Vegas is probably a bit too far but as of friday a local yard had 3 trucks with rust free tailgates. They list the price as $82.50

One of the best things ya can have with ya is a ham radio. it has plenty of frequencies and alot better range than a standard CB. It can come in real handy if your in a remote area where you have no cell signal or your cell battery goes dead. I can ALWAYS pick up somebody on some frequency no matter what.

Saw 3 in the junkyard yesterday. Probably soon to be crushed unfortunatly. lot of good parts left though.

I got a diamond plate gull wing box behind the cab. With its contents I can do anything on the side of the road from electrical, parts swap, fluid changes, etc. Basically I can do anything that doesn't require a lift, hoist or heavy jack. I have a mix of tools from cheap to name brands.

bleed some more and if that doesnt fix it, replace master/slave. had the same thing with mine with a new clutch installed so it wasnt the bearing. swapped both master and slave at the same time so not sure which one was the cause but it cured it.

Junkyard or craigslist. I found a guy on CL parting out an XJ. I got the full console with cup holder insert, a $150 grant steering wheel and some door pieces all for $20

Yeah Jim, that would be the easy way. Reason for the swap is the PO (for whatever reason) put in a column from an automatic so I've been dealing with the key release and having to reach under the dash for that rod to release the ignition. I got a line on a manual trans column for $20 from a 95 XJ but its non tilt but it would fix all other issues. I'll prolly get it anyway just for the price and see if it can be done. Would really like to keep my tilt if at all possible.

Anybody know if you can take a MT non tilt column and swap parts from an AT tilt column and make a MT column w/tilt???

Your exactly right. If somebody is dumb enough to use 60 course they deserve to have screwed up lenses. your on the right track, trial and error. I'm sure there is a method to it. Hell, maybe even try a wet sanding theory.....

No joke on the sandpaper. It was shelbyluvv that suggested it when I met up with him IIRC. Also have heard it from other sources. as far as "products" out there, I have yet to find one that actually works as well as they all claim. I havent personally tried it on tail lights but I bet its the same concept as using steel wool to polish motorcycle fork tubes. I've been doing that for yrs. It may sound crazy to some but it DOES work.
