I bought the rod clips from a local automotive paint and body supply shop. Picked them from an assortment drawer .80 each.

Done. DIY Projects and Write ups. "Refreshing Door Latches".
-
I recently removed the door latches from my 1991 Comanche. Both sides were gummed up with dirty dried out grease, or what ever lube was used on them. Once removed, a hot high pressure washer was used to clean the latches, then the latches we're soaked over night in ATF fluid. The brittle plastic rod clips were also replaced. Latches are working like new again.
-
The PO used rivited nut inserts without inside backing plates to install. I think they just picked a spot on the door, without reason. The mirrors did not match the body lines and were presumably always loose, causing door panel damage. I will be replacing them with 1996 XJ non break away mirrors.
-
Continuing to work on body panels, it has been a long process. Still have much more to do. Removed the door latches, both latches we're gummed up with dirty dried grease, or what ever lube was used on them. I power washed and soaked them in ATF fluid. Replaced the brittle plastic rod clips. Latches are working like new again.

Removing black coating from windshield trim
Blade replied to fiatslug87's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I was planning the heat method for my window trim. I am thinking the gasket removal will be a much easier method. Thanks for the great tip! -

My 1992 Comanche Pioneer Rejuvination
Blade replied to Jlindsey86's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
The wheels, tires and center caps are a very nice look on your comanche. Good job! refurbishing those wheels. You have inspired me to do the same on my build. What tire size did you go with? -
For sale by owner bill of sale "NO TITLE". 1986 Comanche. 2.8 liter V6, 5 speed manual, 4wd, Long bed. It starts, runs and drives. Has engine oil leaks, clutch master cyl leaks. Rust free Colorado truck. Asking price is $1,700.00. I added it to the registry. JTWL65G3GT100420. Not my stuff. The owner is a friend of mine, so I can get more information if needed.

Thanks, I added front header chrome Jeep emblems to the rear mud flaps. It is a fit, the lettering happens to be the same size and style.
-
Straitened rear bumper, replaced diamond plate on top, fabricated and added a class 3 receiver hitch. Repaired broken bolts on the rear fender flares and mud flaps. Changed fluids front/rear differential, transfer case, transmission. Upgraded headlight wire harness, H4 ceramic connectors, 30amp relays, 12 guage wire. Started body work, planning on painting original color, PW7 bright white.
