  1. Man, if that ain't the truth.
  2. That's the first I'd seen the blue one. I'd seen this gold one before: http://motorcrave.com/retrosize-your-ch ... kits/8631/ I'm not sure I'd do that to a Challenger (something like $16k base price), but still very cool.

    Ravine $ ?

I think that sounds pretty fair. I think I paid something about the same for mine when I got them. Think of it this way: if you don't buy them for that price and you have to wait six months or a year to find another pair in worse condition, would you be OK with that?
  4. I know of one, but I just sold it. Sorry. Good luck finding another.
  5. If I had you fab skills, I'd probably have 10 Jeeps just sitting around getting random work done. Good luck with the new project.
  6. Bring it on; I'll be glad to help you any way I can. The roll bar needs some modifications before it can go back in. I need to find a friend that can and has access to a welder.
  7. Is there a clasp or something? I can't seem to get it to move at all. I don't want to apply too much pressure because I'm afraid of breaking it.
  8. I forgot to mention that I bled the slave more and it runs pretty well. I took it down the highway the other day and it seemed to do OK. So, now I have a running truck and I can't afford to register it and put insurance on it. If I'm forced to sell my Mustang, I'll move the tag over from it. We'll see. I got the stripes and molding off of the driver side. I still need to spend some time with the rubbing compound, but on this side I only got ghost stripes on the fender; the door and cab came out fine. I also put the '97 door handle in on this side too. For those that are curious, I don't think the upgrade is worth it. I only did it because the striker/button spring broke on my original ones on both sides and I still had my rear doors from the '97 donor. They are slightly bigger, but they were a pill to swap and then the rod contacted the window channel on the driver side, so I had to tweak that, etc. etc. Maybe others have had better luck than me, but it total wasn't worth it to me if I had a choice. White grill back on too.
  9. I tried the black grill on the truck. I'm not sure I like it as much as I thought I would. Maybe if I had black wheels; actually I think its the amber turn signals. I was going to buy some clear corners, but those will have to wait.
  10. I had seen your red one before, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a blue Olympic edition before. Honestly, I liked the way the gold stripe looked on the white (especially with the tan interior), but it was in such bad shape, it had to go.
  11. If you do one next year, since mine was a work in progress, can I submit a completed picture instead? I'll definitely want one next year regardless; sorry I missed out this year.
  12. After taking some time off on the '88, I did a little work on it today. I got the moldings and leftover residue off the driver side and the decal off everything but the door. Tomorrow I'll pull the handle and finish removing the decal. I've been contemplating the right method for removing what's left of the decal behind in the clear coat. Since rubbing compound didn't work, I think I'll have to wet sand it.
  13. Boots, my '88 looks pretty close to yours. Here's my '90/97 in Jeep Rescue Green:
  14. I think I took my dash in and out a million times trying to finish everything up. Hopefully you'll have a much easier go with it.
  15. Seems like I saw something very similar to that on the Power Block once. Very nice looking.
  16. When my belt squeeled with the AC, it was because the belt was too loose.
  17. Thanks guys for the support. It will all work out. This truck isn't going anywhere; I will sell my Mustang and the house before I have to sell this truck. I've been wanting to relocate back to Charlotte anyway. It's definitely not "done" and you will see more of it. It just may not be right away.
  18. I ended up swapping my chrome bumper with $500MJ. Brent restored it and it turned out great. I still have several small things left to do on the outside. The paint on the doors is going to be buffed before I put the Comanche decals on. The interior has some work to do to (don't look at my drooping headliner). I've got several other small things to do that will be put on hold for now like the bedliner. I can't do anything that isn't free right now, because I lost my job this week. Unfortunately, that means I can't register the '88 either since that's just an expense that isn't necessary. I've had a couple people express interest in buying the '88, but I'll probably end up selling the Mustang instead since it can make up for a lot more mortgage payments. I will still be posting updates, just probably not as frequently as before.
  19. I used an eraser wheel to remove the pioneer decals from my truck. The bed turned out fine, but the cab, door and front fender have left a ghost texture behind. I have tried Goo Gone, paint cleaner and rubbing compound, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? You can see in this picture how the bed looks fine, but the cab still has remnants of the decal. It's not just a stain; you can feel a texture.
  20. It's just the picture. Its not really that dark in person. Scroll up to my first post and you'll see what I mean.
  21. Thanks! I got the transmission and transfer case back together. The slave line still needs some bleeding, but I was able to drive it down the street and back. Today I'd thought I'd try the black eight slot grill. I still have a black ten slot and a chrome eight slot I can try too. I don't know why the passenger headlight looks so dark. Dexter likes to chill out under the Comanches.

    Time to Rant

Yeah, I'm really hoping I didn't damage it, but at least they aren't too terribly expensive to replace.

    Time to Rant

The '88 really tested and pretty much broke my patience today. I removed the trans and transfer case this past weekend to put in a new slave cylinder. I wanted to get as much of it back together today since tomorrow will be over 100° here. I made some pretty good progress and got the transmission back on and all the bolts back on except for the starter. I went to connect the CPS and couldn't find it. I couldn't find it anywhere. Since I really haven't even driven this truck, I was starting to wonder if there ever was one. I looked for a solid half hour. Come to find out that when I was wrestling the transmission back on from below, the CPS drooped down from where it was tucked out of the way and I bolted it in the bell housing. I had the take the transmission back out again just to pull the CPS out. And if that wasn't enough, in between unbolting it and bolting it back, the transmission fell off of the trans jack (no harm no foul, but still). I make a point not to swear, but I'm sure my neighbors could hear some loud words coming from my garage. I'm really starting to despise working on my vehicles by myself. I couldn't really use another set of eyes and another set of hands.
  24. I started to replace the slave cylinder on the '88 this weekend and every little thing that could go wrong did. What gets me is crawling under the Jeep to realize, you need a different tool, crawling out, back under and you left something on the other side of the Jeep so you have to get up again. I don't pay anyone hardly at all to work on my vehicles, but I'd almost pay someone to just hand me tools.
  25. It's a good feeling making progress isn't it? I remember when I fired mine up and moved it around after my 4wd swap and it was a great moment, and you're right. The exhaust sound with nothing hooked up is pretty menacing. I_SGV62aoek
