  1. The one on the trailer is a 94 chevy truck that I am parting out. It got hit in the left rear tire and it tore the front spring hanger off the frame. I have my 91 black eliminator (my baby), 86 longbox parts ride, 2 88 shortbox 2.5s. The yellowish one I am converting to 4x4 it only has 129k original miles on it. The other short box is white and will prolly get knocked in the head. So currently I have 4 but have owned over 10 of them. I just can't get enough of them. Thanks for the compliment on the ElCamino. i just got it a few months ago. I pulled the 3.8 out and got a 355 sitting in there just need to finish it up. I put all the f41 suspension stuff on it. Electric fans of an intrepid and so on.
  2. Let me know when your ready. We might be able to do swap. All I would want is the rear axle internal parts and put them in my housing. Setting gears is not that hard.
  3. Once I find some 4.10s and lift coils I prolly will put it up on 33s. Only time will tell. It will be a nice driver (parts hauler) for now though.
  4. Broke one of mine 2 times. The last two were in XJs I built and sold. 4.0 5speed 31s. I spit the ring gear out on the highway. Mild hill 55 4.0 5speed 33s. Clutch drop on trail tryin to get a buddy out. Exploded spiders and broke left axleshaft. 4.0 auto 235s Spun a little on sand at a stoplight and broke right axleshaft only under part throttle. 4.0 auto 31s I broke the pionion off while flexin it in a ditch in front of my house. It was definately odd. Hope that helps.
  5. What did you find this time?
  6. Alittle progress- squatting in the rear with old 2wd axle laying in there. Looking better though. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found
  7. I am replacing my clutch when I swap trannies and t cases in my 2.5 MJ in the next couple weeks and I am just gonna scuff the surface a little on the flywheel to help the clutch seat and thats it. I am not chancing my flywheel at all.
  8. From the look of the pic in the parking lot I would try the ZJ coils first. I put a pair in my 2.5 MJ and it lifted it around 2 inches. The ride is great still with those. I would be afraid of the ZJ lift coils because they always lift a4.0 XJ at least an inch higher than the ZJ. A large weight difference between a ZJ and a 2.5 MJ. Just a thought.
  9. I put mine under the truck jacked it up into place. Bolted up the driveshaft and then eye balled it. 3 of us agreed it looked good then welded the perches solid. We done 4-5 of them this way and no probelms yet. In fact we are gonna do up Renix Powers rear swap in a couple weeks and it will be done in the same way I am sure.
  10. On my MJ after I went 7.5 in the front with lorgarm and SOA in the rear I was about 1.5 low on side and 2.25 on the other. Left spring was weak from the tranny andt case laying back there for 3 years before I got it. What I did was take the main leaf from a half ton suburban, I had it laying around and it was 56 inches long. I cut the eyes and then trimmed to fit. Flexs very well and rides like before. Plus it supported the main leaf almost entirely. It worked for me and might work for you. Plus I have only a small amount of wheel hop with 33 inch boggers. I have to really try to get to wheelhop.
  11. I will not even be as close as big as this. Should be able to hide its shadow. LOL
  12. I picked up this MJ awhile ago. Its an 88 Sportruck 2.5 4 speed 2wd. I am in the process of making it a 4x4. In the last month I have removed the old cracked up decals, put an XJ prop valve in and new line, ZJ coils, buckets from an XJ, swapped the cluster for gauges, cleaned everything, installed a stock stereo, and a million other little things. I have already swapped in a HP30 and new track bar as well as new rancho shocks. Today I boled on a set of 29 inch super swampers but it got to dark to take any pics. I will post those up in the next couple days. Let me know what you think of my MJ. Keep in mind this started out as a $150 truck. Image Not Found Image Not Found
  13. I just got an 88 MJ 2.5 4 speed 2wd that I am converting to a 5 speed 4x4. After all snow we have had this year 2wd is worthless. This thing gets stuck on the slightest of an incline. Just need to finish rounding up parts.
  14. That thing looks great. I have ran my Boggers on the street before and bone jarring is close to right feeling. I think you will like the claws. I checked them out before I bought my Boggers but the new price was about the same either way. I need to get some pics upof my little guy. I just put ZJ coils in and 29x10x50x15 TSLs on it. Looks great but still 2wd with a high pinion 30 in it non-disco.
  15. I would grab rear disk brakes for sure. I did that swap and love it. Front axle will be a low pinion and should CV style axleshaft but will be a non disconnect for sure. Rear axle may a dana 44 but it will have the aluminum center, not worth swapping. Front coils will give and MJ or XJ an inch or so lift though. If you end up withit I might be interest in the tranny for a V8 ZJ I have. The case will be a NP249 with the viscous coupler for the all wheel drive. Good for a ZJ and thats about alls its good for.
  16. Thanks that is what I was hoping for. Now on with the interior rehab.
  17. I just got 2 1988 sportrucks. Both are 2.5 AX4 2wds one is drivable now and the other is for parts, and not much more than that. Anyways the better of the two MJs I am touching up to drive and eventually sell to pay for more stuff on my 1991 Eliminator. I also just picked up a totalled 87 XJ for the 4.0 for a friend of mines 88 Pioneer MJ that is knocking. The interior of XJ is tan same as my sportruck,so I am taking the buckets and console to swap in (done it before no big deal). The XJ has the proper seat belt buckles for the buckets but are different that the MJ buckle style. Are seatbelt assemblies the same XJ to MJ? I would like to swap them because the PO had a busted passenger for two years and the right side seatbelt is nasty from exposure. Thanks in advance for the help.
  18. No I picked up a set of 35 BFG MTs from Dingman in Des Moines. Real nice rubber and a great price. I want a set of rock krawlers for my boggers and put the 35s on my alloys. I still need to get that tailgate but now this house has me busy till at least spring changing this and that. Is yours getting any closer? Hows the brakes coming?
  19. Its from a 92. I will keep my open for a 8.25 for ya.
  20. I rana set of ranger alloys on an XJ awhile back. Bolted right on no mods required. HTH
  21. It uses Rubicon Express Flex Joints at the crossmember. On the front edge of the crossmember they built pockets for the arm to mount up in to. I will look to see if I have a front shot in the album. The adjustments are a pain because you do have to loosen the arm from the crossmember. The arms come preset at thestock length and you can adjust them accordingly as you install them. I pushed my front axle ahead about an inch.
  22. This is the only way to fly. A few of my buddys have ran rustys and were not happy at all. This thing has out flexed them all and the clearence is awesome. Mine has flexed out far enough to actually let the left front spring fall out. Thats with a 7.5 inch lift. It is totally unbeleivable what it will do. The on the street ride quality is second to none. TNT all th eway and don't look back it is money well spent in my opinion.
  23. Here are some from my install HTH
  24. Thanks I have way to much time and money in it for sure. I would still like to find a box for it though. MIne is getting pretty rough. I am going to convert to the 97 up front pretty soon also. I just bought ahouse and progress has slowed down alot since. Oh well I have all winter. By the way I was at wrench and go awhile back and there were 2 mjs a white longbox and red shortbox. Just keep pulling wrenchs and you will get there.
  25. Yeah I am that slacker. Goodlooking mj I watched it onebay for awhile also. Watch out the mj is very addictive. I need to get mine dirty again it has been awhile. Brian we got that ax15 in and it works great. I need to get those 35s on my mj and see what that loks like.
