  1. looks worse than expected. I have a colapsed lifter at min. number 1 exhaust starting tear down...
  2. Looks like I'll be working on the MJ today after work. Was heading home last night to a all of a sudden popping of the motor. Looks like I got a leak at the header gasket or crack in the header. ...and yes somehow I will attribute this to the mud. Just one more reason to keep me from every doing the stupidity again. :rotf:
  3. Thats sketchy. Glad you pulled over! Looks like its time for a dana 44!
  4. Beautiful truck!
  5. Throw the ideas at me, I'm open minded and have yet to decide exactly how I want it.
  6. Gosh I love those ten spokes! Favorite jeep wheel ever made! Run them, or send them to me.
  7. I use pam cooking spray, old show car trick. Problem is that it was just to much mud. I still got some cleaning left to do in the engine bay. After wheeling I simple green the axles and such, let sit for 15min then house down and re-grease all zirks. also....on stradaline...I would hold out for them to get more done. At $15 per rig and $ 5 per person ($20 by yourself total) there just isn't enough to do there yet.
  8. I agree, it needs cage work. I'm a safety guy..it will have protection for me by Moab trip.

  10. Well, I think my detail guy hates me...but I'm loving him!
  11. Um, i give them props....but better than porn. Hmmm, whats the tissue for!?! lol.
  12. Ive seen a 5.2 (dodge) and a 5.7 (chevy) in cherokee's. I personally still believe the ultimate swap would be chevys all aluminum 5.3. I think its about 80lbs lighter and will get you 21+ plus freeway MPG and around 300hp.
  13. Mj is getting a steering fluid flush tonight, new serpentine belt, and hopefully the tranny, t-case and axles on thurs or friday. Guess the mud has been good for the MJ in the end. She will be looking good, and well lubed when I'm finished. The 10 min. of mud has will end up being 12+ total hours into cleaning and lube, etc. Looking at the Metric Ton on friday around 2!!
  14. The Metric Ton I mentioned earlier....
  15. Thats so funny you say that. I was talking to the gal that rode with me and telling her I would have prefered the passenger door damage than the mud, that it would have been easier than what the cleanup on the mj will be for me due to being so anal. (two guys mashed there passenger doors on the rock section)
  16. Well mud is showing the toll its taking on my MJ. I work on Monday nights at a local tavern bartending and upon leaving my volt gauge dropped to nothing. Got up at a rough 7am (worked at Skep and Skien till after midnight) to try and clean up the alt better and see if I could coax it back to life....but to no avail. I had a buddy pick me up a new alternator today since I'll be here at my regular job till after 7 tonight. Should be putting it in by around 8:30 tonight and hope to have it up and going again in the am. The good, the battery and such gets taken out for ease of alt instal. This will allow some good time to clean up the engine compartment some more tonight and let it dry out for a early morning install of new alt. Ugh, late night and another early morning since I work 10 to 7-8 every night this week. Got mud? Keep it, I'm no longer interested in it. Cheers, Jason On a side note, I've been eyeballing a Metric Ton comanche running around my side of town. Finally saw it parked yesterday and left a note, the guy responded today with....its worth $900 to me, if its worth that to you we can work something out. I'll be looking at it friday. What I know now.....It has a d44 rear, 4.0, Puegot 5sp thats tired. Motor has 265k (or at least the chassis does) and its 4x4 and a long bed. I'll post a couple pics I took shortly. It looks straight and clean
  17. Amazing! Love the bed, beautiful MJ!!!
  18. I would be in my MJ, but can't because I'll be in Moab wheeling from Aug 26th to Sept 12th. The Moab trip has stole my budget for big summer trips. (I'm not complaining though, can't wait) If you have not been on the Rubi yet, enjoy. Its a great place. Some of the pictures above are from when I took the WJ there with a group from Mallcrawlin.com. Good times! Make sure you hit up the rope swing when your there!
  19. And make sure you put some side supports on those (especially the passenger side long one!) upper link mounts. Those need some serious triangulted support or you WILL bend them eventually.
  20. Well after 2 1/2 hours of cleaning I remember why I have not hit a mud bog in over 7 years. I spent an hour on the engine compartment alone and still have more to do there. Got all the main mud off whole rig and cleaned my winch line. I figure I still have about 5 hours of cleaning to go, then re do the diffs and all lube points. Mud just isn't worth it. The gal riding with me thought it was though, but probably because she isn't cleaning it....lol. Here are some pictures, we went to stradaline orv today. We had heard that promoto promotions had taken it over. They are adding a few area's specific to 4x4's. There isn't to much yet but it should continue to get better as they keep cutting more new trails. I didn't get pictures of the rocks or trails, but did get a couple from when we were playing in mud and on parts of the tough truck course. Cleaning..... But.....had to save the best picture of the day for last.....
  21. My god, we've created an MJ monster! The force is strong with this one. Rob :D Haha, ya 4th one already.....just can't help myself.
  22. We would be ok with daily picture updates......just saying!....lol. I'm way to excited about this build and seeing the final project. Who is the lucky driver for UA? Can I buy a raffle ticket or something for a chance to wheel it? Any crazy chance you'll have it in Moab between Aug 26th and Sept 12th....I would love to see it. And last, can I buy it in 2 years after it finishes its circuit around the shows?!?!?!?!
