  1. Eagle, you may have me on that one, I'll admit it. I've always seen an actual doctor that specializes in C.F. care, so I shouldn't have really spoken as a general statement. It's just been in my personal experiences that my set of doctors seem to be taking on more than they can, and therefore, as you mentioned, shorter visits with less information passed along. I apologize if my previous post is easily misconstrued, it wasn't my intentions.
  2. Cool, that's definitely a great buy then! Is it as rust free as it appears to be too?
  3. It won't let me copy/paste your info page onto here, so here's the site I used for a quick breakdown. http://jeep.avtograd.ru/vin/vin_en.asp
  4. Very nice! One of the few with the side vents closed off too; I kind of like it on that one though. Looks like a great buy for whatever you paid for it. What's on the list of future mods? Since we all know no true Jeeper can be satisfied with leaving a Jeep as is. :brows:
  5. Your first digit in your VIN is actually a 1, just to let you know. By running it with a 1, it shows correctly. ;)
  6. Give me some time, and it will happen, but with a 12B or 14B rear end. :brows:
  7. That's part of what got me as well. I've never heard of any MJ through the production run getting a factory OHC, much less one with a compass and temp gauge in it. The other parts that kind of bug me about it is that he claims that it's 100% unmolested stock, when he also mentions that the fog lights are new, and I had thought that the buckets in that style weren't available in the MJ? I could be wrong, as usual though. Other than that, I can agree that if it's low mileage, it may be worth the price asking. It was late in the evening when I was shown it, and hadn't had the best of days, so I may have come across wrongly when posting it on here.
  8. As someone who has been to a doctor/clinic at least once a month for my entire 28 1/2 year life, I can tell you all that times have definitely changed. It used to be that when I had an appointment and showed up early, I got in early; now if I show up early, I seem to have to wait longer than I would if I showed up on time, or even late. It is quite frustrating, yes, but at the same token, the doctors are also putting more upon themselves nowadays than they did in the past.
  9. I ended up with Baby on a whim. My mom's ex sister in law's ex husband had owned it, and she got it in the divorce, and didn't want it. She told me $600 and I could have it. Being only 16 at the time, I jumped at it, not even knowing what a Comanche was, just that I liked it. After I bought it, and put it in my mom's name as I was under 18, my mom started to liking it as well. In fact, my mom liked it so much that it took me until i was 20 to finally get the title from her! Throughout the years of owning Baby, I have taught a friend (that passed away in '04) how to drive manual with it, drove it through a creek with water up to the windshield (and it kept running too), and took it over a dirt jump. It is definitely THE vehicle I will never get rid of until the day I leave this earth; and when that happens, the next owner is already on this board. :clapping:
  10. Was found by a friend of mine, thought I'd pass it along for you guys to nit-pick apart. http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/1655871757.html
  11. Not to be nit-picky, but could you please change your sig? There is only one M in Comanche. ;) Other than that, I commend you for your services, and glad you were able to come back in one piece.
  12. Hrmm.. This one may be a viable candidate for us saving the one in Appleton?
  13. :fs2: Looks good Rob.
  14. How (and how much) was it lowered front and rear? :brows: Are you going to sell the front air dam? :brows: It's beautiful just as is, I would have bought it too! Hell, I'd almost trade you my Cherokee for that thing! Almost, but I need the room of the XJ.
  15. First page of the DIY section, not even halfway down. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8093
  16. As with anything of value, it's only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Just as a reference, I sold the exact same truck as you are trying to sell, but with only 117,000 miles on it. I started off asking $1200, then $900, then $600, and finally $400 but sold it for a little less because I had no room for it, and needed it gone.
  17. That would be jbhill's MJ on an S10 frame. He has a couple different threads in the projects section on the buildup of it.
  18. My 88 with a 2.5/AX5 is only a 2wd, and let me tell you, it PULLS! It don't matter if it's from a dead stop, or cruising on the interstate, all I have to do is half to three quarter throttle, and she's gone. I had taken her down to a meet and greet a while ago (when I lowered her), and on our way back, Geonovast, Jeepco, and I were playing pass the leader on the interstate. I kept her in 5th gear the whole time, and never had any troubles passing them up. They could have swore I dropped a gear to get by them as fast as I did, but I never once dropped a gear once I got to speed. This is on a 160k mile motor that has seen a LOT of abuse from me in the past, so I wouldn't discredit the 2.5s very much.
  19. Thanks, and thanks to you as well for pointing me to it.
  20. You guys do realize that this thread is over a year old, right?
  21. Via an online decoder I found, it looks to be a 1975 Cherokee, made in Toledo, OH. It was a 3 speed with a 258 C.I.D. 6 cylinder. Here's the site I used, it encompasses a lot of the older Jeeps, as well as some of the newer stuff as well. http://www.offroaders.com/tech/jeep/vin_72-80.htm
  22. ^^ Lives in a 'fruity' town. :rotfl2:
  23. If I remember right, there is a few members here that have used the Sherman ones. I can't remember who though, but I'd suspect a search may yield an answer. EDIT: Found a thread of talk on them you may want to read up on. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8624&start=0&hilit=sherman+floorpans
  24. I'd say it was interesting! Some people just :chillin: too much these days, and then get  that they think are good, when in reality they are  . Enough to make a person :wall: after until they get :ack: . Sometimes it just takes a good :fool: to get them back to reality. Good deal on getting it, along with all the extra parts though. Even if you just resell a lot of the extra stuff, you'll come out ahead, as you have a solid MJ to build up.
