I just bought my aluminum 2.5 valve off ebay. The seller had just replaced 2.5 in his YJ with a small block. I stole it at the whopping buy it now price of 15 bucks. Solved my oil leak except I need the newer CCV adaptor for it.

Comancheon33 Rebuild to return to the trails

I finally got my box placed on this week. Going hack the cab corner of my 86 parts ride this weekend and get ready to drop off at the body shop later this week. I will show pics of a clean long box getting hacked to save my big eliminator. Plus show off how much better it looks straighter with the new box. -

I got my 88 in shop today and started messing with it. I pulled the flairs and it is spotless. The body only has 79000 miles on it. After I do a little more dejunking on it I will post pics tomorrow. Decided to do a 4.0 AW4 4x4 conversion to it. Now I just need the proper donor XJ. Plus I think I am going to attempt my own long arm. This might get fun. -
stupid question, but

I will post pics when I get it home on tuesday or wednesday. The pics will be deserving of the puke smiley for sure. If that doesn't warrant the puke smiley the custom bucket seats will. Trust me they are ugly. Collin when you posting pics of the mighty mouse comanche anyways? -

Yes I do. The other MJ turned out to be all right. The body is very clean. The 2.5 is laying in the box but the big plus is there is a new throm out assembly in it that I will slam right in to the lil black one. Only thing that sucks about the new one is the color. Medium metallic brown with tan sportruck stripes. -

Yeah twins. My has the baby motor though. I got a 350 in garage on the stand that might fit in there. BPM if it works out I will owe a beer or 6  -
I am running a set of formatt fab tube doors and love them. Matt is great to deal with. Just my .02 cents worth.

I just bought this 89 SWB 2.5 4 speed 2wd last friday. I found it on Craigslist in Omaha. I went out and looked at after I sold my 95 chevy truck and cash burnin a hole in my pocket. I have done a little work on it since I got it home. It had a 3 inch lift installed when I picked up it with 215/70/15 tires on stock laredo wheels. Had a wagoneer grille, busted mirrors, roached bench seat, no stereo, and brake and tailight issues. can't forget the wicked aluminum topper either. Prior owner had instlled 1156 bulbs in the lower tailightsocket that would refeed the brake light circuit. Plus the connector on the brake light switch was burnt. Of course the 2.5 plastic valve cover was busted up. I bought a 94 wrangler 2.5 cast aluminum valve cover off ebay and fixed that. I think I have most of the bugs worked out except the slave cylinder started leaking yesterday. Oh well no big deal I have a hoist so this is an easy fix. I have swapped out the wheels thanks to renix power for that he had a set of wheels I needed and I had a comanche shell he wanted. I also swapped out the bench for 92 xj buckets, installed a pioneer cd player I had. Rockhound set me up with a set of BFG ATs I sold him awhile ago. I am putting them on tomorrow. I also scored a set of 97 up mirrors for it from renix power also. Thanks Guys here some pics of my budget beater. P.S. I am going to go look at another one on Sunday north of here with a sour motor. Wish me luck.

Nevermind that was wrong.

I can't find it to see what the deal is.

Its ok Collin we just cover it in mud and maybe get some body damage on it finally this coming spring @ MIOBI. Need to get that fairly new converted 4x4 broke in.

He wanted them on with the high beams tahts why he wired it the way he did. Other wise the lights would shut off when high beams were used. He used the factory fog light stuff and factory shuts the fogs off when usinghigh beams.

Straight up awesome
-
Basically he stated he borrowed constant from the cargo light. If he would have let the headlight wire the new lights would shut off when used his high beams. You should be okay that because the signal wire carries no load basically. Should at least uprade the power wire into the relay or add a second relay. Possibly could upgrade power wire and install a heavier relay to carry the extra load. HTH

RenixPower must have gone wheelin in the mall parking lot that is under construction. Really though trim them and use a cresent wrench to fold up the lip. It gets rid of the sharp lip and makes the fender stronger.

Comancheon33 Rebuild to return to the trails

Plus I have been busy with my 82 GMC crew cab 4x4. Will be an awesome custom ride. It is torn apart right now waiting on the body shop to fit the cab in to outline it. -
After I messed up the right side of MJ on Memorial Day weekend I kinda got fed up with my MJ. Plus it had an issue with cutting out, a gas tank leak and running a touch to warm for me. Rockhound seen the seen the damage it was bad. Anyways I finally got the time to pull it out and start the repairs. It has been a busy summer taking care of all loose ends from my Dads passing in Feburary. Not mention work and the house and on and on. Anyways here's where I stand now. What really got got a fire under me is a long time friend of mine called from Colorado. He is also a comanche fan. He had a box and gas tank from a comanche he needed to move and his parents were in town. They live about 20 minutes from me. Make a long story short I now have a spotless comanche shortbox and matching tank in my shop. Deal is this box is way to nice for my needs so I think I am going sell it and use another one I have on an 88 sportruck I have had laying around for awhile. It would a shame for this box to go on trail rig. Check the for sale forums for its listing in a few days. Here is the list of stuff I gotta do in the next few months. -Repair cab corner -Swap a box back on, swap front fenders and nose -Cut out rusted up rockers and replace with 2x4 or 2x6 box steel -Paint it all -Fix rear shock mounts -New radiator -Install my updated Rockkrawler steering parts. Bracket on right knuckle cracked up. I love having warranty. I know I havent been around in awhile glad to see this site is still growing. Plus all of the project MJs out there. See ya around and watch for updates.

What is wrong with some people these days. Someone tries to do the right thing and this happens. It is totally senseless. Thoughts are with you.

Slip yoke pulled out the t-case!
comancheon33 replied to MiNi Beast's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Find a longer slip yoke out of a YJ. I did that withmine till I put a 8.25 in and the rear was longer and pushed my slip yoke back in. Or like pete said have your driveshaft retubed. -
I would buy a TNT again before I would even consider a rustys. The groung clearence with the TNT is just as awesome as the way it flexes. The fit and customer service was great. Plus the way it all mounts to the belly pan and the way the belly pan is bolted to the MJ nothing is going anywhere with the TNT kit. Just my .02.

I ran the same fan set up on my 81 El Camino. It kept my temps right in line and fit almost perfect. I wired mine with the cheap control kit made by Hayden. Bought it @ Oreillys for like 30 bucks.
