I haven't opened mine up yet but I did order from this guy. He had a number listed and I called him to discuss it and make sure he knew what I had/needed. I ordered and paid for it and received it in less than a week. I will open the box and see what it looks like when i get back friday.

88 comanche Kirkland, il $800
gl1200aman replied to gl1200aman's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I do not have anything. I called the number and listed what he said. He also said that he had 2 people coming to look at it. When he said he does not have a title but he has paperwork to get a title from the PO I lost interest. Sounded kinda fishy and if not a hassle to title. -
my gas...in my truck..lol

The 88 comanche laredo, with 4.0 5spd, I drove back from NV. got 20+ mpg but that was with no a/c running. at 65-70mph in 55-65 deg. temp was 20 mpg. When it got warmer (70's) I had to slow to 60 mph to keep the temp around 210 or lower (found out later no thermostat) and then got 21 mpg. -
That's what I thought and that's why I asked. My 88 4.0 with 5 speed and a/c has the elec. fan.

They had the new black and chrome available for 62.36 so I ordered it. It should look better than the plain black. I also ordered the stainless trim that fits the gauges from Ebay. They also have the mod kit for the CPS avilable ($92.04) for the 4.0 but you have to use the parts number search using part number 83100066. http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/

Thanks for the picture. That is one sweet looking truck also.

Yeah min e is the 4.0 with automatic and no a/c. Mounts are there but no wiring. Just wanted to know if it was suppose to have one. Thanks for the info.

does anyone have a picture of what the black and chrome or silver and chrome cluster bezel looks like? I found a dealer site that has them available but there is no picture of what they look like. there are a few woodgrain available on Ebay but i'm not interested in that.

Did the 90 comanche with the 4.0 I6 automatic and 4x4 have the electric fan or is it only the clutch fan? I could not find the wiring for it like on the 88 5 speed i have. There is also no sensor in the radiator.

1990 4.0 auto random cutout
gl1200aman replied to gl1200aman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I pulled the IAC motor and cleaned it. I also found the stud holding the dipstick was loose but the nut holding the ground wires was tight. I removed the ground wires and then the stud and cleaned all the oil off of them. I then tightened the stud and reinstalled the wires. I have not tried it yet. Over the last few years the PO has had a few thousand dollars of repair done to it. Head gasket, rebuilt dana 35 rearend, reman starter, front axle joints and seals, new radiator and water pump to name a few. Too bad the body isn't that great. -
I did a quick search on ebay and this is the first one to pop up. $1.00 & $4.99 shipping http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-88-96-Car-Radio-Wire-Harness-Plug-Metra-70-1002-/390178693920?pt=Car_Audio_Video

97 4.0 no spark won't start
gl1200aman replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
as stated two posts before yours -
What will cause the motor to randomly feel like it stopped? While driving down the road (maintaining same speed) it seems like the motor stops for 1/2 to 1 second and then resumes. Sometimes it is repetitive and if I press the accelerator down it runs normal. Could it be a loose ground, auto idle control, tps? Just bought it as a fillin while repairing the 88 I have.

I bought one of the plugs for the factory radio on Ebay.

new to me manche, new to me problems...
gl1200aman replied to beaterheep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If that is the case, can you replace the fuse panel/block without the whole harness or do you need to replace the whole thing? -
What order did you bleed them in? It should be r rear then l rear followed by r front and finally l front. Wrong order may leave air.
-
Are you talking about the one behind the curved plastic cover? If yes, you will see there is a rod that opens and closes it and there is a vacuum control there also.

I think he said something about 39 to 72 east then left on some road and go north like 3 miles. Don't know for sure because the phone connection was kinda crappy. He also said something about he has another one that he will be selling soon. -
Needs work and he thinks it may have a blown head gasket. Plus he lost the title.
