Set of adjustable control arms for a Cherokee or Comanche. Uppers are older Rubicon Express, lowers are Cavfab (only 3 rides on them). All joints are in very good shape. $250 FIRM FOR ALL 4 OR I WILL SPLIT THEM UP FOR $150 PER SET. Will ship at buyers expense, located in Atlanta.

Hey all! Ended up breaking a chromoly rear shaft this past weekend on the old turdy five. Ive been searching high and low for a chromo replacement but looks like either no one is making them for the non c clip axle anymore or they backordered everywhere. Am i screwed or does anyone have any other suggestions? I have an 8.8 I'm going to build but was hoping to put it off a little longer if possible. I have a stock replacement but am guessing that won't last too long with my heavy foot haha.

Using heims. Used a reamer to drill the knuckle to 5/8.
-
Yea I had the thought of using TRE's instead but I had to ream the knuckles to install the heims. Whatever next setup I use when I swap out the front axle will def be TRE's
-
I just installed what came in the kit so I assume they are correct. The hole size was a nice tight fit, reamer didn't wander or anything. The problem is more that the entire assembly kinda flops up and down, not side to side. Steering feels nice and tight, no DW or wandering or anything.

I should say only reason i took mine out is i was chasing a squeak in the drivetrain and thought maybe that was it. Turned out to be something else.

There are a few cad delete kits out there, not sure which is best but i believe they are all generally the same, i forget which one i used. i ordered a 97 xj shaft, ended up ditching the helper bearing, was kind of a pita to get out. I ended up using a dremel to cut the bearing cage and pried it out in pieces thru the cad opening.

Anyone else with their crossover steering have their rods just kinda flopping around when installed. Got everything tight and loctited, got the heims clocked as far as i can but there is still a good bit of movement in the heims so it sounds terrible when I'm going wheeling or going over speed bumps on pavement. Been searching but can't find anyone else with the issue really. Maybe i got a bad set of heims? Emailed cavfab and they said "thats normal try clocking the heims more". can't be right it sounds like the front end is going to come apart when i hit a big bump.

Lew at Alcan was pretty responsive with me throughout. They had some delays but he made sure to let me know what was going on. His email is lew@alcanspring.com maybe try that one? Love their springs they ride like butter on and off the trail -

Well real enough for 32's haha. Choccolocco is probably as close as I can get to my old Tellico days, all I can do is dream of Lower 2 and Slickrock -

A few more goodies. Just opted to throw some chromo shafts and an aussie locker in the 35 for now, I figure that should be plenty strong enough for 32's. Also just went with Rustys steering upgrade for now because it was available and direct bolt on. Next phase will hopefully be a built soa 44 in the rear and I am going to start working on just beefing up the front 30 with shafts and a locker as money allows, and eventually going to go long arm in the front and bigger meats. Thought I had a bolt in the carrier of the 35 but its a roll pin so I need to head to ACE to get a replacement. Also still waiting on the other shaft to arrive (FedEx is the worst). Hoping to take it to do some real wheeling in the next month or two. -
Not sure if this should be in the pub or not. Just curious what spares everyone carries when wheeling and how? Plastic tub? Large toolbox? Custom box? Been thinking about making a box that goes under my truck box in the bed to carry spare axles and driveshafts etc., wanted to see what everyone else has.
-
Looks good! I used the same and it was super easy. Its been probably about 6 months at least and I've put it through some abuse and its holding up very well even with only one coat. Thinking about just doing the whole truck in it eventually.

Located in Atlanta, willing to drive a little bit, just looking for a rear MJ D44 housing. Axle will be a project for later build, trying to keep MJ parts under it if possible.

Well after a few wheeling excursions I needed to do a little trimming. Trimmed up the front and rear fenders today so hopefully no more rubbing at full stuff even with the extended stops. The body is definitely already a beater so I didn't feel too bad about doing the cutting. Planning on tubing and dovetailing the rear anyway after I retire from the fire dept in a few years and do the big offroad build. Went with the cut and fold method for the rear, worked out pretty well, I like being able to see a little more of the rear tire in the rear view mirror while driving/wheeling. Its far from good but looks good from far! -
Looking good man! Time to get out on some trails out there!

4.5" Rubicon Express SuperFlex XJ front lift, spring under rear with 4" Alcan leaf springs and a .5" RE lift shackle, 32x11.50x15 on 15x8 with 4.5" backspacing. -
When I tested my CPS I was even getting .27v but still getting spark. Have you replaced the fuel pump relay? An inline spark tester from a big box store should be pretty cheap just to help verify that part of it. The diagnostic connectors should tell you a lot as Ohm suggested. When you jump the relay and get the fuel pump to run is the motor firing up? Just to clarify what exactly is happening when you are trying to start it? Can you hear the fuel pump turn on and prime when you turn the key on? Is it a crank no start condition or a no crank condition?

That is one sharp rig! Looks like it should be a magazine cover somewhere. -
Well a new Carter pump and I'm back on the road, definitely a good learning experience. Thanks for the help everyone, now I'll get to wheel a little this weekend!
-
Have you tested for spark? I only ask because I was recently having a starting issue which I thought was CPS but turned out to be a bad fuel pump. If you have spark I would look toward fuel issues.
