you can use stock springs for the SOA lift in the front you don't need new ones. I wanted more than my initial 6"s so I did a little fanagling to get what I wanted with extra leaves. Good Luck. Cole

Yeah i am on short arms still they are adjustables and flex good but I want to flex great!!! and my dad brought 2 years worth of JP and petersons for me to take a read my wife is going to send a few over every few weeks. I might get a subs. to JP though I really like that one. ;) Also thanks everyone I hope your right wombat cause I will miss the forum if I don't get to get on it. This is one great place almost feels like some of ou guys are fam after talking to you so much. Cole

NO short answer but if you chop it off right behind the muffler it SHOULD be good. The wheel base is shrter on a XJ so it don't line up right. Cole

OK here is a plan for you....Buy a JY D35 axle for Cheap or buy the one I have In NC for around $80 (3.73) but its out of a XJ and throw that in until you do the 4.88s and its easier to do gears with the axle out anyway or cheaper if you take it somewhere already pulled. That will get you threw untill you do the swap. I also have another Idea Ill pm you but I am only doing it casue I trust you. Also are going SOA or are you already if so do you have extra spring packs??? Cole

Difference between trim packages
JOMJ87 replied to once red's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
mine had good mirrors on it. :D Cole -
I just made a bastard pack out of leaves I had laying around that were a tiny bit more arch. I don't remember what they came from. I trimmed alot in the front cause of flex issues but I flex mine until the springs almost bind.(hopefully I will brake one and can use that to buy some new ones with a little more length) ;) I have a spare froma broke set a XJ had I bought for parts. Anyway If its Trail only just do a real nice trim on it and don't put flares back on they just get ripped off on the trail anyway. I have seen guys roll the sheet metal around the place they cut and it look like it came stock like that. Just a thought on your project. Cole

I think mine has the PO of the PO did alot of little stuff like the prop valve was gone when I got it and the starter and alt was changed to aftermarket PPlus iyt was rebuilt so I think they may be blue stock. BUT they are chinks of rubber in the line that are easy to spot. Cole
-
Mine Are black. Sorry Cole
-
they are the big blck spots of rubber in the line. Its just a bump thats got a small wire in it. Just eliminate them out of the line and use the BIG fuses and fuse blocks they use on car stereo systems amps. Cole

pretty confused about my gear ratio
JOMJ87 replied to comancheman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a set of 3.73 I will sell. :brows: Cole -
Well if funds allow but at the same time I am going to do a motor swap some suspension work and regear both axles but I might if I find a deal. But it does have a LSD factory. Cole
-
If I wasnt leaving I would help you set them up. Quick threadjack if I have a D44 with 3.07s do I need a new carrier to go to 4.88s or do I buy the thick gears for it and it will be good??? I think I buy thick ones but please confirm. Sorry but that might help you to OZ. Cole

If I am back and my MJ is ready I will try to go with. But it looks like I want be back in the states till late May early June. Cole

Buy the perches from the dodge dealership they are beefy the stock springs can be used and the brake lines can be extended. that should be all you need for the rear I might have missed something but you don't need a kit. the front just buy the pieces you need to match the rear lift since everyone gets diff lift with SOA. I can get more detailed later I'm at work and have soem stuff to do now. Cole
-
Hang around you don't have to own one and you might run across a gem. Cole
-
Most guys on here have a lot of work to do to keep up with your rig ;) Cole
-
How much did you cut I think I might drop alittle??? if I could go to full stuff and not hit anything. Can I see some Pics. Cole
-
Just thought Id mention just in case you didnt realize it. Nice project keep us posted. Cole

Transfer case vac. lines melted
JOMJ87 replied to reddog's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you can sleeve them with the coragated metal conduit stuff thats about 1" diameter and has flex joints that will help protect itand hold it in a position to keep it from touching exhaust. Cole -
Here is mine I trimmed alot and have TJ flares and also I have around 7"+ lift on there.http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1591 Cole
-
May have d-shaft probs cause it so much lower than stock and you have lift on it. Just a thought you might want to check into you can also run 5.13 gears in the LP and only 4.88s in the HP so thats one plus. Cole
