Just picked up a running and driving 99 xj for $900 with a ARB bull bar bumper and a large ARB roof rack w/highlift shovel mount. SCORE. Roof rack is off and about to pull bumper. Then back up for sale. -

Well I am casually on the hunt for a clean 00/01 XJ auto, limited preferably but would consider classic/sport with low miles. I plan to transfer everything over from Buffy to the clean XJ and then I guess just sell Buffy with stock axles, t-case and what not. We will see how it goes, I like this XJ but I am just not the type to drive a beat up rig, nor do I like giving the impression that I don't tread lightly. This XJ has clearly not always treaded lightly....lol. -

Well Kate and I were on a Sunday drive today. We cruised up through Tacoma to look at furniture and car lots. While cruising down South Tacoma Way I looked in my rear view mirror to see flashing lights. I was getting PULLED OVER!!! Crap I thought, got the little butterflies thinking what I possibly did wrong (well besides only running my mudflaps when it rains and it was not raining). Well anyway, pulled over, and got my license out, and was getting my reg. and ins. card out as officer approached the door. Handed him the I.D. and he simply handed it back and said he didn't need it. At this point I think he might have had a slight grin, knowing what he was up to and me not knowing. He played it out a second longer commenting on my lack of mudflaps......then finally says "I'm a friend of Williams, I have seen a bunch of pictures of your Comanche while helping him with his" So to my very happy surprise I was just getting pulled over to allow us to meet and talk Jeeps a little. SWEET!! He was a super nice guy and I am planning to try and meet William and him for a casual scenic run later this month. Good times, thought I would share. I hope he didn't mind ( I don't think he knew ) Kate snapped a picture so here it is. Actually now that I think about it I don't think he will mind, cause Kate took a picture of us in front of the Comanche with his phone right before he left.........and I am guessing it was sent to William immediately to tease...lol. -
Will my 98 xj t-case (2wd/4wd version) 5 speed manual/ 4.0 bolt up to a 99 xj aw4 auto/4.0 t-case (also 2wd/4wd version) I just seem to remember one is 21 and one is 23 spline but hoping otherwise. Cheers, Jason

I think the idea behind the knife is you want to give them $ as well in case they don't like it. The dollar ($) will keep the from stabbing you with the knife that was a gift they didn't like. Edit...wait, that doesn't make sense after re-reading his superstition. I don't really understand that one.

Well Brandon and I had an adventure yesterday. We got to Evans, aired down to only 14lbs because well, I hate BFG's and don't trust there sidewalls, and second they are on a 10inch wide rim so they are bound to blow a bead. (anyone that wheels knows a narrow rim holds a bead much better, notice the little 7 inch wide wheels on my MJ) Anyway, started running up lower 311 and the XJ does fine. Started running upper 311 and Turned the tunes down and started noticing every rotation of the driver rear wheel would release a little air. Well, I guess I had not noticed the small slit in the curb guard. If this were the MJ I would simply have aired back up to 30psi and it would have stopped the leaking and we would have driven out. Well by the time we made it to the top of upper 311 we were running flat. What sucks it I FAILED, I know better but I FAILED. I didn't have a compressor, a spare, or my highlift. So....we made it out of trail and started the walk for service. Made it to the campground...I was able to get a text out and then we just started walking out. (we did have a backpack with cold water and snacks so we were fine, well except the fact were old and out of shape...lol. Anyway we made it about half way to cement and Jamie came flying around the corner with my spare and the highlift off my MJ. The day saved. Took about 5 minutes to get the spare on. Point of story, go prepared. What should have been a 10 minute delay turned into about 4 hours and a sore knee and good nights sleep like a baby. Just cause its Evans ( I consider easy wheeling ) or some old gravel road or whatever, always bring your stuff that you have. You just never know. Anyway here are a couple pics. The XJ actually does really well, just had a bad tire....and confirmed again why I hate wide rims and BFG's... -

So, my trip changed up a bit. We were about to leave Truckee Sunday night to head to Lincoln to say hi to my Parents and sister, after that we were going to run up the coast through cali and into Oregon. Then cut across to Tillamock to hit Browns camp for a final day of wheeling before heading home. But......Sunday after loading we brought Micah and Corey to dinner before heading out. While sitting eating I got a call from Kate. She was sitting on the side of the road on hwy 18 in the Yukon broke down. She got a tow from there all the way home. I felt I needed to get home and make sure everything was ok, and Yukon is fixed. The kids were a little upset sitting on side of the road and Kate stressed after they waited nearly 2 hours for a tow truck. So Brandon and I bombed home Sunday night and into Monday. I must say I was pretty impressed with the MJ. We averaged a solid 75-80 mph the whole way. (got a video I'm trying to download, I suck at this kind of stuff). Anyway got home looked at the Yukon and concluded it needs new Catalytic converters (ya 2, f-ing exspensive). They will be here Friday....and she should be good to go. Well in all that I am now home and sitting around waiting on parts so Brandon and I are bringing the XJ up to Evans creek today for its maiden voyage since I purchased it. I'll post up on other thread how it does tonight. Great trip, even though it was cut short. We had a blast and I am VERY proud of the MJ. Drove it from Wa to Ca, drove it hard at the dunes, and ran the toughest part of Fordyce in both direction, and played on the Rubicon, after all that I bombed it home. There were 0 issues the whole time!! To me that says a ton about the MJ. SOLID! Cheers, J -
yes sir. I'll pm you cause I need a new sticker for the MJ too...

I think I got this Youtube link to work. Here is the MJ on some one and a half deep or so whoops at the dunes. (FYI...guy in side by side was asked to wait, but wouldn't....but hey it shows my jeep can turn while ripping the whoops...lol) -
So was on an off shoot road by the end of the Rubicon (Lake Tahoe side) and I ran into this. Parked, took a picture and continued on. (Didn't have a pen, or a CC card, SORRY) Just thought I would see if it was a members. Clean white short bed....

Just gotta pay attention with the little 35's. Got a ton of attention on the trail... Ill get some pics up soon...but as always I sucj and didnt get hardly any...was busy wheelin! -

Played around in Florence today. Great time. Were in Yreka now. Here are some pics and a video going through some foot and a half or so deep whoops at speed. The quality is awful but I am working on getting better one on youtube. -

She is loaded up and ready to go. Noticed a small drip yesterday (antifreeze), after inspection realized the overflow bottle for radiator had a small leak. Through a new one in along with fresh fluid in the transmission. I think she is set and ready....I am off work today at 2:30.....boy is it gonna be a LONG day at work till 2:30 rolls around!! -
Heard rumor this is changing location to Portland international speedway. Anyone know if that is true?
