Parts Suppliers? for common xj parts?
JMO413 replied to CoastChief's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Dorman make the new bottle. My O'Reilly's had one in a day. -
I understand completely but if your not going to keep it I doubt you will get all the extra $$ back out of it. It is a very good looking truck.

Strange Mirror replacement?
JMO413 replied to CoastChief's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Possibly just replace the mirror head? http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&urlLangId=-1&productId=51040&urlRequestType=Base&langId=-1&catalogId=10002 -
2 wheel drive. Is what I believe he was referring to.

IMHO- Fresh paint and trans rebuild would be all I would do. That is if you can get the paint done very reasonably which it sounds like you can.No need to fix what's not broken. Factory correct color on the paint also. Not allot of people are going to spend over $10K on a 30+ year old truck. Most of the built ones that are over $10k that are for sale have been for sale a while.

I thought I posted these here. I will try to get a better scan of each page rather than a picture.

You can only arrange three letters so many ways before you start over.

I'm just glad the shirts come in 3X.

Alexia's 1987 To 1997 Comanche
JMO413 replied to Alexia's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
I would say a manual every time. But I just like driving a stick. I feel more in control. -
I will try to get scans of the parts manuals that decipher the VIN and see if we can get them somewhere everyone can access them.
-
I think it's been asked but about chance of hoodies in 3X?
-
More pictures please. You should add your VIN in the registry. That is going to be a fun ride!!

That is a amazing looking truck!

They are. I had bolts in there that I might go back to. Actually thinking about making some bolts with a washer and a wing nut welded to it. The NOS retainers just feel brittle.

Awesome! Glad it was of use.

Good take on a classic.

I've seen three in the town I love in and that's it. Mine I believe it's the only one that is driven constantly. The only other ones I've seen I had to drive to Dzimms house to see his and Pete's 1/2 a Comanche.

A total of 190,446 Comanches were made during its production run. That is from Wikipedia.

Welcome. Glad I could help.

I'm guessing 12 and 18 gauge. Not 100% sure the word were in the connectors when I got them. The larger matches some 12 gauge I had paving l laying around. The smaller wire is just a little bit smaller than the 16 gauge I have laying around so I would guess 18.

Yep I hear those words allot!!

Good looking truck! Welcome to the club! I would definitely pay $6000 for that truck. The lack of rust is amazing!

Got tired of looking at my driver's chrome door handle bezel peeling. Bought a set on eBay. This one is in much better shape! I was cleaning the new one and finally realized the driver and passenger side bezel are the same. They have the same part number stamped in them. Thought it was interesting one was made by EATON. The other was made by SINGER. Both have the same part number stamped in them. I then moved in to the trailer wiring. I didn't like how the first harness fit. It was just too long and didn't fit great. The second one I made was much more compact. It definitely fits better. Drilled a hole in the bumper to mount the new trailer wiring plug. I got the harness cut down and a connector put on it. Then I pulled it though the hole. You almost can see it there when the flap is closed. It's now easy to access and the wiring is up out of the way. $4 well spent on the new trailer harness end. Final tinkering project for the day was adjusting the rear brakes. That went quite well for a change. Next will be cleaning up the new to me axle assembly's. But out of time for today.
