  1. Looks like a LWB roll bar in a short bed
  2. From what I understand, the dryer is the most sensitive component to the atmosphere. So when installing it, is there some technique or will it be fine to be exposed to the outside air for a few seconds while I hook up the lines and get the vacuum going? I don't wanna accidentally ruin it.
  3. Ok sweet, I was not looking forward to spending $80 on 2 switches lol.
  4. https://www.rockauto.com/?carcode=1181674&parttype=17507 In this kit I ordered, the compressor is set up to already have r134a PAG oil in it. So would it be safe to assume the dryer has the proper HPRV and HPCO mounted already?
  5. I just didn't know anything about the HPRV or the HPCO. Is that necessary when swapping to r134a?
  6. No yea literally everything is getting replaced. The only thing in the a/c system that will be old is two a/c lines(the one going from the condenser to the dryer, and the one going from the dryer to the expansion valve). I believe the new compressor will actually come prefilled with the right mineral oil but I'll have to check.
  7. I was under the impression that essentially I could just buy all new components for my r12 system, then change out the orings, and put PAG oil in the compressor then it would be ready to take r134a(with adapter fittings on the compressor ofc). Do I need to do the HPRV and HPCO?
  8. If mine ever starts to give me issues I'll look into it
  9. Just ordered a new compressor, orings, drier, expansion valve, condensor, and two lines. I'm gonna try to make my existing ones work, and if they actually fail then at least I'll know what it is right away lol.
  10. I actually have a second assembly for the brake switch from my parts MJ, I wonder if the plastic sleeve would fit there?
  11. Actually I'm not gonna get that kit from Jeep Air, I can just get each individual piece and it's half the cost by the end of it.
  12. Thats a good point, if I can't find anything I could probably take my old ones to get new custom ones made.
  13. The yellow circle is the two metal lines I was talking about, I could just order a new condenser that has them included and probably will. The Blue and Green lines are the ones I don’t see on rock auto. Considering I have the ones on my truck, and these from the very rusty 87 parts truck, I could just see which look the best and use them, but if I can buy new ones somewhere I want to do that
  14. I like these ideas, I just don't wanna drill a hole in the outside of my black center console😭
  15. Update: I'm finally getting around to buying the parts to do my swap. I've decided to get get brand new everything, including the lines that way hopefully nothing can go wrong. As discussed in this thread before, I've decided to get this kit https://jeepair.com/products/copy-of-1987-1990-wrangler-r134a-conversion-kit?variant=41322890789061 and this compressor https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Conditioner-CO-4653C-Compressor/dp/B003R4QXG6/ref=sr_1_6?qid=1676651715&s=automotive&sr=1-6&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.304cacc1-b508-45fb-a37f-a2c47c48c32f&vehicle=1989-42-347------------14&vehicleName=1989+Jeep+Cherokee. That leaves just the lines and condensor. Since the kit says it has everything you need as long as your compressor works, I'm assuming I should be buying 1989 lines and the condensor, and just use the r134a orings from the kit. In order to keep things simple I'm just gonna buy those from rock auto. -Slight problem, there are a total of 4 lines(if you don't count the solid metal ones coming off the condensor. The suction and discharge line are the only ones I see on rock auto. Where could I find the one going from the condensor the the drier, and the drier to the expansion valve? I have the entire A/C system from my parts 87 MJ still, I'll send a pic from my phone with the lines I'm talking about highlighted.
  16. I figured it could be assumed I was talking about the truck in my signature, but it’s a 1989 base model swb that came originally as 2wd with the BA/10 trans. Now is 4wd with the AX15 from a YJ
  17. Yea the MJ this came off of had skid plates, tow hooks, d44, rollbar, fog lights, power windows etc
  18. Correct, and there’s more info on their Instagram page and website
  19. The Caffeine and Octane car show's theme for July 2nd will be all Jeeps. I'm planning on going with my MJ, anybody else?
  20. yea it was strange lol
  21. Another thing that came with the 87 Chief parts truck. If anybody wants it lmk, I have no idea if it’s rly worth anything to anyone lol
  22. Ah ok
  23. Saw this 96 xj in the junkyard today and it had a leaf spring conversion kit. Just wondering, can anybody tell from the pics if that’s still a HP D30? Also what’s in the back, an 8.8?
  24. Yea I don’t want one in front of the console storage, as for the other one I don’t rly care too much about taking up passenger leg room, I just want at least 1 cup holder somewhere that won’t spill your average fast food cup
  25. My clutch pedal has a lot of play, all of it is from where the master cylinder rod connects to the linkage. It looks like there is a grommet that I’m either missing, or it’s just that worn down. -Is there somewhere I can order a new one from? If not, what’s the most recommended way to make one/fix it?
