  1. They are a required engine for pony stock dirt track cars. You can build them up pretty nasty!
  2. I got into the tattooing scene for a bit. I just loved the American traditional style of tattoo art. Here are some watercolor spitshaded paintings I have done lately, and some tattoos.
  3. I used to work at a classic car lot before the credit crisis. Whenever we got a new car in, and it had a folder of receipts, we added them up. The total amount was almost always staggering! But never matched up to what we paid for it, or was asking it for. Putting money in any rig to make it nice, or just the way you want is just a labor of love. Excpecially on these little niche market Jeeps that we love so much!!
  4. Well... They were wrong. If a Comanche gets into Barrett Jackson it is officially a collectable. Time to buy them up!
  5. Some guys from the shop I work at went to Scotsdale to sell some muscle cars for a customer. Today while walking around the staging, they sent a pic of a Comanche to me. I looked through the list of cars run yesterday. Found this. I wonder if a low miles stocker would have brought that much. http://www.barrett-j...x?ln=52&aid=466
  6. You don't even know how fast I could take those wheels off! It would be like a nascar pit crew!
  7. I drove mine to work today, and actually got to roll down the window because it was nice outside!!
  8. I don't understand either. I have always wanted red interior. I was very happy to see it in mine when I went to look at it to buy!!
  9. I miss the WJ :wall: Your right. If I had a rig and could only do 1 mod....it would be lockers. I would take a stock MJ with stock suspension, 31's, cut to hell fenders, and lockers over a high quality lift, 33's or 35's, and open diffs anyday of the week. (and 31's and lunchbox lockers would cost less than the high end(long arm, no blocks in rear) and 33 to 35's) I have just started the fist phase of the same build. I bought a 2wd MJ, (cheap!) have added 2" front pucks, an XJ front end, and 31" muds. I am now saving money for big boy parts. Meanwhile I will have great fun wheeling it as is till it grows up!
  10. Lets see proof of the stuffage on the grand. Pics!!

    top speed

165 mph in my 1997 bmw M3. The Comanche only got ran up to 70 once. But my '73 Jeep Commando is downright scary as hell going that fast!
  12. Oh yes. It is about a 79ish half ton. Original brown paint.
  13. I added a new comanche club sticker on the windshield, and then made it earn it's keep! Hauled in $155 worth of scrap aluminum. Also, look in the background of the picture!
  14. He has a 401 AMC engine in it! I would love to drive that in the dunes!
  15. @comancheBP. That is exactly how I am steering towards my mj build. What size springs do you run front and rear? Are those 37" tires also?
  16. @MJCARENA, I can only dream about that small amount of surface rust in my truck!! I live where cars have that much rust right off the lot when new.
  17. mnkyboy looks like he has the right set up. That way the only weak part is the bolt on the sway bar U bracket, which would be easy to carry a spare, and quick to change out!
  18. That's what she said!
  19. I aired down my rear tires to about 8 psi to get around in my driveway, and the lot at work. They still have like 3" of ice from crappy plowing, and 4" of fresh snow on top of it. Man I wish the trans and Tcase installed themselves before the weather hit.
  20. I agree with "jpnjim" The Humvee is just the military Jeep we know and love evolved through the years. Next incarnation will probably be built by the guys at Howe & Howe fab shop. Since no one else makes kick @$$ stuff anymore!
  21. With the 2wd to 4wd conversion not finished yet. This is how the Comanche looked. When the wifes TJ got stuck here's what it looked like Here's my Commando to the rescue. We got between 15-20" of snow around our parts.
  22. I drove to the scrap steel yard today to load up some dana 60 fronts for $75 each. Only to find out they wouldn't let me use our torches on the trucks!!!! BS!!!
  23. Cheap and easy fix. Try replacing the front turn signal bulb sockets to the newer style ones. I had the same problem. Two sockets and some butt connectors later and it was fixed. My old ones looked good, but were back feeding electricity.
  24. Has anyone seen the hotrod gremlin in the B movie "munchies"? It does some killer burnouts with a little old lady driving it while being harassed by monsters!
  25. I will use the dana 35 until it breaks then either buy an 8.8 then upgrade the fronts shafts. Or buy a bronco to use the 44 and 9 inch, and scrap the rest. Either way I need to sell my Cobra to fully upgrade the underside. I also want to dual case the 231 with a dana 300 after an axle beefing.
