2.5L 4 banger. Not long after I sold it,new owner T-boned a Dodge p/u and totaled it! :doh:

:agree: I found that one place it always happened, that was a good spot on city street and returned there after the TB bracket repair. Was like you,cringing if it was gonna return! At least it was a good spot to pull off the road. Got my confidence back after no DW!!!

The Track bar and mounts caused DW in both my MJ and XJ. I now check both after a day of wheelin'.

I've had no luck at all with the red tops, heard yellow tops are better.

Fuel tank,spare tire carrier,e-brake bracket and shocks need to be removed 1st. Believe there are 6 bolts holding bed down. there is a thread in the tech forum. do a bed removal search. There's pic of bolt locations.
