Cool thanks for clarifying for me. I'm thinking aal and fromt coils for now then soa and bigger front coils and all the goodies as I go.
-
Ok so just to clarify that is 2" of lift with the 1.5 shacles or just from the aal?
-
Avoid the 180 notorius for tranz and rearend problems these were rvised withe the 240. But a jeep or an old AE86 toyota corrola is what I wuld be looking for. Or a integra. Just my opinion. But yeah get rid of the dsm clutch is lipping now so it must have some miles syncros are next then bearings then the whole tranz. O and I forgot a celica from 91- 93 is a cool ride if ya can find the gts.

just wonderd if this wuld work i have a spare set of xj aal laying around and wuld like to save some cash on a lift. suposed to be either 3" or 2.5 they came with a superlift lift kit that was 3" so I'm gussing 2.5 considering it was also a levaling kit if I'm wrong let me know. but back to my main question will it work?

do you still have the catalatic converter on your mj if so it may be getting cloged and choaking the engin under throttle. my 1999 grand am did this aswell as my 94 xj took yhe cats out of both after dumping considerable cash in them. just make sure that you are not in a state where the cat is reqired. -
no babying here. so it seems i am good with my 2.5 ax5 combo. if i ever upgrade to the 4.0 then i will look for the ax15 behind it. so my 87 dakota trans looks nuthing like them any idea what it may be? nevermind i went and found the tag on the dakota trans its a np a535 trans these any good?
-

-

man if i only had the pics of the one that came off mt xj it came off in 2 peices that rubber ring that is looking bad on the one pictured above was only in 2 places. makes me glad the fuse went out for the alternator and the batery died so i had to trailer it home. not so glad however that i didnt realy need the new alternator. -

Iv had a lot of fun on mountains. I used to pick up capmers and transport them back to iowa I have passed so many chevys lol going up and down hills with a ford f350 4x4 with the 7.3 turbo deisel 5 spd in a 97 and auto in a quad cab long box 01 f350 with same motor. I wuld realy like to hit that road when there's minimal traffic I love to drift windy roads lol. -
That's what I was thinking. Kind of sad to see it setting there.
-
Realy a d44 wuld be cool. Iv got a chiltons book that covers the xj and mj and it dosnt cover the d44. Front but does cover the d44 rear.
-
Got a resistor on my 86 its on the firewall between map sencor and brake boster. And its a 2.5.

A cobra 29 will fit up by the sun visors nicly that's where I had mine in my xj it was a lil tricky getting the visors down but liked how its conveniant to reach up and turn it on. I have mounted them on the side of the tranz tunnel I don't recomend it its always in the way no matter what side it is on. And the ashtray is cool and workes well but I hate going to reach for it and the shifter being in the way. So my opinion is buy ya some sungloasses and mount it up by the visors just be sure your on the suport there and not the windsheild frame where its gona crack and not to far back where its going thru the roof.

Gauge cluster lighting ?
duster1971 replied to Paul Bruchal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Imo the white faced gages are useless unless they are indiglow or completly differant gauges all together if I can find the pic of my 94xjs dash. All the stock gauges were removed and replaced with equis gauges with the backlit white faces looked prety good. I used the factory gauge bezels and plced the guages in them. Looked like a semi dash lol it was fitting considering I had put peterbuilt emblems on it. -
a 327 huh why not go for the 304 amc engin or a 318 both are bullet proof and run hard that and they are both amc/chrystler.

Short shaft or Long Shaft? Clutch MC Question
duster1971 replied to hamilton's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Oreilys is where I wuld go they can get them or even an autozone can for 30$ unless ya have neither in your area. But wuld effinantly try some local parts stores. As for the long or short shaft iv never seen any questions asked like that when I was looking online or when I called to see if they had any in stock. -

question about spare tire tool/jack handle
duster1971 replied to jteckmann's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Cool then I have a handle lol glad somebody knew this I bout junked mine. -
I never used to be into jeeps but when I seen my first 95 2door I fell in love snaged a 94 2 door it was wonderful then some bad things started to happen had to let it go got a chevy broke it got a ford junked it after many miles and good times getting stuck lol was actualy looking for a small honda or some thing thaught what the heck looked for jeep on craigs list there she sat my 86 jeep comanche had to have it called the guy up next day went and looked at it that weekend drove it home havnt been happyer.
-
I do not beleave the 2.5 trans will work as I think that year still has the gm bolt pattern on the bell housing. And as for keeping the comanche I say go for it you have 800$ in it now you said you like it know it or not you have alrready made up your mind lol. Its some thing bout these trucks they almost chose you instead of you chosing them.

my best advice is to find a local glass place and see if they can have a peice cut and placed in the existing window for you either that or find another rear window. i culd of had the glass orderd but they said not unless they had the window to compair it to and seeing how mine is completly gone i can't have any peices cut for it wich sucks big time. the rear glass seems to be the most common brokin glass :fs1: . mine evin has the drivers side vent window busted out and replaced with plexi :( i have a spare but just my luck its passenger side.
-
No go for glass sorry guys I tryed. The other 3 comanches I have seen in my area all have. Single slider windows in them. Mabe yours was orderd with double slider idk culd just be year of the mj aswell.
