  1. I got the stuff and changed from a two spoke wheel to the 3 spoke I got from a cherokee. When u press the horn button, it twitches from on to off constantly, rarely staying on for more than a second unless u move it around and hold it still just right. At first I realized I had the diaphram thing in backwards, but after I switched it still had the same issue. I have used a wire brush and sand paper and had no noticeable difference. Also, I think rotating the wheel has an effect on whether then horn is on or not, but I don't remember the details of that. Is this a common issue?
  2. ^Forgot to mention that included a 3 spoke steering wheel and I put it on earlier, much bigger fan of it than the other one mine came with.
  3. Also, not related, but I should be getting a AX15 trans plate/mount on Saturday, and last Tuesday I picked up a front axle, some grille stuff, the front part for a 4.5in lift, and a rear axle all for $200. I'm aware that I can't use the rear axle, but I figured it might have lower gears in it and if not, I could probably sell it for $30, which is how much it was lol.
  4. Ok, I'll just list it at $50 and say something like price not firm.
  5. Haha, I can't even get $50 out of it?
  6. I hope this is the right thread for a question like this, but how much is a working condition Peugeot BA/10 trans worth? Since I replaced mine with an AX15 I don't need it anymore, and am trying to sell it.
  7. I'm gonna borrow a tap set from a friend and do it soon.
  8. Ok thanks, but back to the crossmember. The other bolt holes that are further back so you can relocated the crossmember, they aren't threaded. The bolts that came out of the original holes are self tapping, so should I just use those to make their own threads, or are those known to be a bad idea, and I should just get a tap for them?
  9. Ok, thanks, now I actually know if a cluster is what I need or not instead of taking out 4 clusters all from 91+ XJs like I did at this one yard.
  10. Ok, so the sweet spot is anything from 88-90. Could you still make the different clip style work by holding in with tape or something?
  11. I understand, I was asking if everything before 90 was strictly cable speedometers or if there were cables and electric until 91+ came.
  12. Lol, so they are supposed to be cable?
  13. Oh ok, also I just called and actually both are electric speedos, but both are 89s. So how does that work, I thought that anything before 91 was cable.
  14. Idk, I thought he meant how to put a 91+ cluster into a 90- Jeep.
  15. He did use custom wiring. He basically said it was just 3 wires, you run the three from the back of the gauge cluster down to the trans or tc where the speedo cable should be.
  16. He has 2 MJs, both 89, both with a tach, but one is electric one is cable. I'm glad you just said that tho because I wasn't sure about the later model cherokees because of how they are missing a whole connector.
  17. I wish someone would have mentioned that there was another whole set of bolt holes for you to just move the crossmember back one spot. For the longest time I was hung up on why the YJ bracket and every other XJ/MJ bracket for the AX15, including aftermarket went backwards too far. I found a guy on facebook who lives in Florida, he has a plate and maybe a few other things I can get. I also learned thru him that renix tachometer gauge clusters do exist with a cable speedo, but also that the process for swapping an electrical speedo isn't very hard at all. Not sure if I can get the gauge cluster from him bc hes trying to sell the MJ it's in.
  18. If I do find a manual cherokee, how many where ax15s? Did they switch to all ax15s in 89 like the comanches?
  19. Ok, well because of how hard it is to find manual cherokees, I'm probably just gonna use the YJ bracket and move the mount and exhaust bracket. The exhaust won't be that hard, but idk about the mount. The one on the YJ goes backwards and down, the old one on the peugeot just goes straight down. Not sure how or if I can overcome this.
  20. I got all of the shifter assembly, it was from a YJ tho. I'm sure it will fit without having to hammer or cut any metal, not sure how well it will fit through the plastic though. I will worry about that later. Because it was a YJ the mount, crossmember, and bracket are different. I'm not worried about the crossmember being too high though, and if I was I could literally cut the middle or put washers under the bolts or something. I just need a new bracket/mount, only problem is I RARELY see manual cherokees, let alone AX15s. So I will probably just combine elements of the YJ bracket, with my old MJ bracket, and try to make room for the new trans mount.
  21. The plates don't mount with the same bolt pattern. So what I should have asked earlier was not where to get a proper crossmember, but rather what about the plate the trans mount and trans sandwhiches? Are they all the same on any XJ/MJ with an AX15?
  22. I'm going to take the mounting plate from the BA10 and swap it onto the bottom of the AX15 and see how everything lines up. If it does, the only two problems I could think of are the cross member is still like an inch too high, and the rubber part of the mount from the BA10 might compress easier than it should, but until I consider doing any serious offroading, I don't think either of these issues are significant.
