Not much of a picture guy, but i used a similar roof cement except that it came in a paint can and I applied it with a putty knife. I ended up with a killer headache, probably from fumes of burining sealer, etc...from welding. I finished the patching but ran out off time. I slammed the seat back in and sprayed some primer on the bottom. I will have to pull the seat back out and POR or such ASAP. Nice work!

It was offered as part of a package deal for my SJ Chero's, a jeep project that had stalled ( that never happens, does it?). I have always liked MJ's and had almost bought one new in '89, but got a ragtop Mustang GT instead. So...I now gotz an MJ! It is my 10th jeep...

http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/xj_swap.htm You'd be better off swapping in 4.10 gears

Factory- not on the XJ/MJ There are aftermarket options that could have been swapped in. -

I know you have probably thought of and eliminated this possibility, but are the spindle bearings up to snuff? I was thinking maybe it could be a combination of issues...

Those signs as posted above are a lot like the "make your own license plate" B.S. : They operate on the basic premise that the Government is unconstitutional and therefore has no legitimate purpose. If you read the sign you will even see that incorporated. Yeah, umm, the courts are going to agree that the government does not exist? These things are part of what is called a "sham legal process" and partaking of same is outlawed in many states and, in some cases, are felonies. Post any and all of the signs a person may want, but they might as well be posting a Miley Cyrus concert ad for all of the legality of most of them. -
I know people that have been burnt by them. The rear shocks on my KJ's "rockfather" lift did not last 8,000 miles before they had to be replaced. Search here and several jeep sites, like lostjeeps.com, and you will find all sorts of info to help you decide what you want to do as afar as RRO goes. OME springs are great, though.

Off of that ebay ad: Availability does not imply that an item is in stock ready for shipment. Manufacturers do get behind in their orders. We do our best to keep items in stock but due to sales to local customers, Online customers outside of ebay, as well as in house customer jobs we cannot guarantee the item to be in stock, therfore All items in our ebay store are considered special order items unless stated otherwise above the description. All special order items may take an additional 6 weeks before shipment. (some rare applications have taken as much as 8 weeks(NOT including the shipping time) Most items however are shipped within 5 business days. Special order items are odered direct from the manufacturer on a per order basis. If this is a problem please do not bid. If you need the item sooner please check with us to determine if the item is currently in stock, or to determine the estimated shipping date. So, even if you buy it with the ad saying it is "available" it may be over 2 months before they get it to you...sounds like going through http://www.summitracing.com was a good move.

I actually ride. For S&G's, I rode 1,017 miles Thursday and Friday! Change of clothes in the saddles bags, debit card in my pocket, and took off. '07 with 49,512 trouble free miles. 50 mpg and it sees at least 100mph most every time I am on it. No, it is not the fastest tourer: but it is a true to ITS heritage and not a copy. One comment about a sensitive subject: Does Honda consider itself an American company? Of course not. Just as BMW assembles cars here and it does not consider itself an American company. The claim that Honda or BMW's are American is not at all accurate by their own preferences and statements if nothing else. I do not mind bikes that look like what they are: Honda, etc... The GL is an outstanding tourer and, while its styling is not my thing, it is its own design. Many companies make almost exact copies of Harley models. While imitation is the surest form of flattery, I personally do not want the octomom who tries to LOOK like Angelina Jolie over Angelina. To each his own though. Yes, I also chuckle at inner city residents who dress like cowboys or guys who dress like Elvis every day...

Sig about says it: '05 KJ with the 3.7 and 6spd. Tne 6spds got the NVG241J t-case over the 231 available in about everything else. 2.5" lift and 245/75/16 M/T's. Aussie for the rear.

A review/update on the Centramatics?

Have you done any "ciphering" on this?

I have had numerous FSj's. I just sold a driver '79 Chief with 1/2 the rust, no wreck damage, and that already had the floors repaired ( i am positive that one in the pics will have zero usable front floor boards ) for less than what he wants for that. Unless you want to part it or cut it for a trail beater, that is beyond saving economically. :( $500 tops, IMHO.

Allpar is not as great a great source as it is giving credit for being, IMHO. For example, the JK uses the NVG241J in the Command-trac, not the NVG231J as THEY list it. They do countless mix-ups and because it is the "ALLPAR" it gets passed on as fact. That is pretty much the liberty KK drivetrain in the IFS pics, IIRC. The ALLPAR gurus also failed to pick up the KK has the rear suspension that is described in the article. Having a base Wrangler with IFS and another SFA makes zero sense in a cost-cutting era.

YJ's, with their square headlights and funky springs, were ignored by the jeep "faithful" at first, as well.

For those on here ( certainly not me :D ) who may be old enough to remember the intro of the XJ, it was universally hated among the jeep folks. It was panned as a K-car with a front axle, replacing the beloved icon that was the original Chero. It was not until years later ( mainly when they became cheap enough for 'wheelers to buy them and bash them) that they began to get the love. Now jeepers talk about them in reverence. Perceptions change, and initial perceptions can be wrong.

First weekend or two of August?

LostJeeps.com's Ohio group ( mainly KJ-ers) wants to get some more jeeps together for a weekend there. Maybe the two groups could get something going?

And the understatement of the year award goes to.... :D ( yes, I have stroker envy)

:hijack: Does losing the doors hurt the body rigidity much? I have towed an XJ behind a KJ before and I think the 1,000#'s more that the KJ weighed made a huge difference. I'd bet that the Colorado would do just fine with your MJ as it has a longer wheelbase than the KJ.
