  1. this swap may not happen! My girlfriend threw 3 Comanche's to myattention. For saleup near her place. I'm going to look at them today. One has to be a 5spd/4.0/4x4 :D
  2. Mine is falling off, so I don't mind haha.
  3. yeah, I'm still debating that.. Plus I can possibly get a SWB 4x4 ds for free from another guy from the club. The motor will go in seperate from the rest of the combo, seeing as Id just like to do a new clutch/flywheel, the chain on the tcase, seals/gaskets, new ujoints in the axles along with balljoints and seals, brakes will be yanked off the old front axle. I'm yet to get the axles so I'm just biding my time, but want to cut my losses and get rid of the chattery 2.5L. the one I'm getting has 140 +/- psi on each cyl. 100, 000km on the motor. Its a good deal.
  4. They are scared of you, scott. you do evil things to parts
  5. Pat, I'm not going to put the tcase/trans in now for the simple fact that we wanna have the motor in in one day. Yank it frm the YJ, into the MJ with the Oil and Temp sensors (if the YJ has guages instead of idiot lights) Its meant to be a simple swap. I'm going to build a special set of skid/rockrail/trans crossmember. Ive got all the metal and hardware, just need to weld it together. removable skids that slide into lips on the rockrail/crossmember. The rails act as stiffners. I'm getting that D44 with the longbed driveshaft cheaper than what the SWB driveshaft would be ($90 for the DS and $150 for LWB ds and D44) It'll all come together over the summer. I'm keeping the waterpump and fan off my old engine, distribby too. The intake/xhaust mani, rad, mounts and such are being kept as spares. Ill have a good chunk of spare parts, plus a usable t-case/trans.
  6. Awesome, I just got a 100,000km freshened 2.5L out of a YJ, along with a AX-5 and a 231 transfercase. I'm going to take a weekend, me and some guys from the Belleville ORV club are meeting at a members place, yanking the 2.5L from the YJ, implaning it, along with the clutch from the AX-5, into the Comanche with the 4spd till I can get ample time to do the 4x4 conversion. (namely I need axles and a drivershaft set) Should make for a good weekend, me and my girlfriend are going to assist in the teardown of the YJ, the yanking of my motor (Which will be disected then junked) the swappage of the clutch. We'll complete the MJ first. We'll be taking the oil pressure sensor and temp sensor out of the old motor (idiot light dash in the MJ isn't ready to be replaced yet) Where are the temp sensors on the 2.5L?
  7. a 4x4 driveshaft for a SWB is the same for a 4.0L/AW4 as a 2.5L/231? I know of a rear ds I can get for $50. from a 4.0L/AW4 comanche. Will that work?
  8. I can get the front/rear 4.10's axles from a YJ. Along with a tight 2.5L/AX-5/231 Can I use this setup with my stock rear driveshaft? for $200 I can get the drivetrain. can I use this setup?
  9. I like whats in the back of the truck in the river picture
  10. 'Course I'm getting caught. My school has no shame. You streak, they laugh. 'cause I know. I left my clothes in the mud at a big football game and sent my naked body running in the opposite wearing a school flag. I'm good with my schooling, Unlimmy :P I was tired. On my local forum I spelled it right. but on bathroom fixtures. hrm. jb welding a sink and faucet setup to the principal's door would be funny.
  11. its a done deal. took my old man's cordless sawzall and spit out the u'ies. Hauled that sucker out and the office guy said $125! with this money, my MJ is getting a new gastank ala me. My friend just got a tig :brows:
  12. I have an old toilet. Ive measured and timed and me and a friend can get that toilet into the main lobby in 10 seconds, from a hidey spot behind a bush outfront of my school. and just place it in the lobby. Then leave a message on the Principal's door asking for our toilet back. its going to be magic markered with the class year on the tank lid Whats everyone think? nothing destructive.. just some fun

  22. 1.08/L on the reserve just outside of town. thank the arsehairs of a moose that my MJ can do the trip to my girlfriends house (80km one way) on 2/5th a tank the fact I also removed about a ton of rocks, mud and general crap from in and under the bed may make my mileage better, but I converted a cold-frame for plants into a handy-dandy holder for my spare oil and tools and fishing gear so that may do something. Who knows.
  23. I just noticed that today as I slow-cooked in my MJ. Holy flying bbq's. its hot. but I need to make a mount for my CB radio I just aquired today. Its too damn hot.
