 that one looks like a complete buy to me. somebody needs to go down there with cash in hand and save that thing!

HP and LP gears are not interchangeable. LP's use standard-cut gears. HP's use reverse-cut gears. The only thing of value on the TJ D30 is maybe the shafts for the other axle the OP says he has. -Adam  brain fart! glad somebody caught it

i don't see why you wouldnt get a track bar with the bracket. now days its kind of $#!&ty if it doesnt come with one IMO make sure to get one with a heim -
is its a low pinion i wouldnt do it. take the gears out of it yes but the housing no. high pinion, grab it. the axle shafts would be a nice upgrade though. maybe buy it and put gears and shafts in the old high pinion axle

who knows what it was then. probably one of those "things" that happens. ive thought about an SYE and a tom woods just because i can. i mean it would be an improvment over the stock $#!& anyway -
Need Frame Stiffener Advice TnT Ruff Stuff
SW86 replied to treklight's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the brackets for the RK long arms are not wide enough to fit over frame stiffeners. your going to have to cut out that section on the stiffeners (kind of defeating the purpose) or do some fabbing else where to make them work. i personally don't see a problem in cutting off the outers on the brackets and welding them straight onto the frame. IIRC thats how the first generations of the RK kits were. then again I'm sure theres a reason why they changed it. my brackets look nothing like the first gen kit. yes, i just welded my passenger bracket straight to the frame. no issues to date and ive slammed down on that bracket hard more than once. i don't have stiffeners though -

you mean like a upside down V not an X...?.. and I'm sure you make your own but i bought some sweet @$$ shock mounts from barnes4x4 for like 15 bucks. -
^^^^ thats usually how it goes for me as well. several TJs and XJs all spinning over some rocks and up the hill. i pull up and creep over the rocks and stroll up the hill barely on the gas. funny as hell!!

well take some pics and post them here! i think it would be cool to see other ones just for the hell of it. i know we can't save them all but we can at least look at them and dream lol i know where two more are. one is just bones and the other i might still try to buy. pics coming soon

go flex and measure. its really that simple. just measure both sides for the collapsed and extended lengths. stock pitman arm should be fine -
oh yeah. buying that gold one crossed my mind several times. no telling what they'd charge. they were stripped pretty good but i guess that'd be good because you'd have a fresh start. both had ZERO rust. few dents on the blue one but the gold one straight as an arrow. didnt know if we had a thread for posting up junkyard finds but we should!
-
didnt know where to post, so here goes. went to the junkyard today and found a few comanches. nothing really special but i grabbed a set of tail lights, a extra driver tail light and some side vents. nothing else really on them. i snagged pics of both the trucks and vins for whoevers records on here :smart:

i tried out some white spray paint primer on the half door and it did really well. no lines or uneven paint. i like how it will look but now I'm sort of thinking just going grey with it or maybe a silver/charcoal. anything is better than the camo at this point with me

seems all your questions have been answered but i always called those little windows, butterfly windows. -
i don't get your choice of subject line but the story was pretty funny.... you know, except the running over animals

i was looking for a two door XJ which was (and still is) not an easy feat. stumbled across an old craigslist ad and bam, there it was. i knew right then and emailed the guy. i called the next day and that weekend i went and drove it home 2 1/2 hours. havent looked back since. the guy told me the ad wasnt even supposed to be there anymore. he tried to delete it several times after no one really showed interest. the ad finally went away the day after i bought it. i think it was fate.

man that looks awsome. theres a lot more parts in those things then i thought. its almost like a real truck with all those gears and bearings lol how about a little something on it for the south. no. not a rebel flag

so i guess I'm good since they're radials? I'm sure itll still be a stiffer ride but nothing like bias tires.
