  1. Ok, so buy it and then you can sell your slow car.
  2. All years WJ have the same one, or only specific years work?
  3. What's your price range?
  4. 1) Clayton Longarms 2) Advanced Adapters SYE Kit 3) AX-15 Swap for the BA-10
  5. I never made a tow-bar for it for flat towing so I don't have any pics of that. Get creative, it should come easy once you have the tow points made up. Like I said in my original post, I use this more for recovery use than anything else. Yes, it would be pretty easy to extend it as far back into the truck as you want to. I've never needed to though. If you think you need to do so, be my guest.

1990, Jeep Comanche, Base. Stock Configuration: 4.0L / AW-4 / D35 / SWB Notes: I bought this truck on December 14th, 2007. It had 100,286 miles on it then and it was completely stock. I think that the factory color of this truck was Pearl White. It had a gray interior with a bench seat. The rear window was a one piece window, the wing windows were fixed. The truck did have Air Conditioning, but no power options, with the basic gauge cluster and column shift transmission shifter. The truck came with factory 10 hole steel wheels and black center-caps. No evidence of any previous uni-body damaging accidents. Current Configuration: 4.0L (Original) / AW-4 (Original) / D35 (Original) Notes: The truck is now painted multiple shades of white (whatever white spray bomb can was handy) The bed has inherited the drop in "Comanche" bedliner from my 1988 MJ as well as rec'd a Delta Champion Toolbox. The front bumper has been modified to accept $500 MJ's Front Tow Points. The interior is essentially stock. Air Conditioning has been completely removed from the truck. A 10 slot grille and fender badges from an '86 MJ have been added to the truck (not shown in pic). The motor is stock, with the addition of a Hesco Hi-flow Waterpump. The trans is stock. The rear axle is stock. The front axle is stock with the addition of Frozen Rotors slotted brake rotors. Wheels are 15 x 8" Jeep TJ Canyons. Current Mileage 114,500. Build date: Not Known Current Location: Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The truck was bought in Laurium, Michigan (I know I am at least the fourth owner - previous owner bought the truck from "University Auto Used Car Dealer, Sebastian Florida" - Sticker is still on the tailgate). Status: Daily Driver & Weekend Traveler Current & Forever owner: Brent Marsh I am going to keep this page up to date with the changes this truck goes through, there are still lots of things that are planned, I don't think it will ever be "done". This page was last updated on 6-20-2010.

1988, Jeep Comanche, Base. Stock Configuration: 4.0L / BA-10 / D35 / SWB Notes: I bought this truck on May 13th, 2006. It had 104,XXX miles on it then and it was completely stock. I don't know the name for the factory paint color, it was a navy blue metallic paint though. It had a dark blue interior with a bench seat. The truck had a "Comanche" drop in bed-liner. The rear window was a one piece window, the wing windows were fixed. No Air Conditioning and no power options, with the basic gauge cluster. The truck had factory 10 hole steel wheels on it with black center caps and stainless beauty rings. The truck had previously been in an accident, forever tweaking the uni-body on the drivers side. The impact happened in the drivers side front. Current Configuration: 4.0L (Original) / AX-15 ('89 YJ) / NP-231 AMC ('90 MJ) / D30 ('92 XJ) / D44 ('87 XJ) Notes: The truck is now painted 2003 Chrysler Electric Blue Metallic with color matched rocker panel spray. The bed and bumpers were coated with a spray on bed-liner at the local body shop. Gray bucket seats from a '92 MJ have replaced the stock bench and a Gray XJ center console has been added, the rest of the interior is stock. A sliding rear window has replaced the stock one piece, wing windows were replaced with the pop open type. A factory MJ cargo light and switch panel have been added. A Full gauge cluster has been added to the instrument panel, with a Radioshack CB Radio and Astatic CB Antenna. The truck is lifted with a combination of Rusty's Offroad, Rubicon Express, M.O.R.E., JKS, and Clayton Offroad aftermarket parts. The front Bumper is a JCR Offroad Stage 4 model. The rear bumper is the "original" $500 MJ Rear Bumper, made to match the front JCR Offroad bumper well before JCR Offroad started making their version. A spare tire carrier has been fabricated for the bed and a removable Chrome Rollbar with additionally removable Canoe Rack have been fitted to the truck. Chrome trims for the doors came from an XJ Wagoneer, Chrome tailgate handle, 10 slot grille and fender badges from an '86 MJ. The motor is stock. The trans is stock. The transfer case has undergone the Advance Adapters SYE Kit. The front driveshaft is a stock XJ shaft. The rear shaft has been fabricated to fit the SYE kit. The rear axle is currently geared at 3.55 and is open, '98 ZJ disc brakes have been adapted to this axle. The front axle is stock, open, and geared at 3.55. Wheels are 15 x 10" Eagle Alloy Series 187 (no longer available). The tires are 33 x 12.5 x R15 Yokohama Geolander AT + II. Current mileage 130,XXX. Build date: Not Known Current Location: Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The truck was bought in Paris, Michigan (I know I am at least the third owner). Status: Daily Driver & Weekend Warrior Current & Forever owner: Brent Marsh I am going to keep this page up to date with the changes this truck goes through, there are still lots of things that are planned, I don't think it will ever be "done". 8. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It all depends on what warehouse it came from.
  9. I hope this happens more often. My neighbor works there (RockAuto is based out of Madison) and got me the hook up once he found out I get lots and lots of parts from them.
  10. It is a trac-lok. I tried to pop it out tonight and I kinda got it. I got the bearing on the ring gear side to move out, but then had to stop cause I didn't have the right tools to finish it farther. Its still in there pretty tight... this is by far the tightest fit I've ever dealt with. :dunno:
  11. Well, Here is the situation that I am really in. Yes, I could use one of these for uninstalls and re-installs, I've heard that it does make the job easier... However, I see the other side of things. I've taken carriers out of multiple D30 axles where they just popped out. I've never played with anything greater than a D30, and my experience playing with them has always been taking them out, I've never put one back in. So...really I have no experience re-gearing an axle, even though I am very familiar with the workings of the stock open differentials. I just bought a D44 from a yard locally and I set out to remove the carrier from the axle and I could not get it to pop out of the casting like all the D30 carriers have in the past. I started looking at it harder and it seems that the carrier is a limited slip setup. At least thats what I think it is, there seem to be clutches behind the spider gears on the axle shafts. Being that I've never messed with a limited slip, I started thinking that I now need to get a case spreader to remove it... Thats what has gotten me where I am right now.
  12. I'm looking to buy one of these soon for some gear changing madness that is bound to occur at my place down the road. Does anyone have any brands that they would shy away from or recommend? I'll be needing to change gears in D30 and D44 axles. I've been thinking of making a spreader myself...? :dunno:
  13. So you still need a set of lights? I've got a set that are useable, but in no way perfect. I know I'll never use them on either of my trucks. What are you willing to pay total for them? Before I ship them, I'll need to have payment in hand. I can get pics tonight if you are interested.
  14. Welcome to the cool guy club.
  15.
  16. :needpics: This weekend shoots anything for me, I'm dog-sitting for the neighbors... I guess we might be able to work something out if it were just a 1/2 day trip though...
  17. This is sad, we've been dead for awhile...
  18. Whatever you do, get rid of the car before it sucks you under farther. No car is worth going into debt over (not able to make payments on it) in my opinion. You wanted my advise, thats it.
  19. Yes. I wouldn't waste my time with anything else.
  20. Time for an update. The newly rebuilt heater box works GREAT. Finally blowing nice and hot, I hate to say it but I can't wait for winter now! Last weekend I took the truck back to Michigan for the Memorial day weekend and hauled another load of junk back over to Wisconsin on the return trip. The old girl took it like a trooper and cruised along just fine. Now I've got my canoe over here so I can use it! I've also been hitting the local junkyards for the past month or so and I found something of interest to me there: I got the springs and driveshaft coming with it. I don't know what the future holds for it, but it WILL be going in this truck sooner or later. ;)
  21. Its been kinda nasty here in south central WI the last few days too...
  22. Your truck is worth more as it is right now than if you were to take it to a half A$$ed paint shop. Save your money (and your MJ's dignity) and get it done RIGHT once.
  23. Came across this tonight. I don't need it, who does? http://madison.craigslist.org/pts/1765667823.html call Randy @ 608 446 0929
  24. Are VIN #'s really needed?
  25. No Correy.
