  1. I need to get into the auto moving business.
  2. If there's no indication of it running hot other than the gauge, could be a bad sender.
  3. Side by sides or UTVs are very popular here. Farmers use them to run the fence lines, haul buckets of feed......whatever.......... My mother lives among a lot of 'hobby farms' and folks all use these to run around and visit each other. People drive them into town to the PO, to the store, see the neighbor, caretaker to lock up the park gates........whatever.......... In Gatlinburg they are popular to rent, below is a pic of the rentals that got caught in the fire back in '16. Yeah, they would be a hot seller round here.
  4. Pretty cool, I like it. SxSs are driven on the street here, even tagged.
  5. No one has asked what OS he's running and when it goes down what will he replace it with? What I'm curious about is if he's using Windows 7 and goes to 10, will the backup even communicate with 10? Will 10 recognize 7? I don't think so.
  6. I use my phone as a camera. Pic is saved to phone Saved to cloud. Saved to desktop. Saved to Picasa (cloud) Saved to imgur (cloud) I have 5 sources that the pic is saved to, automatically. Docs can be saved to cloud or thumb drive. Other than some PDFs and whatnot, there really isn't anything that I need to save externally that isn't already in the cloud to begin with. All bills, bank statements, accounts, mortgage and soforth are accessed on their end, not mine. If I had a doc or work related file that I wanted to be kept private, separate, saved externally..........thumb drive.
  7. No, that's not what a cloud is. https://express.google.com/product/8529075216510143694_15865451208042565506_6136318?mall=WashingtonDC&directCheckout=1&utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=product_ads&utm_campaign=gsx&dclid=CJO6wZ7VzNkCFUM-TwodcIwMZg
  8. Look into personal cloud devises. Acts as a personal server, backup, you can access it anywhere on anything.
  9. I was trying to be nice. I was telling a little story to get him to think. He can get his own personal cloud, I looked into those back when photosucket pulled their stunt. $200 IIRC for a decent one. My mother is Don's age, she's stuck n the mud too when it comes to tech. No, I don't know anyone who uses an external for backup anymore. And with cloud based backup/storage........I have access to everything, desktop, tablet, phone.......no matter where I am.
  10. This is why this place gets lonely.
  11. I'm not going to answer your question directly, however....... I have 3 hard drives in a drawer, combined, they have well over 10K images from my gun building years. I used an external to backup, the external crashed too, it will not communicate with any other computer, cannot be recognized. I could send them off see if any of the files at all can be recovered, but at what expense? I'll never own another HP devise. As I stated elsewhere, we have multiple computers, everything is shared among them, all my files are stored on the cloud. Some people don't like doing that but.......... Computers/devises are disposable to me now.
  12. This is the style I'm looking for, only 6 gauges of course. http://newvintageusallc.mybigcommerce.com/
  13. Not to bash other sites........ Actually, I'm quite literate, but I read pictures, I study pictures, pictures tell me just about everything I need to know. I don't think there are 3 guys at NAXJA that own cameras, or know how to use one. Sites have cliques, also. Either you are in or you are out. Pirate, it's just hard to follow over there. I'm not hung up on vehicle specific either, a lot ideas can cross over.
  14. First, grind off the squished portion of the strike from the back of the original and pull the U shaped strike from the plate. Trace out from a '97 strike on a piece of 1/4 plate. Mark where the U strike was, holes. Moved the top hole over 1/2". Moved the bottom hole down 1/2". Elongate the plate. Make one, scribe to another to match, countersink opposites sides to make a left and a right.
  15. No, not for sale, I don't don't have an interest in that. What I meant by 'pushing' is forcing my ideas into a forum.
  16. I agree. Maybe 'Custom' would be a better forum? I have a '70 Challenger R/T dream with a '88 MJ budget. So I'll be the guy that gives his MJ a muscle car feel. Wish there was a Muscle Truck forum somewhere...............
  17. Don't miss my point. I'm rarely understood because I don't explain myself. I've scoured just about every Jeep forum there is looking for ideas that are unique. My POV is rare among Jeep people, I know, however, not everyone is into full cages, 4-links, portal axles. I'm looking for unique and creative ideas.........one-offs, the little things, anything different and smart. I'm not pushing my strikes, not the point, I'm saying I'm looking for examples of- how you work around a problem, how you improvise, odd parts source, better engineering......that type of thing. That's my idea of epic.
  18. 97 doors without butchering your B-pillar............as so many have.
  19. I think my custom strikes are pretty damn epic.
  20. I'll take a stab at it- Since you can get a speed sensor code........I'm pretty certain that the speed sensor input goes to the TCM then the PCM. A primary reason that I'm going GPS when I order my new cluster. Should also free me up to use a later TC, no speed sensor, I'll have to look into the compatibility.
  21. 15" When held up to the factory 3 spoke, spokes and diameter are a pretty good match. GT does not have a Jeep logo button, they do have plain buttons that I could add a logo to but I chose theirs.
  22. It's a GT Performance wheel, not a Grant. https://gtperformance.net/ No, I'm using the same primer and base/clear as I'm using for the rest of the truck. Plastic sands out smooth, I'm not worried about leaching oils or expansion/contraction, I don't think the factory worried about it either.
  23. Lock and arrow are gone.
  24. That's really awesome, man. Looks like a really fun car.
  25. Companies like idit and Flaming River use a bezel that is crowned and makes up the difference where the switched replaces the key cylinder. Whatever they do, they ain't telling me, so I had to come up with my own way of mounting it. The hole is just slightly larger than the switch itself. I ground off the points of the nut enough to press it in the hole. I used JB Weld to epoxy it in. Use a syringe to apply a bead around the top. I used heat to melt down the JB Weld. Tomorrow I'll sand the epoxy down smooth and begin sanding out the 'lock' and the arrow off the housing.
