? for those that have swapped wire harnesses
87mjdriver replied to 87mjdriver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On an 89 where is the plug located that would plug in to the 87 C101,. Do the 89 and up still have a plug?? I thought it was deleted and all the wires ran directly. to their components I thought it would be good to get rid of that connection for good -
Poking around the junkyard I found a decent shape mj 87 4.0 5 speed. also found either 89 or 90 cherokee 4.0 auto. I have thought about swapping out my wiring harness because of all the wiring gremlins I have due to the leaking clutch cylinder, I fixed it years ago but everything is finally breaking down. the cherokee has the harness that DOES NOT have the C101 connector, has any one tried or know if it would be difficult to swap that harness for my 87 w/the c101 connector. its this or pull the good harness out of the JY MJ that is still in descent shape. Now I know how time consuming it is to swap wiring around, that doesn't conscern me. its the fact that I may need to do a bunch of splicing woories me.

i made a 3000 mile jaunt across country from oregon to south carolina in my 87, with 245,000 miles on it. towing a 2,000 pound trailer. not one problem, and ran at 65mph averaging 16mpg

A few words: I do not want to see pat banned, we mj guys have had a hard enough time with keeping our rigs going and I will admit I have used some of his post for research on fixing my own rig. I kept this behind door for a long time to show some respect, but I think it needed a bit of peer presure to help things along, Pat himself has said he is crappy at staying in touch. As soon as Pat pays up I will post it for all to see. I promise.

so I got tipped off that jeepcomj is buying parts on another forum, mind you he still hasn't paid me back the money he owes me. I haven't heard one word from that guy other than the one post he put in the deadbeat seller thread. I would be happy with $100, I have sent him my address and a money request thru paypal. and nothing heard

sad thing is I started looking at the honda seats after I s[ent money picking up a set of laredeo seats that I fon't think I will ever put in
-
I just bought a 93 civic for a commuter car and have been thinking the same thing. they are comfy and the tuner guys are alway getting rid of them cheaply to put in race seats(like they really need them) I kinda group it in with the huge wings) kinda pointless on a street car. anyway the seat brakets look easy enought to make a bracket to mate the two. and they are close to the same size.

O.K. few people talked to me about my situation. here it is oct 28th 2008: agreed to buy a 4 cylinder head for 130$ with shipping. sent money thru paypal. dec 9th: after nothing ever arriving I contacted the seller he said that ups screwed up and never delivered it, so they returned it to him. he stated he would send it again and return 50$ for time wasted. Jan 27: still nothing, contacted seller via pm. seller stated ups screwed up again and he would return my money. feb 27: I got a moderator involved. seller told both the mod and me that he would get the money out and to me by mar 6th. A few days after mar 6th nothing showed up, I sorta passed it off as maybe he was affected by the economy tanking. however I started noticing that he was still working on jeep projects, which agravates me now. So I am calling that person out. JeepcoMJ I would really like my money back.

I had a friend that showed me a trick he used on his 90's era ford. His truck was that blue-purple shade, he took purple panty hose and wrapped the hole tail light with them, it seems hokey but it actually looked good -
thanks

eye to eye measurement of stock Mj shackles. I thought they were 5 inches. FYI I don't have stockers on my rig.
