Still looking for a set of wheels for my 35x12.50 Pitbull Rockers for the upcoming season. Found these on Amazon cheap and look good on pics in reviews. $49 each is pretty cheap imho for wheels to thrash around... Any input? https://smile.amazon.com/TACTIK-Classic-Wrangler-1987-2006-Backspace/dp/B0855JXWB4/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=TACTIK%2BCircle%2B8%2BClassic%2B15%2BInch%2BWheel%2Bfor%2BJeep&qid=1616008448&sr=8-2&th=1

March 2021 MJOTM-89eliminator, again
EvilMJ replied to 89 MJ's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
Ridiculous!!! (but I love it!!) -
I need to find some MJ/Jeep guys down around Chattanooga to hang with this year lol
-
Moab is a long drive for me lol. I think I'll be staying around KY/TN/IN for the most part.
-
It's about the time of year to go wheelin'... can't wait!
-
Thank you sir. As do I!
-
I didn't get to use it, but I put a Smitty X20 10K on the MJ before the ice came just in case. Made for a nice snow covered picture. It's on a receiver, so I can take it front to rear (need to add rear harness), and I have a storage dock on bed behind the driver's door.

There is one that runs around in Bowling Green, KY - talked to him once. See a couple in drives broke down every weekend when I head toward Owensboro, KY/Evansville, IN. Once day I'll stop and buy them lol

Great looking truck man!

HOrnbrod, thank you VERY much for posting this fix. I broke mine several months ago and just tensioned it as best I could until I found a fix... This is my fix!

I know, but it's about like a standard steel wheel. Replacement rings avail. If becomes an issue, could have machine shop make thicker replacements. I'm not one to destroy my rigs off-road; I usually drive to-and-from unless it's a long ways away. I've never damaged a wheel on my CJs or my Defenders... just thought these would be nice when airing down in the soft stuff. Need the wheels for my other tires and these are as cheap as a set of standard steelies... Just trying to get everyone's input - I appreciate you chiming in!

Looks like inners are 3/16, outers are 1/8 from what I can find checking replacement rings...

Kind of my thoughts all the way around. My rig weighs around 4300#s, but I tote around a 35" spare, extra fuel, and a fabbed bed; I'm not putting it under heavy stress however. They would be for my offroad tires. They are only one-side beadlocks, but its the side that takes the abuse. Plus, you can only run a tire "off" the outside lol.

So, I came across these roundy-round wheels on ebay and Speedway's website (cheaper at Speedway): https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Aero-53-184520-53-Series-15x8-Inch-Wheel-BL-5x4-5-2-Inch-BS,91031.html Our bolt pattern, multiple offsets available, 15s, and "designed for vehicles up to 3500#s". Well, we may be a bit over the "designed" limit, but we aren't running 80 mph in circles bouncing off walls! lol I have a full set of Pitbull Rockers I took off my truck needing wheels... what do you guys think? There are several different models, colors, sizes, etc. (I just took the pic of the black Aeros), but they get down to about $120/ wheel..

I know I am re-reviving an old topic, but has anyone else noticed on RockAuto that some of reman boxes fit old Buicks, Caddies, AMCs, Dodges, Pontiacs, S10s, Tahoes, etc??? Anyone ever looked into better ratios on factory GM boxes??
-
Oh you administrators with your good ideas and protocols!! lol
-
Not to hijack the thread here, but I checked out their site. What's the deal with the metric tons vs the 4-1/2s? I measured and need to be about 4-1/2 in the rear - currently about 12-1/4 from top of axle to bottom of frame, and its sagging at least an inch. Front coils from lower perch to upper mounts is roughly 18-3/4. Anyone have any thoughts?? Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm spring over axle...

It's not a habit, its cool... I fell alive... I still have a collection of Jeeps, a collections of Rovers, a collection of BMWs... I'm fine. I promise!
-
I know, right?!? lol That's the best time of year!!!

I usually wheel what I drive, but then again I don't try to destroy my rig when I'm offroad. However, if I get the R380 in my Defender, maybe I could trailer the MJ up, then I'd have two rigs to wheel! lol (one for the wife). The MJ is impossible to use as a tow rig - rear springs too soft and rear bumper is too high. Speaking of springs, what's the best rear spring to get a good lift? Mine are only two leaf and they ride great. (no idea as to what they are) However, I have flatened/kinked them hauling too big of loads lately - 46 boxes of flooring was apparently not a good idea!

I lived in Reading PA for a couple years, but never made it to Carlisle for the Jeep Show - did hit the Bug Out one time. It's about a 11-12hr run for me now. I still have friends up there I need to go see... may be a plan (if we don't all die! lol

It depends on it's mood lol It is generally fairly tame and reliable, but it has drawn it's share of blood! The bed is fabricated almost entirely from lightweight DOM rect tube and 12ga (i think) diamond plate. Only other pieces are some pieces of angle used for the gate, the hinges, receiver for winch in side, and a couple reinforcements underneath sideboards and bed. Simple, light, strong, and efficient used of materials. I can't really think of any changes I'd make except some sort of integral toolbox.

Mines kind of self explanatory... its an MJ and it's dark and evil. Evil off/on road, and more evil when it breaks down! lol
