"Babe the Big Blue Ox" '80 big block Suburban
Jesse J replied to Jesse J's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
yesterday got it mostly vacuumed out and wiped down. Then put some stuff on the dash and door cards looking way better now. The interior is basically perfect except for the headliner. And we put it next to the jeep and holy smokes comanches are tiny. Got the back of the seats wire brushed so rust isnt actively falling off. Got the rear glass mechanism out and un siezed so the tailgate drops now. doesnt go all the way down due the the crushed rear bumper but we might put the bumper of his old truck on it, provided we can get the bolts off. Also replaced the fuel filter and tuned the carb a little and it's running way nicer now -
so about 3 months ago my friend Aiden ran his 87 suburban into a pole totaling it. Since then we have parted it out and today we picked up this one. 454 big block with an edelbrock carb. Bought by a plow company as a backup so it has spent it's 65,xxx miles either sitting or plowing. A couple problems with it, the rear glass doesnt roll down either seized window, bad motor, or no power. And the front leafs are bent the wrong way. has a 12 bolt rear but we might swap those because of how rusted the studes are we will see. This thing is dusty af so hopefully we can detail it tomorrow. Plan is, swap the front leafs, then carb rebuild, then hopefully maybe axel swap.

lots of work today. Got the conduit in the trench the footings cleaned out and the trench dug for the electrical on the hot tub. my hands are very callused and hurt

agreed! the front air damn and the front 2 bits of body kit should be an exception for anyone with a race truck

that's sweet

Bench Seat vs Bucket Seats: which do you prefer?
Jesse J replied to comanche47's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I guess I do have the luxury of brand new foam in my seat all though the way I built it if I am not sitting i the center of the steering wheel I am veering off to the door just because you can't make foam like the molds they have -
if he ends up getting it he kept his driveshafts so those will be nice backups

update. It's sold he got 500 for it and a dude with a street suburban dragged it to his place last night! in total got 1200 out of it which is really good considering he bought it for 1300. We are going tomorrow to look at a big block 1980 suburban

not a bad idea. going to @ogjeepand @CactusComancheagain
-
oh cool
-
until what?
-
nah in my opinion a street comanche body kit belongs on a street comanche. Maybe those front air dams might be different people might want them for scca style race trucks
-
The hard part is you would probably sell 2 sets I mean at most 100. would make more sense for someone with a body kitless street comanche to get access to @ogjeepor @CactusComanche body kits and make a one off for themselfs
