whoa!! hold on a moment! I bought the c2c pans, because they were the cheapest, it was a waste of my money. The pans were poorly sized, inaccurately formed, and i wound up buying more sheet to make up for what they lacked. AND, i had to reform the pans anyway. If you're going to do your floors, just buy some sheet and form it yourself. a 4'x10' sheet of 20 gauge in austin cost $55, those c2c floor pans cost 125! if you want some help, send me a pm, i'll be happy to walk you through it

I don't have the answer, but I know that 5-90 over at NAXJA will know that information. you can reach him by PM at NAXJA.org or go to his website and browse around a bit: http://www.kelleyswip.com/ -
"I'm already planning on pulling carpet when I do my seat swap here in a couple weeks. Any recomendations on a floor pan or what grade of metal to weld in?" 18ga will do, that's what i'm using, and it's close to original. my supplier only sells it 4X10 sheets, so I will have much to spare... I'm considering just fabricating a custom floor pan and eliminating the seams and all that crap...

good off-road setup???
avnsteve replied to M1A1TankerTom's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
be very judicious about that bedliner on the whole truck, it do tend to hold dirt and will NEVER look good after a few miles of filth etc. -
yes i am. my wife cannot dig it. she thinks i'm in over my head. I explained to her if i could do this kind of work on a helicopter, then a truck should be a piece of cake...

OK, here I am. I've been lurking for awhile, and decided to post progress on my 87 long bed. I traded a small pile of camping gear for it. I thought it was a good deal (since it was all leftover army crap) I was browsing around here and read the "infamous" red text about pulling up your carpets and guess what!?!?! before Image Not Found after Image Not Found above is the drivers' side looking aft, that looks structural, so I guess I'll be making a new piece to stob in there... in the next pic you can tell, the floors were STILL wet from the carpet holding in the moisture! :shake: Image Not Found Image Not Found and finally here at the last pic you can see a little bit of progress. I tried a spot weld cutter, but the rust was SO BAD i couldn't tell where the spot welds were. So what I ended up doing was just cutting all the metal around the frame rails with an angle grinder/cutoff wheel, and then using an air chisel to reveal all the spot welds, then took a grinding wheel to the remainder. It's cleaned up pretty good now. I have no sure plans of where I'm gonna go with this truck, but i'm sure there's enough ideas here to give me some inspiration. please feel free to pipe up with your ideas and opinions

How to bleed the Cooling System
avnsteve replied to Jeepcom23's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
and if all that still doesn't work, back your rig up onto a set of ramps, you want the rear most portion of the head sitting higher than the rest of the engine, you can then remove the temp gauge sender and burp from there, I almost ALWAYS have an air pocket back there and thats how i clear it. -
sure sounds like the master cylinder has failed, the piston is hanging up in the cylinder...

What goes here?(Intake Manifold)
avnsteve replied to dancome433's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
it's definitely not the brake booster, thats a much bigger fitting. on my XJ, that fitting runs to the vacuum ball from the bumper. -
CFC was never about oil, or fuel economy or the environment, anytime the government hide one of their programs under one of those guises, we jump on it like lemings...
