  1. I sure can when I get home! This was a old picture I dug up. I'll definitely make sure to get a good picture of it
  2. Mine was bought a Stuart Bowman in Asheboro and has remained there since. To me it's so cool to think this little truck has roamed my town for almost 4 decades
  3. Lol no. I believe his was shorter. The newer vehicles I have noticed have shorter beds
  4. Here's a picture I took a while ago when I was working a part time job. This dudes Gladiator made my truck look like a toy
  5. I mean I drive my truck like a old person. It doesn't see over 55 on the highway hence why I keep it off of there best I can. I stop at most if not all yellow lights to avoid a accident and always keep almost 10ft ahead of me so I can brake. I drive as safe as you can possible. I even take scenic routes/long ways to avoid traffic as well and when parking always park far away from everyone so there's slim chance of getting hit/dinged. It's not full proof but it definitely helps me for sure. I also leave in plenty time when I go somewhere so I can just cruise and enjoy the ride and take my time
  6. Oh I seen this on my Instagram! It's a very nice truck. I got the post saved too. It popped up a few days ago
  7. Lol he's just a safety freak. It's how he was brought up I guess. Does everything with extreme caution. I told him he needs to enjoy himself and be safe but not overly cautious. If anything he should be more scared of the Monty because in that it's easier to speed and not know it than the truck. I think drivers Ed has him scared straight with those car crash videos they have you watch. But I did tell him to loosen up and enjoy older vehicles before they're gone or to expensive to buy/work on
  8. Yeah I'm not at all deterred from driving my truck by no means or scared of it. I just initially thought it maybe had air bags, but maybe not. I really love enjoy driving it. One of my younger cousins that had just got his license REFUSES to ride in the MJ. Even when he asks me to give him a lift he always says "bring the car, don't drive the truck" and it's so hilarious. He's a bit of a safety freak. He loves old cars. Won't ride or drive one because of the lack of safety features
  9. Lol I don't mean it in a bad way it's just a funny way of imagining it in a way. It's a metal box on wheels that has a transmission and engine and looks good
  10. I tried to get a accurate estimate of mine and I never could get an idea. Just tire kickers giving out low balls of 2-4k. It has no rust and is all original. Paint is faded and the interior looks brand new with 179k miles with new rad, hoses, starter, plugs, plug wires distributor cap and rotor with new fuel lines, converted open cooling system and new TPS, IAC and O2 sensor and other things slipping my mind- oh! Also has new track bar, Felpro valve cover gasket and has a variety of parts including a set of brand new in box of side windows for it along with a soon ti be toy hotwheels version of my truck too. It has no body damage or dents. Just faded old paint.
  11. So a while back I had my jeep serviced since if I turned left or right it would pop loudly, loud enough that it is very clearly heard even outside the vehicle clear as day. So it turned out my track bar was shot. I also had about 5-10° of play in the wheel but would turn. After that it has absolutely none but but pops very quietly now to where it only does it rarely/softly. I would almost wonder if that popped off or maybe if your drag link went? [Those are wild guesses. I am not mechanically inclined.]
  12. Sadly none except mine. I will occasionally see a fellow members truck on here that works on my truck. It's dasbulliwagen but I did see a silver one mid last year then....it disappeared. Down here in NC I know they exist but as far as I've seen is mine, a member that's on here and that silver one briefly [I hope it isn't wrecked]. And that's been.....man I think almost a year? So all in all I see 1-2 daily 0-1 if I don't count my truck
  13. That back glass looks pretty good. I'm just thinking on it but I wonder if you could get that out with no cracks and definitely wonder if that old pressure bottle is any good or even the windshield wiper fluid container. Those seem like odd and end parts that could possibly come in handy. Besides that thing looks like it's just days before it gets turned into soup cans unfortunately...
  14. Oh! How cool. That's the example he sent me and he said he's starting on it now. I think he said it takes 4-6 weeks in total. The hard part is waiting. But ge gets the vehicles spot on. I wished I could have done this and showed my great grandfather this. Would've made him start grinning ear to ear
  15. He's on Instagram. He's Pablo custom I think? He does charge accordingly. He makes everything and hand paints everything and ships it to you. He charged me 100+. But hey. It's hand made. I ain't complaining. Here's an example of his work. On his page the XJ guys seem to love him since he has done lots of them
  16. Poor thing. That thing looks so sad. Looks like it was a snow truck? My eyes immediately locked onto the pressure bottles, mirrors and front bumper
  17. Yall! I'm getting a die-cast car of my Comanche. It's from a guy in Instagram and the dude does phenomenal work. I recommend yall check him out. He makes everything from scratch!
  18. Ha! I've seen that sticker before on old rat rods and cars before. It would be so cool to get one for the truck but as sick, twisted and messed up drivers are these days I'd be afraid that would be some sort of incentive to just floor it and hit me or scare me off the road and end up in a accident or hit a tree
  19. Yeah that tells alot....wow. That's awful. Nice to know more info on the XJ's/MJ's though. Stuff I never knew
  20. Whew....yeah those pictures gave me chills. Definitely going to be even more careful even though I'm careful and drive slightly below the speed limit anyway. From what I'm imagining from what you guys are saying is its basically a tin can with wheels, engine and drivetrain that has class. I definitely have a different outlook while driving the MJ. My Monte Carlo feels like driving a battleship and has 3 engine strut braces. I guess a wary driver is a safe one!
  21. Well then....this is nice to know! I drive around like everyone can't drive or are stupid so I definitely got that on lock. Not saying I'll quit driving it but I'm going to....stop dailying it. There's been several times I almost pegged a deer head on and prayed everytime my old drum brakes would hold. They do. Just not good at all. So I'll drive it on weekends and get groceries rather than driving it everywhere I go. I now sort of understand why my grandparents were not really wanting to sell it to me. Due to no airbags and I could potentially be speared by the steering wheel and definitely eat dash. Good reliable engine and transmission at the cost of losing safety
  22. I got to looking at my MJ one day this week and it almost looks like they don't come with airbags....do they? The centre peice on the steering wheel looks way to small. The passenger side doesn't look like it has a give section like on traditional cars on the dash. I don't really want to find out the hard way. I didn't know if anyone else here knows. I drive it extremely careful anyway.
  23. On my way home last night a state trooper came up beside me at a stoplight and rolled his window down and gave me a thumbs up in my jeep. Small things like that really make my day
  24. Yep that's the same identical radiator I'm running at this moment. Doing good too! Hope if you do decide to change your system to open its really easy. The Mac tank I speak of is one you order online off macs radiator shop. It's like $160-ish? But the build quality of it is 2nd to none. Guys including me love it. It's also plug and play where your old expansion tank sits too all you need to do is get a overflow tank and attach it, situate it and your all set. It comes with a standard 16lb radiator cap too. I won't ever go closed system again. Open system is more efficient and easier to maintain. Just avoid the "Liland Global" all aluminum radiator at all costs. Terrible build quality and leaked in the same spot on 2 different rads.
