so i drive 5 hours to pennsylvania to buy my 1988 mj 4.0 auto shortbed mj. i get there it looks decent so i load it on the flatbed. while my buddy is strapping it down he realizes there is no front driveshaft. the p.o. says it got stolen a while ago. i didnt make it into an issue because i had two back at home. so today i decide to bolt on the frnt dshaft. it doesnt shift out of 4wd. the lever deffinetly feels like it goes into 2wd but the indicator light stays on and frnt and rear axles are getting power. any ideas? i don't know where to start.
the brakes on my 1990 mj had a 9 inch drum with 2.5 inch shoes. but i would asumme you could just swap the backing plates and everything should fit right on.
I'm thinkin of just using black spraypaint to redo my mj. is it possible to use the can and still get it lookin half way decent? anyone done this, got any pics?
if u decide u want to keep it original and u have a 4.0 ive got an 88 4.0 w/ 80k that id be willing to sell. doesnt matter when, as its still in the truck. ive got a whole drivetrain if u want it.
just wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not an np242 out of an 89 xj w/ aw4 tranny would bolt up to the chrysler tranny used in a 1998 grand cherokee.
also the tcase has about 160k on it how much do these go for used?
I've been to two Toby Keith concerts, and one Brad Paisley (<---awesome show!)
