  1. Thanks Pete for cleaning this up  The above reply's are more to do with what "statement" I was passing along. Boilermaker reply is something many of us spoke of back when the C4C was going on, at the time, there were tons of XJ's in our P-n-P yard, for the allotted time they were allow to keep them up, I'm sure that time has passed. Yes, parts are going to be far and few, and hard to find and pay for in the future :(

 Another change of plans from the big wigs :hmm: Yes, I'll cross the fingers for ya, but I bet you'll miss that morning/evening commute......... :teehee:
  3. Whoa, can we get more details? Rob L. Don't get too excited there Rob  Yes, Mill supply handles body parts, but are just a "retailer" from the Sherman Parts, and others like Keystone (LQK). They have the same parts listings that the corner parts store can get for you  Although I've bought parts from Mill, their a great source for Telco and Whiting roll up doors :D And carry alot of hard to find parts for your Walk-in vans. You might need them for you day job for supplying parts :brows:
  4. And if you just replaced the dome lights with some off the shelf lights, you could have them wired wrong, with using the always "hot" wire. Read thru this - viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3490

I'll check that '87 2.5, I got with the wood deck to see if the cat looks any good. I think the junk man got the other one off the '86  You know I don't have too many 2.5's in the crowd over there. And you know the price will be right for ya :brows: It's just getting together with you

    diesel ?

Jeepco.........you planning a trip up to the North country for that treasure chest????? But, I got one question for you.........the pictures show a manual tranny........I always thought the diesel only had an auto tranny with that combo???? Did it come either way, or was the manual the main tranny for the 2.1 diesel????
  7. Ding - Ding - Ding!!! You hit it spot on Dave  Yes, I know some people like that, and now there in the dog house.........and this was even before they got that 1099 from the dealer on the $4500 credit they got, and had to pay taxes on that "bonus" too :headpop: We all talked about it back then, and now the reality is hitting home
  8. I'll chime in on that :D Here a link for checking the TCU and the solenoids = http://www.transonline.com/transdigest/ ... index.html It's step by step and easy to follow ;)
  9. :agree: CRL is one of the few company's making quality sun roofs  And........for your viewing pleasure - http://www.crlaurence.com/crlapps/showL ... tory=21809 If you need a price on any model, drop me a PM and I'll quote you a drop ship price, include you zip code.
  10. So.......I'm over at the shop this afternoon, and the repo man pulls in his shop with what looks like a 9 month commander on the hook........ :hmm: how long ago was that cash-4-clunker thing :hmm: Last time I talked to him, he's really busy now, and talking about renting another building over in the compound that my shops at.........slow times = busy times for the repo man  With all my Jeeps........I don't have any coupon books with any of them :D I've also heard that the used car business is drying up with a lack of trade-ins available :(
  11. :hmm: And the foot lights weren't added at some time :dunno: like I said, who know with these things........so many options, and also the dealer could have added something :dunno:

    diesel ?

That's like so rare, and if you can swing it and have the time to get it up and running, and a place to store it..........Yea, I would grab it up at that price. Even if you need some of the hard to find expensive parts, you have some room to do it with......price wise.
  13. :agree: The OEM step bumper and tube bumper were "options" back then, just look in the FSM, under accessories, and it tell the "dealer" how to install them :brows: Some states, like NY required them.......along with the front license plate bracket. The rear license plate light mounted to the rear apron was "stock" off the factory floor, unless the rear bumper was checked off. And......to answer the poll........some OEM's some FEY's after markets........a real mix on my fleet.
  14. Jacked it up, and crawled under it the first time since winter........trying to figure out where the burned gear oil smell is coming from :hmm: Ended up topping off all the gear oil spots.......check the bottom end out to see what fell off this past winter. Did find the front right U-joint is shot :fs2: Next month.........time for total service on the 'ole girl, getting it ready for annual inspection again
  15. Easy.......stick you head out the window, and use the rear view mirror on the side of the door  From what I've seen, the lighted vanity mirrors came with the "lighting package" which also included the floor lights, and I think the under hood light. Who knows, these things had so many options that could be added.......I guest, anything is a guest :dunno: BTW.........Nice grab there Rob
  16. Yea......but lifting by only one wheel don't get the thing move into place :shake: mvusse, you should of had the forklift with you when your MJ decided to let that front wheel loose......at least you could have got home then :teehee:
  17. Yea, that's it  Works for me :hmm:
  18. Hey..........you were posting about lifting MJ's........So, I just added one of my Lifted MJ's :D Ain't no different talking about which lift kit, or what machine did the lifting........I think...... :dunno: :teehee:
  19. There is a "repair" kit hanging in you local auto parts store in the "Help" section, it's the O-rings and the replacement quick dis-connect. The OEM quick dis-connects are not re-usable, and should be replaced with new one. And No, I don't know the part number off hand :dunno:
  20. Go thru this article to test the TCU & solenoids to see if that could be one of your problems..... http://www.transonline.com/transdigest/ ... index.html
  21. :hmm: must be a common problem with these ole girls. I thought the ignition switch was causing the drain, but it could be one of the wire that feed the gas solenoid, coming off the starter relay :dunno: I guest the disconnect switch would be the easy solution, plus act as an anti-theft device too :D Yes, the 'hood' is not that easy to open all the time  Gee.........I don't think we did a :hijack: here.......did we......... Man.......your on your own on that one :shake:
  22. That's exactly what the ole girl is  It's tight, been re-sealed before I got it, had a couple little things that I had to fix, like the clutch linkage, re-wire the lights and have the starter re-built. Only problem I have, it has a draw on the battery when it's sitting, can't figure that one out :hmm: so just disconnect the negative when it's parked.
  23. Me think you missed this last week  viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23463
  24. Most of us will not flame you....... You asked for help, we offered, you couldn't do it, and before you busted something else, you took it to a pro to have done. Nothing wrong with that.
  25. The brake lights are tie into the hazard lights. The wire runs from the pedal switch, up the steering column, thru the hazard switch, back down thru the fuse block, and out the rear......simply put. To save alot of cyber space here, I'll give you the link to the scans I have from the '88 electrical trouble shooting guide, concerning this. Yes, you are going to have to trace down some wires, and Yes, you better take care of the fuse box problem before you add even more problems
