Currently in search for 84-86 XJs with the selec-trac 4wheel drive set up. The mode shifter and other things associated with the set up. I need the following: Mode shifter assembly, this shifts the t-case from 2wd-4wd on the fly Below is the part above broken up oh and No.20 for the shifter itself. Annnnnd: No 21 in this pic. I will try my 207 lever when it is out if nothing pops up. Parts can also be found on SJ's as well.

Honestly? I don't know of any. I know there is the AZ 4x4 club and possibly a group called XJ outlaws but I really don't know since everything has migrated towards the internet. I did how ever join the cactus chapter of the American Motors Owners club recently. If you find a group that isnt full of snarky JK owners, I would be happy to give it a whirl. But most everyone here in AZ are jeeple. Meaning they arent Jeep enthusiasts. Ill wave at the XJs, YJs and anything older but I usually wait for the newer models to recognize what I am driving.

Drivers side seat fabric and what not is now swapped over to the "new" frame. Went on a mad panic to find the lever for the seat only to learn I left in the XJ I pulled the seat from. But its broke! Ha, thats why I don't have it. Lol. Anywho I ordered a NOS one from ebay. Should see that in a month.

Could also run a little bit of ATF in the crank case too. But you shouldn’t have any issues. You could set an X amount of miles to run the sea foam and change it and see what it has done.

Sure looks like it. Sounds like a cheap AMC way to do it haha. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for the production of these.

Hopefully someone with a NOS one will chime in as I have a few caps that need repaired. I am willing to bet they relied on the chrome behind the logo if the logo really is clear.

Well it’s possible it will leak oil from right there but you’re fine to drive it as is currently.

Yup for the most part you should be good to go!

You should be fine to install the trans. The Chrysler A900 series shouldn’t need a TCU I think but the 2.8L and 2.5L shared the same auto trannys from 84-86. Now if you have one of those rare AW4’s behind the 2.5L, then I’ll be damned haha.
