Ok. Lol that took a really dumbed down version until I understood. Thanks for the help

Sorry if I'm not getting it I'm still kinda new.

So, if I remove the brackets from the bench seat(however it may take) and keep them in the floor, will the XJ seats fit?
-
I meant if I left the seat brackets from the bench in the floor, and just unbolted the bench, if the XJ seats would bolt right onto the MJ brackets.

Power steering pump pulley
Warren99 replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok, I'll need to go get one soon. My power steering pulley is cracked, and the whole shaft that it slides onto is crooked. Wait, wouldn't that mean that I need a whole new pump if the shaft the pulley is on is bent? I have a parts XJ(95), with a perfectly good one. Right now, I'm trying to figure this out, because I don't want to spend 10 bucks or whatever renting a puller, only to find out that I could have just swapped over the entire pump(or had to). -
My 89 has a bench, and I have seats from a 95 XJ. Will the XJ seats fit in my MJ, and if they need to be adjusted, how much of a pain is it?

Do you think there would be one at a local O'reilys or Advance? -
Low mileage 87 w/plow - Goshen, NY $3000

Only 82k miles? Dang. -
What kind of puller do I need to get the power steering pulley off? I bought it for so cheap because it was hit with a deer, and one of the many bent things was the power steering pulley. Can someone give me a link or something for the kind of puller I need to get, or a youtube video showing it? I have a regular puller but I'm pretty sure I need some kind of special one for this.

I'm a bit late to this, but we got hit also. I'm just south of Atlanta. It started around, I wanna say 12'ish, maybe. It lasted for a few hours and we heard hail. My MJ was parked outside, but it was already littered with hail damage. In fact, my brother was calling it project golf ball(its also white). A tree barely missed the shop, but landed on a trailer. The trailer was more prefered because a tree, from not too long ago, fell on the shop, and we just replaced the roof.

Ok. Thanks for the input.

I saw an ad on craigslist, it was for a part XJ. The transfer case was only $150. I'm not sure if it will work for my 89 MJ, but assuming it will, is this a good deal, because it seems really good. Like I said, I don't know the condition of it, or if it will work for me, but this seems like a steal.

Most brands don't have any for an MJ, so what do you do? Like, if you got a 4.5 inch lift in the front(from an XJ kit), then what size lift goes in the back? All I know is that XJ and MJ lifts are similar, but different.
-
I'm looking for a 3-4 inch lift kit for my 89. I want to fit 32's under it, and also don't want to spend anything over 2,000. Any suggested brands that I should look at? Thanks

What have I created?

Alright. Thanks for the help. I'll update when I make some progress.

Ok thanks. How hard would it be to put the 3 spoke parts into the other column?
-
So can I just swap out the parts for the 3 spoke wheel into the column I have now? I'm still new so bare with me please.
-
Thanks, but I think mine may be different. I never did much tearing into it, all I did was unscrew and take off the wheel, before seeing the issue. I will get picture up whenever I get the chance, and whenever I actually remember to. There is a little plastic tube that sticks up, and gets in the way. Coming out of the tube are wires, which if you grab the wires and push down, they will spring down into the tube. I have a feeling I can maybe figure it out if I just take off the metal plate, but I'm lazy, and don't want to tear apart the wheel, only to get stuck halfway through. Even if I can get it to work, the whole column doesn't adjust, and if it would actually work, I would like to get the steering column from the Xj I left without a steering wheel at pull a part, and put it into my MJ, so that I could adjust the wheel. That was a run-on sentence and a half.
-
I got a steering wheel from pull a part, the older, popular one, to put in my mj. My mj is a 1989, and I'm not entirely sure, but the xj was a 92, 93, or 94. When I went to put the new wheel on, the horn was connected by two wires(to the old wheel), and they just popped off, but my new wheel just pushes a button. Do I need to get a whole new steering column, and If I were to, would all of the wiring and stuff from a 92, 3, or 4 xj work?

I went under my Comanche to see what transmission I had, but I couldn't tell. I couldn't find any labels or numbers, the only thing I noticed that might be helpful is the drain plug is on the passenger side. Are there any other ways of identifying which one it is?
-
School me about lift kit ideas. I want a lift that can fit 32-35 tires(more towards 32). Are there any, reliable brands that you guys would recommend? I am trying to not spend much, but if it's worth it, I will spend a little over 1,000 (NOTHING over 2,000). I'm still new to Comanche's in general, meaning I don't know things like if it also has a unibody, and if you can use Cherokee lift kits on it. Are the Comanche's limited to suspension lift's like Cherokee's? Once again, I'm still relatively new so anything will help!
