  1. Yep it has the rubber in one end. I checked to see if the ends are lined up and it looks ok but who knows my eye balls may be crooked. I think I will go ahead and install the t-case and new drive shaft and see what happens.
  2. I have a vibration I can't get rid of and would like to know if there is anything I'm forgetting. I have an 88 4.0 5 speed. I am currently converting to 4wd and have installed the front axle no t-case yet. I don't know if it had the vibration before installing the front axle as I never drove it at any speed with 2wd axle. The front axle was installed with a rusty's 3" coils with new shocks track bar and controll arm bushings. The rear AAL only raised the rear 1" so I don't think the rear driveline angle is a problem. I have had the front end aligned and it drives nice and straight and tight. I have replaced the engine mounts the trans mount is still in one piece and looks ok, I didnt want to replace it untill t-case install. I have replaced the rear u-joints and the axle joints. when installing new tires I found two bent rims and replace the rims with a set of stock steal wrangler wheels. I have had the tires balanced but also had the exact same vibration with old tires. The vibration is a high freqency and starts at around 60 and gets worse as fast as you can stand to drive. All the things I have replaced seem to help but it never goes away. I am going to look at the rear wheel bearings tomarrow but i am not sure what else to do. How smooth is your truck at 75mph?

    car dolly

My truck has 235/75/15's and had plenty of strap left over on a Uhaul rental. Check your bumper it should have the tow capacity stamped in. If you are renting the dolley they will decide if your bumber will work or if you need a hitch. You can also go to the Uhaul website and plug in your tow vehicle and the vehicle in tow and see if it will allow you to rent.
  4. Now I know why we can never find bumpers for our trucks! Jeep couldn't find any back then !The 1987 commercial the truck doesnt have a rear bumper!
  5. One tip is to watch your throttle when coming out of a mud hole. The mud won't break too much stuff because of low traction but alot of damage results when you exit the mud on to hard ground with your tires spinning hard. When the tires grab things can break. I also agree with the other posts that recomend staying out of the mud. Go buy a POS if you want to tear stuff up. Have Fun,
  6. What air pressure do you run in your tires for best ride and wear? I am running LT235/75/15
  7. Got one thanks,
  8. Let me look at them to check the condition but I'm thinkin $10.00 for the set plus shiping if the are not rusty.
  9. I have a set in WV no rust but some of the studs are busted off or bent. If you interested in replacing the studs let me know and ill send you some picks later next week when I get back to WV to pick them up.
  10. Be carefull using super glue, I have seen when people use it and bump the mirror it pulled a chunck of the glass out and damaged the windshield.
  11. Check this out. http://www.webasto.us/general/en/html/8352.html Expenseve (cost more than our truck were new) but works great. We use it in heavy equipment no power supply needed.
  12. They would not fit my "88" the door opening is wrong (the new lock is smaller and does not cover the opening all the way) and the way the rod attached is different. If I could have had it re keyed for $20.00 i would have. The key in the photo is what you get with these locks.
  13. If anyone in my area has a complete trans junk or good let me know or I can use just the tail shaft housing.
  14. Thats what I assumed but was not sure, I am having trouble finding a BA10/5 in the junk yard. Thanks,
  15. Is the shift linkage for the T-Case the same for all transmissions? I have a BA10/5 but will the plate on the auto trans or the AX-15 also work? How about 231 vs 242? Thanks,
  16. I need a tail shaft housing for a 4wd BA10/5. or a complete trans if it's in my area. Thanks,Steve
  17. What would happen if this shifted into OD while in 4WD or AWD?
  18. I agree, I have a Wet Okole on my bench seat and the fit is great and so is the quality. what seat cover did you get? do you still have the item number? dad got a cheap one for his bench and it as super baggy and looks tacky. thanks I don't have the part number it's been about a year that I ordered it but if you go to the Wet Okole web site you can order it. I also called and talked to them first because I couldnt believe they actualy still make them. They make each one to order so you can pick your collors and other options. They are not cheap I think it was around $250-280 with shipping but I think it was worth it. I couldnt have the seat recovered that cheap and you can hardly tell its a cover the fit is very good. The one I ordered was for an "88" with no head rests and with the cut out for the gear shift. If you have the strait front and head rests you will need to tell them that in the notes.

  20. can you drill a hole in the bolt and use a small lock? or use a cable that can be put through the bolt and locked? Or you can make a new bolt out of a piece of all thread and a locking lug nut. Then you just use the key and your lug wrench to remove it. That would also work for your High Lift Jack mount as well.
  21. My truck would idle fine it was when under load and the disributor would try to advance the timeing it would miss. WOT it also ran well.
  22. I put a reply in you distributor thread explaining what I found on my truck and this was also one of the issues I had, It would only pull at WOT and miss at part throttle. The timing was off and at WOT throttle it would smooth out. My truck is 4.0 not 2.5 by the way. hope this helps.
  23. When do you hear the knock? I had a Knock from my distributor after rebuilding my engine. It would miss under part throttle and I would hear a knock from the distributor. I found the problem was the gasket that came in the engine kit would flatten out and let the distributor come loose after driving a few miles. This would let the distributor slap back and fourth on the clamp bolt everytime the timeing would try to advance or retard. It actualy left little thread marks on the clamp. I fixed it by removing the gasket and just using grey RTV. I have put about 2,000 miles on it so far and no more problems. I'm not sure if this is what your experiancing but it's something to look at. Good Luck,
