  1. http://www.cherokeetalk.com/forum/f8/cherokee-budget-turbo-build-thread-431/ Thats a 4.0 but same kinda concept. It is a 95 though which means MPI not TBI so you would need to account for that but i assume you are going to use a Newer Motor with MPI for this? He also has a dyno thread from the XJ with some heat problems with intake air. You can search there for more info. Or get a avenger supercharger $4000 and a claim of 180+ horsies http://www.avengersuperchargers.com/????? Cole
  2. Power windows?? I need a regulator near the end of this month. Got a XJ on the way i know ones bad but not which one. Cole
  3. Throw a couple hundred more on a Lincoln welder. You have 500 to play with and you might as well get the nice welder. Use it to learn and grow into it. http://www.powertoolstore.com/Qstore/p003799.htm Here is a example. You can find them cheaper than that but there are alot of welders on here that can suggest nice welders that will work great for around the house and farm type stuff. The one above will weld 3/16" and even 1/2" if you use the right wire and prep work. Something to think on. Cole
  4. One thing to add though.. It kinda looks like the one side of the u is bent away from the pack. If this is true then it will not line up. I had this issue on mine at one time. A BFHammer will help is this is the case but don't get crazy. Cole
  5. OK just a thought:  if they are calling the sending unit the actual sender and not all the brackets and tubes they are the same for the same motor year combo XJ to MJ. The brackets have different length tubes. Also a sender from a 91 MPI 2.5 will fit a bracket froma 87 TBI even though the true sender is different lengths and sizes, you just flip the bottom bracket piece i believe. I wouldnt be suprised if that is what they are talking about instead of the bracketry. Just a guess i could be way off. Cole
  6. What road you travlin. I'm in SC and i will be headed to NC on Fri if you are coming thru there i might be able to help. Cole
  7. For 1400 you cna surely find and rebuild a 3.4L or get a crate one. They are all over most JYs i have been to. Goodluck and use the 2.8 as an anchor if it even is good for that. Cole
  8. Air body saw. MY favorite tool on the jeep. I would place the flares on the side where you want them to sit and trace it onto the fender. TJ flares have a lip on them you have to cut off as well so they flush mount. Take your time and good luck. 8) Cole
  9. What about fender flares or cut fenders. If those are in as well this list could be crazy long. You would have to list the amount thats cut and everything so its an accurate description. Oh and photobucket will resize all images to what you want so that would make it easy for the size. Cole
  10. Yeah they are quick and easy until you let a spring fly across the room on you. Cole
  11. Yuengling is my one and only beer unless of course its free beer and i can still be picky. I have heard Fat Tire is really good so i will be trying that soon. Cole
  12. A $.25 wooden ruler works if your redneck enough to use it. ;) You could even wire tie it under your seat so you don't loose it and when its needed slap it in. :brows: Cole
  13. The mssurements from the ring mounting surface to the bearing should be different between the two that are offered. Here is a link to a similar question on a 44. http://www.rrorc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34832 Cole
  14. I may have one laying around from a 87 2.5 TBI MJ. Not sure your exact specs but i think I hav eit from my motor swap. It worked fine then and should now. I have softball tonight so i will check when i get home from that and PM you the details on it and see if it will work. Cole
  15. Yes there are studs sticking thru and nuts on the inner side of the fender. Easy to reach but they can break easy also. Cole
  16. It is alot easier then dealing with the wheel bearings and such. Glad i made it easier for ya. You can do it that way fro everything but wheel bearing replacement. Its good to know when wheeling if your lucky or know to have the shafts with the unit bearings attached like all mine. ;) Cole
  17. Just to be sure if you arent changing the wheelbearings or shafts you don't have undo that nut. You can take the flange bolts out and the shafts and bearing asembly (unsure of true name). If your just doing carrier/gear work it would make it easier for you maybe. Cole
  18. Laurens SC. Its a great park i just don't have a tow rig. to make it a regular trip Cole
  19. Thats my next big build plan. I was surprise at the fact there was so little rocke damage. The frame took most of the brunt. An exo cage would have made it alot more fun cause i would have went threw the trails they told us we shouldnt go on or COULDNT go on without a cage. Guess i need to save up the mioney to do it next. Cole
  20. Thanks we usally forget to take pics so we made sure we got plenty of good ones. I would love to go to gulches regularly but its 3 hours away and I'm without a tow rig. I have my buddies Titan while he has been deployed and he let me use it to drag the MJ up there. We had a blast. So FAR the damage is most of the right side of the bed needs alot of work, The pinch seam belwo the Passenger door, The tailgate ??, front d-shaft got some good gouges and the tailpipe above it, Broke the outer lip on my steel wheels on the left side, i melted a vacuum line. Hopefully thats All i did its not that bad jsut alot of small things minus the bed. Cole
  21. OK so first time to the new park and i would like to say for a small time deal Skip the owner is outstanding. Several and i mean SEVERAL if not most trails have off camber and not just a little. A couple nice rock gardens and trench trails. We started off the day with a double black (with gulches standard) which led me to believe i had some brushing up to do because some easy LOOKING rocks made it a difficult climb. After knocking out my cobwebs we had a great time below are pics and those that don't like to see a good bed get hurt look away. For some reason the right side of my bed wanted beat. The following pics include explanations when needed theres several wheel off the ground pics cause of several wheel off the grounds so i will post the best couple. ENJOY Cole This is a guy we met in the park he was beating that thing to death A guy on the big rock This the only reason I'm still up is the tree Pretty nasty rock garden Theres the worst spot the others are low on the bed
  22. OK i can't find a YJ pack to check but does anyone know if they will fit on the rear of my MJ. I have decided to lower it some from where it is now i know the YJ packs are flatter. Just trying to get some insight on an idea. IF they don't work does anyone know of some flatter then stock ones that will?? Cole
