For sale 88 Comanche.
H3RESQ replied to Bitemybag's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Looking good Jason. You should think about bringing it out to No Roads Required at Portland International Raceway on Sept 14th. It has become a pretty big and great event. I know Seth and I will both have our MJ's there along with my new XJ probably. Should be a great time. PM me if you want. Can't wait to see this thing again, enjoyed checking it out at Liberty...but I think its time to plan a run together.. -

Ya, it is pricey. But its good. Keep in mind your getting new rod ends, etc. too. Also the nice thing is if you bend the lower tie rod ( I have ran this setup on a few rigs) you can replace just it. Most companys don't sell there modified steering set ups part by part. Also....keep an eye out you might find a used one on craigs or Pirate. Make sure you can check the rod ends though, there exspensive in themselves to replace. Also, if you ever get rid of it, it will hold its value well. I know I sold a used one for about $300 once. $500 bucks, Holy Sheet  -

I'm pulling the Currie 9's and Tera case, tires/wheels, etc. out of the other xj for this xj, along with some other odds and ends. The rest will get parted out..motor, trans, interior, etc. Maybe bumpers and lift depending if I decide to go with new one's. -

You can't get much easier than Currie Correct Link setup. Its basically a burly bolt in version of what you have. http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/product.aspx?id=1219 You might also check out KevinsOffroad. Kevin is a great guy and has put a lot of time into the "death wobble" issue and how to fix it. http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/cart/tj-death-wobble-package-for-1-to-35-of-suspension-lift-p-1080/ -

Well I mentioned earlier that I am looking for a clean XJ to put the Currie axles and Tera kit out of this beat up XJ in. I think I found it...heading this morning on a two hour drive to see if it is what it is said to be.....CLEAN 2001 Jeep Cherokee LIMITED....oh, and its SILVER....so ya, I might be building a XJ twin to sit next to the MJ!!!!!!!! -
I would like to see who has the lowest odometer reading (legit)

How much irony is there in the fact that I have a Jeep Comanche Eliminator, and I am 1/32 Comanche?????? Luckly I am not 1/32 Jeep Comanche, I am just Comanche....

Gosh that is one interesting headliner in that thing. Looks like they had a lot of fun that day.

Super excited.....I picked these up today for the MJ (Along with some new Cooper STT's) The current MJ wheels and tires will go on the family XJ wheeler. These new one's are at powder coat now and should be mounted up by later tonight. I have always thought these would be a great wheel to bring a little old school to the MJ. Can't wait to see them mounted. Now I just have to hunt down a 5th one for a spare.. -

Honestly, my truck never had a heat issue. It has always done fine and has never overheated. I honestly can't remember the brand either. I think I just went in to Cute Rate Auto Parts and ordered one up that would fit my application. I don't have a oil temp guage so there is really no way of knowing. I just figured it couldn't hurt to have one on there. -

Can't find any pics of it on the 39's (I'll look through my old school photos and see what I can find. I know I have some) Here it is before the 39's when it was on 37 boggers. These are some old school pics..... -

Well we will see, he could not find the title. He had a notarized affidative so we went straight to court house and transferred title. I will know in 4-6 weeks when it arrives if it is actually a clean title. He said it was, but honestly...who knows till I get it. She is a little banged up on the outside, but very clean inside. -

Well I spent most of yesterday, and tonight working on the 99 xj I picked up. I pulled the ARB bumper and roof rack. Reinstalled factory front bumper, and re attached the two drivers side factory fender flares that were off as well ( What a pain the factory metal clips are, to do it right you have to remove them completely, attach the flare and then re bolt them to truck. Not awesome when they have been on the rig for years.) I also pulled out drivers seat and re-welded the frame (it had broke around one of the bolts) and completely vacuumed the interior. Cosmetically it was back after this. So then to work on the check engine light. It idled rough and seemed to be missing. I pulled out my OBDII reader (actually I brought it with me when I went to buy it, incase a light came on during test drive, so I knew the code prior to purchase) and it came up with a cylinder 2 misfire. Went down to autozone, bought a set of plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and a injector after work tonight. Figured start at the plug and work your way from there....well it was a bad plug, so that was about 5 minutes work and returned the injector (went ahead and threw new wires, cap rotor on it to be safe)! The thing runs extremely well (better than buffy to be honest) Auto shifts great. Ran it good tonight to see how it would do and then let it sit at idle for good hour. No overheating, no funny business, Seems to be solid rig. Also noticed it has a brand new alternator on it. Starting to like the $900 purchase price now!!! Had hope that it was something simple but knew it might be a bad piston or something worse case. Tomorrow I will swap out the IPF lights on it with Buffy (my xj wheeler) and it will be ready to sell. Well.....except I have to wait 6 weeks for the title. So...guess I will have a little parts runner for awhile and continue to tinker with it. (still needs a fan switch, only works on high. The passenger rear window motor isn't working, may just leave that be though.) I really just plan to put it up around $1500, that's half kkb fair book value (has 163k miles) so it should sell fast and someone will get a good deal. The ARB bumper is up for sale. The ARB roof rack and IPF lights are going on Buffy. So, pretty happy with the purchase. If it were a little nicer I might keep it, Its got a couple dents, scuffs, and such but is fairly straight, drives great, has good tires, brakes, etc. So figure it will be a good rig for someone that needs it, that would not be the type to risk a purchase with engine light and rough running as I did. -

Oh boy Oh boy Oh boy, going on a scenic wheeling run with Willy (reason46) this Saturday. For your guys sake I hope he is better about taking pictures than I am :) I'm getting excited for Saturday already! -
Welcome to the forum. Do some research before you choose your lift. There are a couple companys out there that you should steer clear of. Keep in mind that the front of lift on your truck is same as a Cherokee, so the short and long arm options are endless. The front of the lift is were your $ will go, lifting the rear is cheap on a Comanche so look at all the XJ/Cherokee lifts, search the companys and peoples feedback on there products and make a good choice. The big names, got there for a reason. To use an example...Rock Krawler didn't get the best feedback on there lifts for awhile, but they listened and got there $#!& together and the current lifts are way better than there first gen lifts, joints, etc. There a good example of a company that wants to produce a good product. Rusty's wants to make there $#!& better, but just can't seem to get it right. Either way, welcome.....and we should all apologize now for the bug that you have just gotten. Once you have a Comanche you will always want one, or at least be wishing you had another one....for the rest of your life. It just is what it is, and there is nothing you can do about it.
