I didn't write the law, just noted that it exists here; and other states/cities may have similar ordinances.

I would suggest checking local law before applying that decal. South Carolina state law: SECTION 56-5-3885. Unlawful to display obscene bumper sticker. (A) No person may operate a motor vehicle in this State which has affixed or attached to any part of the motor vehicle which is visible to members of the public not occupying the vehicle any sticker, decal, emblem, or other device containing obscene or indecent words, photographs, or depictions. (B) Obscene words, photographs, or depictions must be defined and interpreted as provided in Section 16-15-305(B), ©, (D), and (E). © A sticker, decal, emblem, or device is indecent when: (1) taken as a whole, it describes, in a patently offensive way, as determined by contemporary community standards, sexual acts, excretory functions, or parts of the human body; and (2) taken as a whole, it lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value. (D) A person who violates the provisions of subsection (A) is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be punished by a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars.

Sounds like a plug I unhooked when I was removing the fuel rail for some injector cleaning / o-ring replacment. IIRC, there were 2, one for 2 wires, one for 3 wires; both near the firewall, running across the motor. Sorry I can't be more helpful. :dunce:

I like beer. It makes me a jolly good fellow. I like beer. It helps me unwind, and somtimes it makes me feel mellow. Whiskey's too rough. Champagne cost too much. And vodka puts my mouth in gear. This little refrain, Should help me explain, As a matter of fact, I like beer. -lyrics by Tom T. Hall-

It should be a simple matter for the site admin to activate the chat. In the administration pane, about 3/4 down the page is the chat config area; just click on configure and check the "no" box. (The default setting is "yes" - disable chat.)

This is the patch job that was on mine when I got it. I have repainted it so it's not so noticable. old paint new paint -
Finally got a day off and replaced the o-rings on the fuel injectors, and cleaned tham a bit as well. not the best pic, but you can see by this one, they were gunked up pretty good there was also a bit of corrosion on one of the electrical lines Between the new o-rings, clean(er) injectors and a new fuel filter, it doesn't seem to want to die anymore while at idle. tomorrow the new to me bumper goes on

This site has several kits available, most are for the XJ but a few are listed as MJ specific. Some name brands competitive with Rocky's prices from what I remember seeing. http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/jeep_XJ.htm

I seem to have developed a leak on an injector: The arrow shows where the leak appears to be. Are these repairable? Or just replacable? I have a spare truck with complete motor. (Looking for the cheapest fix of course  )

Oizarod, in Atlanta traffic, wouldn't it be more practical to figure how many hours you can sit in a traffic jam on a tank of gas? ;) :teehee:

I agree with Stumpy, money ain't everything. If you are paying your bills now and are generally happy with work, I wouldn't change. I've had jobs that payed almost twice my current income, but I was miserable and my attitude poured out to the family. I make less money now but enjoy my job :D , and my family enjoys me (I think ;) ). -
This might make ya sick....I just bought a Comanche for $400
4play replied to red_eyed_rider's topic in The Pub
I put out $900 (total) for 2 MJs, not too bad. -
Manual to power steering swap.
4play replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When I swapped from manual to power on my old YJ, I just pulled the box and pump (with the connecting lines) from an XJ. The lines were an awkward fit, but worked. I also had to get a longer belt (I think also from an XJ) to run the pump. -
Got mine THANKS :D now to get to the post office so you get yours

I guess the 2wd wouldn't have a D30 up front  Sorry, I usually think in a 4wd mindset.
-
You should have the Dana 35C rear and 30 front. I have looked at the Rough Country web page and did not see a 3.5" lift available, but did see a 3" available. "Recommended Tire Size 31 x 10.50". http://www.roughcountry.com/Jeep_MJ_3in.htm

Something like this: Image Not Found (yes, my photo editor and my editing skills suck, but you get the idea)

I think I like putting the MJ-87 on the front 1/4, but either area could look good. However (on the front 1.4) I think it may look better moved forward a bit, more centered.

The potential for complexity had crossed my mind, so that supports the search button being a more practical option. Thanks :)

So, anybody know more about propane than me?
4play replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
"Propane does not increase your gas mileage. The rule of thumb is that a gallon of propane is equal to 9/10ths of a gallon of gas. " quoted from http://www.gotpropane.com/p1.html. These people are selling full conversion kits. I would have thought it would have been much cheaper too.
