so what jeep should I be looking in to find this axle?

and a lot cheaper as well?? I don't plan on going higher them 33's....maybe 35's but that would definately not be in any near future plans, not to mention a D30 is a lot easier to find here( ihave been looking) Would there be a difference in price when trying to regear? Should I go with just any D30?

Whenever I have done it, I started with 80 grip and got all the rough stuff off, then moved up in grit (to 140 or 160 i think) and did it, then up into the 320. ALways move in large strokes, don't focus on one spot. If they're not going to prime it, do not take it down to bare metal.

Is it uncommon to see a FSJ D44 in an MJ?? Anyone on here ever done one? What are y other front axle options other then a D30?

some of you might not believe this, but my dad had a car fall on him from 23 feet in the air, the cable from the overhead crane let go in there fab shop...he walked away with a broken hand and 9 stitches to the hand that he broke pure crazyness

I would look seriously at buying some of the stuff, as I am finding out while trying to get into offroading that an MJ offroader was not the best choice for kit availability. But with the help of the guys on here, I am finding out how much fun it is to really shop around and start the fabrication myself, so I'm not really sure what stuff I would buy. I don't know know if that helps you at all, but congrats on having the ambition and courage to try and sell. I would probably buy roll cage kit if it was available, maybe bumpers too.

mostly because I want to change the 5 sod I just picked up over to an auto, but I want to keep the floor shift because I like the looks better. Need auto so my GF can drive it as well. when I redo the long box, I will get the floor shift with buckets as well, but it will end up being 5 spd prolly

Are MJ's rare with factory floor auto shift(not on column)? Or is that just impossible? Because the guy I got mine off of, has 3, all long boxes

That way People can comment or get help during the middle of a build, or othe rmembers can ask questions when all the information is still fresh in the mind. Good idea or bad idea??

It's a great thing for the war on terroism....but I can't say it's a good thing. I don't really agree with how Bushy is dealing with everything....but I'm not trying to start a fight. Canada would have probably done the same thing if it happened to us (bullet dodged on Monday ) Would have been a bit more discrete about it though

LOL!!! I think someone has a love affair with rusty's.....lol I hear great things about ride quality on comanche's specifically for rough country. If he's not offroading it much, I would have to say its a great deal. But I will just tell you what i HEARD, not what I know, and that they (around here) have been known to not last very long offroading. But its still a hell of a deal for the price IMHO. I was gonna go with it myself, but want something bigger and long arm. Supposidly easy to install if you know how, hard to get instructions??

so now it is just a matter of finding a D44. I know a guy who has 4 barns full of pure jeep parts...he will probably be a super nice guy and give me a deal if i trade him up some parts, will just need to find something worth while.... What would be worth trading to a guy who has every Jeep part possible??? Not to mention EVERY jeep model. LOL he might just be a nice guy though, seems like he is What's a good price for a D44 front?? 250? 300?

I think I might still go with the D44 front, simply because I have no idea what mods I might want to do in the future, but I tend to drive the trails extremely hard and I don't want to get stuck because of my stupidity. Then, if I ever get the itch, I can go bigger without (hopefully) a complete drivtrain change. Sounds reasonable??

Well hopefully I can find a GW aroundhere somewhere, I walked around the junkyard closest to me...they seem to have EVERYTHING seen an 69 mustang fastback...lol WOW also seen 12 MJ's, I couldn't even count the XJ's, but no yj's didn't see a GW either, but wasn't looking for one at all. so you say early 80's would be best? Are the gw's common?? or are they a rarer jeep that I will pay big bucks to rip apart?? is the D$$ rear from a waggy same as MJ d44? or very little difference?

My project MJ came with bench seats, and the guy also has 2 more with benches in them...not sure on the condition though. Would you like me to check?
