  1. How to measure a cylinder sounds like you got a good deal on that head  what year is it ? hope you had it professionally Cleaned & magnafluxed to check for cracks! visual inspection is not enough
  2. :agree: W/ your dad if you are doing the control box you will need the coil. i did some research for the 1990 & go with the PN: 8207 MSD Blaster SS Coil you'll need to hack the factory connector off and attach the black wire to the primary negative and the green to the primary positive. black->white, green->red I get slightly better mileage and a better throttle response. MARGINAL gain.
  3. ya a friend runs the hella h-4's with HID's they are a quality housing with good cut off, which is desired with HID's. so the autopal housings are not like the the other projector housings that have bad optics? &
  4. :agree: ya i thought it would be good logistics to keep it light. :smart: with non of the 4x4 parts like transfer case with linkage , front drive shaft & D30 or D44 front Axles. :dunno:
  5. you need the H-4 H.I.D bulbs ballast's, they will fit in your autopal housings. sorry i think the autopal housings are projector also.
  6. it true the drivers here in cali don't pay attention or care anyway. Yeah, that's the problem, they kinda work with the regular bulbs but with HIDs all they do is blind other drivers and make vision worse than stock. It's basically a reflector housing with a magnifying glass that only succeeds in totally f'ing up the beam pattern. I was disappointed to say the least. At least they were cheap. That sux! :(
  7. what i meant by ''like a strobe light''. is ''When I turn them on they may or may not light up, or only one light at a time. The other light comes on when it feels like it'' sounds like you have a 22yr old head light harness with less then 12V? try touching the wire directly to the battery to test :hmm: i don't know if The $39 thin ballast lights are crap though. :dunno:
  8. i would love to see it  sounds like a bad @$$ build! link: How to: Uploading your photos into posts. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11077 Testing Area: Uploading your photos into posts. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=5
  9. i did some research :agree: DOT 5 silicone is used in hi performance Break system's & Clutch system's if you go With Dot 5 silicone in ether of these system, Bleed out all the old Dot 3 form the system thoroughly!
  10. sounds like a nice setup! & a lot of work to swap it out, :( keep positive anything worth doing is not easy
  11. codymanche good buy! for $15 & nice green color!
  12. now i have to swap the trans! i contacted T&J to ask about there ''2WD S/Y/E'' for the AX/15, but they WANT $2000.00 for it :fs2: 4x4 swap is the way i will go!
  13. i just went through i similar thing. ever thing went well with the swap & i drove it back to LA CA from RENO NV with no problems, then the next day went to move it, & can't put into gear or it's very difficult to. i filled the master cylinder & checked for leaks found Nothing :hmm: swapped the clutch master cylinder & bled it & checked the condition of the clutch line. was not that moved on to the slave, got it warranted from a local NAPA
  14. :agree: :smart:
  15. i recommend ordering some hella 500's for $34.99 to $57.12 for a quality housing W/ great optic's & easy to convert to H-3 H.I.D' bulbs. And if you use the cheaper ddm tuning Bulb's & ballast's for $40.00, you are still way under the price of those ''custom accessories'' light's :thwak: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=hella+500&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=11583620845748756926&sa=X&ei=q8eeTePQIbHOiAKApoXvAg&ved=0CCIQ8wIwAQ# http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-Slim-Ballast-35W-or-55W
  16. that will work !
  17. please post some pic's  can't wait to see
  18. i don't fab professionally, it is a labor of love. toke me & a friend about 22 hrs each bumper :hmm: for steel about $210.00 each because i used 1 1/2 DOM tubing 120* wall race speck tubing ''over kill'' what is expensive is all the fab tools! :wrench:
  19. thank! butt the test run didn't go so well! about 35 mile's on race course B & i got a strong smell of gear oil, last 4 pic's is were the fun stopped! trying to tests the front & neglected to bump stop the rear. sending my drive shaft S/Y violently in to the trans, destroying the rear seal & cracked the rear trans housing. i limped it home! Johnson Valley to LAX = 154 mi, 2 hours 47 min & spilled 4 quarts of oil on my catalytic converter!
  20. not between the hood hinges where they mount to the firewall, butt there is 3 shims on each side between the hood & hinges.
  21. you need the H-4 H.I.D bulbs ballast's, they will fit in your autopal housings. I don't know what SubSonic payed? :hmm: but paying any thing to have some one to plug in a light bulb is paying to much! take out the halogen H4 bulb, put H.I.D H4 bulb in housing, glue ballast's to inner fender walls & plug in wires to head light harness.
  22. when you had a shop install your H.I.D's how did they mount your ballast's? the best way i have found is to glue them to the inner fender wall with silicone & with an 1/8 to 1/4 thick it also work as an isolator. pic's of the 4 glued to my MJ pic's of the 2 glued to my XJ
