FOLLOW UP : after checking battery cables , i found the positive terminal was very loose , after cleaning and tightening both terminals ... it didn't seem to help ,tested the alternator ... it was CAPUT ! looked original , so i guess i can't complain . got a replacement at advanced auto ( napa was out of stock , a/z said "they couldn't get them" ) and we're back in business ! thanks for the input guys !!! :banana: . :MJ 1: .

  4. just repainted my rims (silver) last summer but really liking the chrome (stainless) on black ! nice mj ! :thumbsup: . :MJ 1: .

  7. hey guy's , my need a little input on this one ... recently i've noticed on my morning ride to work , my headlights , fan/blower motor ( even radio will cut out ) have been dying down , then back up to normal , then my lights will get a little brighter then go back to normal , ect ... ect ... seems to be charging fine ! it's been a rough winter , i figured with cold and heater full blast , high beams , on everthing working extra , might have been making things "act up" , but now that's it's a little milder ... it's still happening ... i'm thinking VOLTAGE REGULATOR ??? my truck is a 4 cyl/4 sp and runs like a clock ... anyone have any ideas ??? thanks ! . :MJ 1: . :dunno:

  10. i have an '87 4x4 that i'm slowly redoing , the rear spings were shot ... bent, half of one was missing ,sagging horribly ... found a good used set , took them apart and added a "add - a - leaf " from a xj kit i had . anywho , while at the local AZ i noticed these chevy drop shackles that alot of guys use ... reassembled the springs and shackles using the second to the last setting ( on the shackle ) , i went from 3 inches below stock height to at least 3-4 inches over stock height ! no more sagging @$$ end ! :banana: . :MJ 1: .

  20. hey guys , just noticed an early (87-88?) dodge dakota p/u for sale relatively close by ... anywho , noticed the bed looks very similar (w/the exception of the tailgate) to the comanche's styling , wheelbase , gas filler , etc. has anyone done this swap ??? just throwing it out there ! . :MJ 1: . :banana:

  22. in between flipp'in burger's today , i managed to hook up and ground the taillight harness ... guess what ? WOO-HOO ! SUCCESS !!! fired right up ! ( no burger's were lost in the process ) thanks again guys for the help !!! :cheers: :banana: . :MJ 1: .

  24. hey guys ! been slowing redoing an '87 4x4 long bed (6cyl/auto) anywho , bed is off , so , of course the tank is out ... cleaned and painted frame , replaced broken leak springs , new shocks brake lines ect ... hooked tank back up to move truck ( repainting cab while bed is off ) now it doesn't seam to be pumping / getting power ! will start w/starting fluid but not getting gas ... everything was working fine before i removed the bed WHAT HAVE I DONE ??? i'm i missing something ? or has the pump s*** the bed while the tank's been out ??? any thoughts ??? thanks ! :hmm: :???: . :MJ 1: .
