What year/model Comanche is best
comancheman replied to paulsaw's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
whaaaaaaat?!? ford remains the only truck with straight axle all corner leaf sprung superduty trucks... and in a magazine road test (don't remember what magazine) the F250 diesel out accelerated both GMC2500, and the Cummins (all similarly sized cabs/bed options all the 2 series) even though it was heavier, was quieter db level inside the truck, and stopped faster than the other trucks as well! thats a damn good truck IMHO i HATE all fullsize halftons cept maybe a handful of the dodge SRTs and stuff, but the ford superduty is where its at I'm not sure but arent the 07 fords IFS? if so the suck just like every other new truck but i do agree that the solid axle fords are superior as far as suspension and chassis go but i do know that the powerstroke has had its share of problems -
so basically the relay has a power in and a power out and a ground in and a ground out???
-
i know little to nothing about wiring so here's a dumb one: a relay has 4 posts coming off of it, if i wanted to run my fan just off a switch in the cab what do i do with all 4 posts? why can't i just have a power wire from the battery to the switch and then from the switch to the fan and then a straight ground from the fan

i bought one of those manifolds, now my exhaust smells like a dead fish

i had a friend who made some of his own once, he had about 50 bottles but they were confiscated along with his pot and bb guns when the drug sniffing dog decided to check out the school parking lot a few weeks ago. right before graduation! thats what you get for being an idiot and bring all your $#!+ to school

Is this ceramic piece important?
comancheman replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
its a resistor that runs to your fuel pump you don't need it but your pump will be alot louder without it i don't have one on mine and i can here the pump whining it gets kind of annoying. id replace it eventually but for a quick fix u don't need it -
damn i wish i had thought of that

comancheman replied to comancheman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
o man its a little late for before and after photos. well actually ill try, driverside is still red passenger is flat black, looks sick -
just a few question before i start spraying 1). Whats the best way to remove the badges from the body? 2). Is "JEEP" on the header panel removable? 3). After sanding is it ok to wipe it down with regular paint thinner or should i buy something special? 4). paint panel by panel or will i get different shades like that?

i just don't see how a throttle body spacer can do anything on any MPI system. w/ TBI i understand how it allows more time for the fuel and air to mix but will someone please tell me antidisestablishmentarianism it does for MPI

pull of your tires and make sure that your rear shoes are properly adjusted first you might as well do it right. you should feel a slight drag on the drum from your shoes when u turn it by hand. then adjust the cable by the tcase

comancheman replied to feerocknok's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ive got the re 5.5 inch coils and they flex like a highschool cheerleader id deffinetly recommend them not sure on the spring rate though -

-

I'm not sure if all explorers are like this but make sure you have a set of 12pt sockets to remove the d-shaft from the pinion flange
-
i don't have a pic but IIRC the light bulb is held onto the cig lighter by a metal clip that provides a ground to the same wire as the cig lighter itself.

what are people running and how do you like them? i was going ot get 4 skyjackers for $135 but i havent seen good products from them in the past so i held off and figured id ask around. I'm mostly concerned about off road performance but don't have big $$$ or any $$$ for that matter.
