my lower control arm bolts are rusted to the steel tube in the rubber bushing so I'm going to have to cut them out. I know they are metric and will be expensive if i can even find a hardware store that sells metric bolts that big. Will a close fitting SAE bolt fit well good enough to use? I'm not even sure what diameter the metric bolt is so i thought i would ask in here. thanks

A police scanner so i can get away before the cops show up  -
my passenger window is the same way. the dude that owned it before me put a hose clamp on something inside the door so it won't roll all the way down. sticks up about 2 inches and you can grab the glass and pull up while cranking and it rolls back up.

I orderd some stuff from rusty havent had a problem yet. when i orderd my fixed LCA's i thought they goofed and sent me ones that were to short. called them up to make sure they sent me the right arms and the guy on the other end was very friendly. turns out i did need the shorter arms cause i was useing stock uppers. he said he would swap them out if i wanted but it would throw all my front axle angles off and i would need longer uppers. stuff i have orderd from him... 3"HD coils 3.5" AAL Air tube Lower Control Arms Weld on Shock Mounts........ these were the only think that i dident care for they are cut from 2" box tube and had to use washers so the shock dident flop around... not that big of a deal but I'm sure rubicon express mounts actually fit

Pelican - Drought Pelican - Last Day Of Winter Red Sparowes - Buildings Began To Stretch Wide Across The Sky, And The Air Is Filled With A Reddish Glow Red Sparowes - The Soundless Dawn Came Alive As Cities Began To Mark The Horizon i recomend thoes tracks for a first listen, they can be found on limewire -
Home Depot is kind of expensive i might try to make my own adjustables but i need to brush up on my wood welding skills first

you don't have to drill anything, just roll down the window and remove the nut that holds window to the window regulator so the glass will go down as far as possiable. pull back the upper rubber seal so you can tilt the vent window back then lift it out

The rear brakes probably don't work very well with the inverted rear prop valve. looks like someone was articulating the suspension lol. Image Not Found -

Did you hook the reverse lights back up? when i swaped a NV4500 into my YJ there was wireing for a nutral saftey switch that was looped back into its self through a weatherpack plug. and my YJ wouldent start unless it was pluged in... i don't know if MJ's/XJ's have this, just a thought -
there is a bad connection with the fuel gauge that will make it peg out. the Tach should work probably a bad connection there too. When i swaped my cluster for gauges everything worked except for the oil preasure gauge that i havent got around to fixing yet.

Rust repair on wheel wells
jeepthing07 replied to once red's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't like bondo it holds moisture and just makes things alot worse in the long run. I used fiberglass resin jelly on the doors of my old CJ7 and its holding up well. you can buy it about anywhere and its for marine use for boats and stuff. -
that really sucks, do you know what caused the fire? looks like it could have been leaky fuel injector o-rings. did it ever smell like gas while driving?

here are some pictures of how I'm fixing mine with cut outs from 2 door cherokee fenders, front fenders would probably work just as well. the fit its pretty nice but if the metal needs replaced the whole way around cherokee metal is not a direct fit. -
I took the coverings off my bench and the metal rods in the back that run through the foam were broken in sevral places and pokeing through the foam. So i pulled back the foam in all the places that the rods were broken and shoved pieces of pop can behind and on the sides of the rods and coverd the foam with damp towls and welded the rods back togeather and it was nice and firm again. I welded it close to the garage door so if it caught fire i could throw it outside and dump a bucket of water on it but i never needed it. Welding that close to the foam was an extreme firehazzard so i wouldent recomend it unless you don't mind burning up your seat or maybe even your garage.

I did it, stripped the paint off the bedrails with aircraft stripper, then por15d them then scuffed it up and prept it all VERY well. I like the results this is the only pix i have of the rails

I called rustys about the LCA's i bought from him he said that if i used the stock upper control arms that 16 1/4 LCA's are what i need and they would work for up to 5.5" of lift. and that i would need longer uppers with 16-3/4 LCA's. just letting you know
-
I orderd fixed LCA's from rusty for a 5" lift and they sent my arms that are 16 1/4 long.... from what i have seen they should be 16 5/8 so i need to call him back i guess. I have a feeling this is gong to be my first bad rustys experance. I went diging through boxes and found my oblong canister from the 4.0 and it has 4 lines, 2 on each side. I think it has 2 seprate canisters in 1. so you could just use 1 side of it and leave the other side alone. i don't really know what it goes to maybe the axle disconnect? or the vent controls? I never tracked them down.
-
my 89 2.5 had the round ball canister and my 89 cherokee 4.0 had the oblong one... I think the oblong one has 3 lines while the round one has 2

Where did you get your steel whip Pete? I been looking for one but i can't find anything but fiberglass except for a junky looking steel whip for $25 from radio shack. I want to find about a 5 foot whip that basicly looks like a long radio antenna with a spring.
