  1. if you buy a new knock sensor it won't look like the old one, but it works, least the one they gave me didnt look like the one i took out but the guy said it was the right one so i went home and ionstalled it and it worked great :)
  2. Congratulations, all you Bama boys. i'm a die hard Gator, when a season like this happens, i become a SEC supporter lol. thats 5 in a row for us ;)
  3. Welcome aboard jeep10, I was born in inverness, own a home in Ocala. good looking manche where ya find it?
  4. Jim, thanks for the reply, the normal operation of the heater shouldnt effect the operation of the motor should it? i havent heard any vacuum leaks, but i will chck again tomorrow when i have time. anything else i should look for you can think of? Thanks John
  5. so last couple days ive noticed the truck seems to miss at cruising speeds . on the way to work this morning i tried turning off the heater and lo and behold the idle/engine rpm stopped the rough running. my question is would the lower vacuum becuase of the heater taking vacuum cause this somehow? I'm not sure how vacuum affects this honestly theres no vacuum advance on the distrubitor its all electronic so i'm not sure, how it would make the engine miss during normal driving conditions. Thanks John
  6. i havent yet, the gauge in my comanche seems to work fine actually. it goes up to about 210 then drops down to 190 back and forth while i drive.i'm still working on other "problem areas" for now eventually i'll instal mech oil psi and temp gauges though. before summer for sure.
  7. i think this falls under personal preference. if i have electical gauges i usually install mechanical gauges anyway.I'm old school i guess and don't trust electronics to much lol.
  8. i bought my comanche from one fo the mods from cherokeeforum 8)
  9. well if you come thru fayetteville let me know i wouldnt advise coming next couple days lol its alot of snow here last night
  10. Comanche, i blew thru today on ym way back to Bragg, I didnt call you because it was Christmas. didnt wanna bother you. i'll be going to Fla again sometime this summer, maybe catch you on that trip John
  11. i drained the transfer this mornign and filled it with lucas tranny no slip, ran it over to ryans house to grab a few parts he had for sale, a new transfer being one. when i got there i checked and it was hot but not to hot to touch like it was before.on the ride over 5th gear was lagging really bad had to run 4th the whole way,on the way back whatever was stuck or binding must have come lose as i finally hit 5th gear and was running about 70. i have no idea what was bound it was in shop last week, they replaced the transmission in stalled lockers front and back, 4.10 gears front and back, and the shaft in the transfer, maybe all the new stuff was all tight and replacing it all at once was bindiing, maybe they tightened something to tight and it wore loose idk, but it seems better now. gonna drive it some tomorrow and see how it does
  12. Comanche county, where at in Gawja? you ain't a dawg fan are you?i'll be coming thru Gawja in a day or 2 on my way to Florida for christmas, gimme your number in case i break down lol.
  13. did you clean your throttle body when you replaced all that stuff? that and like someoen said a vacuum leak somewhere
  14. I'm driving mine to Florida this week, right now its all i have to drive. i drove it up here back in September, right now it has some transfer whine noises so I'm buying a transfer from one of the guys on here , gonna throw it in the back and head out ,hope i make it if not ,guess i'll be changing a transfer on the side of the road lol. comanche county why you making a 1 way to gawja?
  15. i think the oil in the transfer is just spalshed around by the gears isnt it?
  16. the transfer case drain and fill are on the back side of the transfer, 2 plugs that are 15/16ths amybe 1 inch? top one is fill bottom one is drain. the transfer takes automatic transmission fluid. fill it till its at the top of the fill hole.
  17. ok feels like the rear locker is loosened up, now the transfer case whines loud i drove the truck about 30 miles in 2wd no front ds installed when i got back the transfer case was hot to the touch any ideas what would make that happen? it has fluid in it when they put the ax 15 in they put a new 23 spline shaft in the transfer
  18. ok i went out and drove it in circles for awhile.it seems to be working sometimes as long as I'm in neutral , even then sometimes it still pops but that could be the ratchet thing ever one talks about.its hard to hear in the truck with the tires whining and all.and the transfer case whining so loud lol
  19. i'd rather not blast anyone on such a public forum. I'm gonna adjust the brakes tomorrow and see if that helps. they were supposed to lengthen my rear drive shaft which they didnt do,so i'll have to have that done. someone said drive the truck in circles left and right to loosen the locker i'll try that tomorrow too.when all thats done i'll see where i am and maybe call them and see what they say and go from there.
  20. i wouldnt doubt it was put in wrong about everything else they did was messed up too. they installed new brakes in the rear since the disc brake conversion kit they got didnt fit. but i guess they didnt adjust the rear brakes so i have almost no pedal.but it does pump up after about 3 pumps.
  21. yes with the clutch pushed in it still chirps the tires in a turn. someone said go drive around in circles 20 right circles and 20 left circles and see if that helps. also seems like the front locker is driving the driveshaft backwards thru the drivetrain and making a really loud humm from the transfer case.
  22. anyone have any experience with the lock rite lockers?i just had one put in my 9 inch and its staying locked. its brand new so does it just require a few days driving to loosen up or what? every corner the rear tires make the skeek noise as one turns faster than the other. will it eventually unlock or do i need to take it back to the shop and have them fix it? thanks john ps i tried going backwards to unock it no luck
  23. Nate, living in florida(and my jeeps are 4x4) your rearend will probably be in water from time to time. even with a good breather tube and seals water will get in the diff.(usually when your bouncing thru a creek the input shaft bounces around and water gets past the seal) i check my diff oil after every outting if it looks like light clored chocolate milk it has water in it. this being said i use the cheapest i can find cause I'm gonna change it pretty often. the fill plug on the 20 should be on the cone about half way up.also ive never had any trouble with gear oil really its so thick i don't see how you could burn it up.unless maybe your running a 750 hp motor or pulling alot of weight around alot. thats just my opinion of course John
  24. I have the bushwackers on the front of my mj.i havent even been offroad since i installed them i got them because i have full width axles on the front and wanted the protection, i had already cut my fenders so they didnt fit very well. instead of the hardware they sent to install i used self tappers as i had to seperate the back pieces to compensate for the cut fenders, when i did that the fenders didnt wanna stay on so i just ran some tappers in them hope this link works http://www.jeepforum.com/gallery/showph ... mit=recent
  25. lol it says condition enw and the picture is a rusted junker nothing but win in that sales pitch
