  1. thanks for the help guys
  2. ok then its definetly the 4.0 and yeah I'm not lookin for another pile of rust. definetly gonna make sure theres no hidden surprises with this one. after i bought the 90 i got it home and took a hammer to the frame ended up with a hole about 2 ft by 4 inches long down the frame. ive learned my lesson. so if its the 4.0 does that mean its the aw4 and that either one of the tcases will fit?
  3. why would there techs be any different?
  4. dude its a kia stick with jeeps. we had a 2003 kia sportage at the shop i work at with an oil leak. turns out the oil pan was rotted through after 3 years. what a toilet. does this say anything for the quality of car that kia makes?
  5. head to the north east its got everything. snow, summer, hills, flatts, forests, cities. its basically the place to be no matter who u are. and there is some pretty decent wheelin to, not like moab but good places to spend a weekend day with ur buddies
  6. alright i already have a 1990 comanche 4x4, doesnt run but used to and the drivetrain is fine aside from the motor. the frame is in real bad shape and the cab needs alot of work done to it while the bed is unsalvagable. theres a 1987 comanche for sale locally for 1200 with a fresh paint job and motor. it is a 6 cyl but could be the 2.8. with an auto tranny. How in depth is the conversion to 4x4? are the mounts there for the control arms and coil springs? will the transfercase fit with the tranny? i know its hard to help not knowing what tranny is in it and which 6 cyl it has but the biggest problem is mounting the front axle. i have an xj for parts also so i have atleast two aw4's and np231 and an np242, 1 vac disconnect front axle, and one non vac disconnect and 2 4.0 motors plus driveshafts from all of the above. i think i should have the parts to do it but i don't have a good welder nor good welding capabilities so i hope the mounts are already ther.
  7. I'm over in ware near the quabbin resevoir. good wheelin out in pittsfield?
  8. where abouts in MA are u located
  9. that was kinda dissapointing. i was hoping to just switch the wires that run into the fuseblock, turns out the connectors are different on the other end. well, ill finish next weekend.
  10. the wiring harness in my 90 mj is all torn up and i was gonna swap the harness from my 89 xj into the mj. the xj has abs and power windows and locks. thers like 3 more relays on the xj than on the mj. would i have any problems if i just left the unused connectors on the xj harness diconected? thanks, tim
  11. wait so if u just weld ur front end and put in a posi lock, then it works just like an ox locker right? it won't affect any on road driving unless u engage the posi lock. thats a sweet idea for us that can't afford to spen hundreds on a real locker
  12. sorry guys now i don't mind a little pantera now and then but after that country is the way to go :brows:
  13. nice thanks for the help guys
  14. the pressure on the msd 2225 pump is 85 psi according to the site. I'm leaning towards that one because of the price and i know msd makes a good product. if i won't damage any exisiting parts by using this pump ill probably buy it. but i can't see how the o-ring on the stock pressure regulator will hold 85 psi when its only supposed to hold 31. pingpong, is pong still running the 4.0? if this is the same pump u have and u havent had any problems with it then ill go with that one
  15. i checked out the msd pump on summit racing's site 43 gph and 85 psi. is it possible to damage anything by using this pump with the high pressure. can i still use the stock pressure regulator? thanks for the input tim
  16. no ones got any ideas?
  17. my wheelin buddy runs 37/12.5/15 mtrs on his toyota and i think they perfrom awesome. they do do their best on the rocks but i havent seen anything really poor in the mud. they also show almost no sign of wear after about 3 years of road use. the tires are pretty expensive though.

  19. well I'm probably gonna have to flat bed the comanche due to severe rust on the bed. i already have a nice fuel cell to put in the back but was wondering if any one knew of a fuel pump that would work for this set up. its a 1990 4.0
  20. thanks guys i already changed the tempsensor and will take the oil pressure sensor off my parts xj. the tach may work, i suppose ill need to get the truck running to figure that out for sure
