Tylerjy's '90 Eliminator Build
TylerJY replied to TylerJY's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Pulled seats and center console from the '99 donor today, apparently a mouse got in there and there were little turds on the passenger seat, i also found about an inch of standing water and a soaked carpet on the passenger side, guess a door didn't get completely shut. -

And i thought i spent a lot on my rig :) -
I was planning to run an engine oil with ZDDP added, I believe the Rotella oil from Walmart has a decent amount? I am also planning on running the Comp Cam break-in oil while i break the engine in. Edit: After doing some research it appears I'll have to have the head machined to use the CC valve springs because the installed height is different, so that makes the MP springs more appealing as they have the same installed height as stock.

Are you speaking of the spring pressure on the ones I linked? Comp Cams does state that you can't use stock springs with that camshaft.

Thank you for the reply, I will have to get a quote for port matching the head and intake.

In preperation for the '99 swap, I am rebuilding my 4.0, I am starting with the bare block from a '93 4.0 and using everything else (head, water pump, oil pump etc.) from the '99. I have a few ideas of the components I am wanting to put into this motor so if you guys could take a look and shoot me an opinion that'd be great :) http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=CC&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CL68-232-4 http://www.northernautoparts.com/ProductModelDetail.cfm?ProductModelId=25149 http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CC&Product_Code=926-12&Category_Code=A6Valve http://www.northernautoparts.com/ProductModelDetail.cfm?InventoryId=97353 I'm not sure if cam bearings come installed on the new camshaft, and I still need to locate some freeze plugs, but I think everything else I need is located in these 3 links, I am mainly interested in hearing what you all have to say about the Comp Cam and if that is a good replacement. Also, is it worth it to have the head ported and polished? How much does that usually cost?

I have a '99 XJ w/ blown motor and a '90 MJ, both with the 4.0L The 4.0L in the MJ is a HO because it was swapped with all the wiring from a '93 XJ, now I am looking to rebuild this motor. Here's my question, if I go about rebuilding the '93 HO will I be able to use all of the wiring/sensors/dash from the '99 in my MJ? Basically, I want to rebuild the '93 motor, and while it is out swap everything from the '99 such as dash, interior, wiring, etc. Once the '93 motor is rebuilt can I just drop it in fire it up or am I going to have to do a bunch of work with the connectors and everything? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got a Vi-Air compressor for the MJ. No more hour long tire refill sessions at the dunes.

They make a crate big enough for our adult Irish Wolfhound, there's crates out there big enough lol.

The only way I could pay 7k is if it had the following: 4.7 Supercharged Stroker w/ 0 miles on it. Rebuilt tranny w/ 0 miles on it. Atlas Transfercase w/ 0 miles on it. Full 97+ swap with no flaws and custom gauges D44 front and rear, 100% rebuilt Locked front and rear Flawless paint Then we could talk 7k.

Starting my spare tire/exo addition build. -
Someone on this forum owns the MJ.

Almost had a similar story. I was pretty close to buying my grandpa's Cummins, but I wouldn't sell the Comanche, having a tow rig would be my excuse to make it a trail-only rig.
